"Not bad," He murmured, "Should I summon one more so that I can farm faster."

"But the question is, who gets the honour of joining this prestigious squad?"

His mind swiped through the options he had, his thoughts landing on two names, Alpha and Goblin King.

"Alpha's powerful, no doubt," he murmured, recalling the ferocious battle Lupin had with his former pack leader. "But I can't summon him yet. Lupin's got a connection there—wouldn't want to step on his toes. Besides, Lupin is clearly stronger so no point in summoning Alpha now," His lips curled into a small smirk.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

His gaze shifted to the Goblin King. "Now you… you're interesting. A pseudo-elite boss, built like a tank, and that spear technique of yours? Could come in handy." Arthur tapped his chin. "Alright then, Goblin King, let's see what you've got."

Arthur stood, summoning a circle forming next to his feet as he activated his talent.

A swirling, shadowy portal erupted in the air before him, energy crackling like distant thunder. The surrounding forest dimmed, the summoning process sapping light as if the shadows themselves were kneeling in.

The ground rumbled slightly as a hulking figure stepped through the portal, its massive frame dwarfing Arthur.

The Goblin King stood tall, its grotesque face framed by jagged teeth and intelligent, glinting eyes. Stay updated through empire

A crude but intimidating spear rested on its shoulder, and its muscles rippled under its dark green skin.

Arthur's smirk widened. "Not bad. You're uglier than I remember, though. Guess I'll have to look past that."

The Goblin King growled, its guttural voice like gravel scraping against steel.

Arthur raised a hand. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. You're big, mean, and used to being the boss. But let's get one thing straight—you're mine now. That means you work for me. Got it?"

The Goblin King slowly lowered his spear in acknowledgement, bowing his head ever so slightly. Arthur chuckled.

[You have summoned the Goblin King. They are now completely and utterly loyal to you. They will do as you instruct them without fail. You have the right to name them.]

[Would you like to name the 'Goblin King'] [Yes/No]

"No, I think his name fits him well," He muttered.

[Name Confirmed.]

Arthur led the Goblin King deeper into the forest, scouting for prey to test his new summon's mettle. It wasn't long before they stumbled upon a group of wolves.

"Perfect," Arthur muttered, unsheathing his Platinum Dagger. "Alright, big guy. Let's see what you've got."

The Goblin King growled and charged forward without hesitation, its massive spear whistling through the air as it brought the weapon down in a sweeping arc. The impact was devastating, the first wolf barely having time to yelp before it was bisected cleanly.

Arthur raised an eyebrow. "Alright, not bad. You've got some of your previous power."

Two more wolves leapt toward the Goblin King, but it spun its spear with surprising agility, swatting them out of the air like flies. The wolves hit the ground with heavy thuds, their growls cut short as the Goblin King thrust his spear forward, pinning one to a nearby tree.

Arthur smirked as he watched. "Efficient, too. I like that, you don't need much training do you?"

One of the wolves broke off from the pack, darting toward Arthur with fangs bared. Without missing a beat, Arthur sidestepped the lunge, his dagger flashing as he slashed across the creature's side.

-25HP

The wolf yelped, stumbling as Arthur stepped in closer, finishing it off with a clean thrust to its throat.

-30HP

[You have slain Level 4 Wolf!]

Arthur flicked the blood from his dagger and glanced toward the Goblin King, who had just dispatched the last of the wolves with a crushing downward blow of his spear.

The notifications kept appearing, confirming the kills.

[You have slain Level 5 Wolf !]

[You have slain Level 4 Wolf !]

[You have slain Level 4 Wolf !]

[You have slain Level 4 Wolf !]

Arthur picked up the rare item and other uncommon items and placed them in his backpack.

Arthur crossed his arms, nodding in approval. "You're strong, I'll give you that. But don't let it go to your head. The others are way stronger than you, especially Sylvaris here."

The Goblin King looked at Sylvaris whose yellow eyes stared back with competitive intensity but not hostile. The goblin king gulped slightly, his usual gruff personality slightly faltering.

"Alright, let's keep moving. We've got levels to grind,"

He chuckled at his own joke, his steps light as he moved further into the forest.

Behind him, the Goblin King followed alongside Sylvaris.

As Arthur walked through the forest, constant notification of kills filled his mind as his other summons worked hard.

[You have slain Level 3 Corroded Rabbit!]

[You have slain Level 4 Wolf!]

[You have slain Level 4 Corroded Beetle!]

The corners of his mouth curled into a faint smile. "They're working hard," he muttered, referring to his scattered summons. "At this rate, I might not even need to do any heavy lifting."

A familiar chime echoed in his mind.

[Ding!]

[You have levelled up to Level 8]

[All attribute points will be increased by 1]

[You have gained 1 free attribute point and 1 Skill Point]

Arthur paused, a soft grin spreading across his face as he opened his status screen. "Level 8, finally. A bit of grinding, and I'm catching up to the leaderboard freaks."

He glanced at the Goblin King, who stood nearby, stoic and still awaiting his next command. "Alright, big guy," Arthur said, his tone casual but firm. "You keep going. Kill every monster you see, gather some experience for me, and don't get yourself killed."

"I've got other business to handle."

The Goblin King growled in acknowledgement before lumbering off into the dense forest, the sound of its heavy footsteps fading into the distance.

Arthur turned to Sylvaris, giving the serpent an affectionate pat on its scales. "Time for us to head back. I've got an auction to prepare."

Before stepping into the village, Arthur unsummoned Sylvaris in a swirl of shadowy mist, ensuring he wouldn't draw unnecessary attention.

His next stop inside the village was the plaza at the heart of the village.

The plaza was bustling with activity—players bartering, NPCs hawking their wares, and adventurers boasting of their recent level-ups.

Some were also talking about the new leaderboard ranking and the shock at how other players are so far ahead.

Arthur strode to the centre, his presence commanding immediate attention. Conversations quieted as the crowd turned toward him, recognizing the figure who had come to dominate the local economy.

He raised his hand, commanding their attention effortlessly. "Everyone, pay attention here!" His voice carried over the chatter, sharp and clear. "I'm Fateless, the best auctioneer in this world!"

Gasps and murmurs followed, a mix of admiration and envy spreading among the players. Some who had witnessed or heard of his last auction knew this could be their golden opportunity.

"I am pleased to announce that the opportunity you missed last time has arrived once again!" Arthur continued, his smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. He scanned the crowd, his eyes catching both the eager and hesitant expressions on the players' faces.

The plaza erupted into murmurs as players turned to one another, their excitement growing.

"Is he serious? Is he talking about rare items again?" one player whispered, gripping the hilt of their common-grade sword.

"How does he even get these things so quickly? This guy must have insane luck!" another said, shaking their head in disbelief.

"But I can't afford this... $140,000 for a rare item? I want it, but I can't get it," one more lamented, their shoulders slumping.

Others, however, were ecstatic. "This is it! I just sold a plot of land and was waiting for his next auction. I'm definitely snagging something this time!" a player exclaimed, their face glowing with determination.

Arthur watched their reactions, enjoying the spectacle. "That's right," he said. "I will be auctioning rare items once again in the next twenty-four hours.

"Let the present notify the absent!"

"Spread the word!"

The crowd stirred, players pulling up their communication menus and typing furiously to alert their friends

"As always, let me remind you," he added, his tone sly, "these opportunities don't come often, and they don't wait for anyone. Come prepared."

Satisfied with the impact of his words, Arthur turned on his heel and strode off toward the inn, the crowd parting instinctively to let him pass.
