Chapter 292: Burnt Tree, Awakened Phoenix and Arrival
Chapter 292: Burnt Tree, Awakened Phoenix and Arrival
__________ POV Narration __________
Aramaki fell to his knees as soon as he felt that shock course through all of his roots.
Enel had disappeared from in front of him, proving his superiority by turning his great tree into charcoal in the blink of an eye.
That tree was where Aramaki had hidden his real body, and it had taken all of his energy to transfer his consciousness to the wooden clone he had created, which was now also weakened.
All it took was angering the wrong person for a split second.
Garp and the rest of the Marines all winced when seeing his pathetic form, but they didn't pity him they were enemies in that war.
Instead, Zephyr and Garp both rushed forward, their fists cocked backwards as they prepared to crush Aramaki for good.
This time, however, the wooden admiral didn't try to block their attacks with his body, having expended most of his extra lives.
In an instant, charred roots sprouted out from the ground and slapped the two of them back.
Aramaki panted as the gigantic tree behind him collapsed, breaking into pieces whilst a much smaller one grew from its desecrated body.
The roots he had grown tried to rush at everyone at once, aiming to skewer as many people as possible.
But every time he even got close to someone...
"Takt!"
The voice of that annoying doctor resounded in his ears. Law was controlling the battlefield on a level that made it difficult for a weakened Aramaki to fight back.
To make things even worse, he swapped Garp with one of the charred rocks by his left side, and he swapped Akainu on the other side.
"Galaxy Impact!"
"Meigo! (Dark Hound!)"
Before he could even move, his body was crushed from one side by a powerful shockwave, whilst it was torn apart from the other side by a blackened magma claw.
Aramaki still managed to dive into the ground, most of his torso was broken and burnt, and his arms had been blown off, but he still managed to survive.
Akainu scowled when sensing him enter the earth, and he immediately slammed his magma fists into the ground.
"Bakuretsu Kazan! (Exploding Vulcano!)"
In an instant, the ground all around Akainu exploded, magma gushing out of the earth as Garp jumped backwards.
"You trying to pick a fight, magma brat?!?" The Marine Hero wiped some magma from his sleeve as his white suit burned slightly due to the sheer heat.
"Yasakani no Magatama! (Comma Jewel of Eight Shaku!)"
Kizaru took to the skies, sending thousands upon thousands of light beams straight into the almost liquified magma ground.
Everything around Akainu had been destroyed, and the lasers made sure that nothing had even the slightest chance of escaping.
'Is he dead...' Sengoku scanned the scene with a sceptical gaze. He doubted anything that was underground would've survived, but Aramaki had proven himself to be somewhat outside of their understanding.
"Hmm... That small tree is annoying."
As soon as the barrage was done, Kizaru pointed his finger to the small tree that Amaraki had grown, immediately firing off a laser at it.
In that same instant, Aramaki's body emerged out of that tree. No, it was more accurate to say that the tree had become Aramaki, the tree was no more, turning into a little branch as soon as he stepped out of it.
He no longer had the same vitality but for some reason, the light in his chest seemed to burn brighter, and much hotter.
The wooden god raised his regrown hand, pointing his palm forward whilst covering it in haki as the laser made contact with it.
Kizaru's half-hearted attack immediately parted, turning into smaller lasers which shot past Armaki and unleashed a great explosion behind him.
"Still a cockroach, huh..." Sengoku scowled, his body shining in Gold whilst the fight continued.
On the other side of the battlefield, the Elders were not having the greatest of times...
In an instant, the entire battlefield became covered in blue flame, it was hot, but not enough to burn the elders. But the main purpose of the flame didn't seem to be that of burning others...
In an instant, all of the people on Marco's side started being healed.
Injures disappeared, and limbs grew back. But the dead remained dead. This made Marco all the madder as his eyes locked onto the Elders for the first time.
The ear-breaking screech of a true phoenix broke the very space all around it, and sent a shockwave so large that many of the elders nearby were pushed backwards.
Saturn had dug all of his legs into the flaming ground to avoid that fate, but that turned out to be his biggest mistake, as he was the first to receive Marco's wrath.
Before, Marco's transformed body was smaller in size, more compact and agile... But now? It was massive, a size dwarfing that of the Elders.
His gigantic claws immediately sunk into the spider elder's body, breaking bones and piercing flesh as he then moved to try and rip the Elder apart.
"Don't you dare!" Saturn shouted, as more and more legs grew out of his back and stabbed into Marco's gigantic body.
They seemed to injure him, but every time a hole was made, it was healed right back, it was instant.
Saint Warcury immediately ran to assist him, his gigantic body jumping to the skies as his tusks turned into blades once more.
The Boar Elder tried to clash with the Pheonix directly, but two figures appeared in front of him in an instant.
"Did you perhaps forget about us?" Francisco's voice grated on the Elder's ears, as his blade clashed against one of his bladed tusks.
The now healed Big Mom aided him, blocking the other tusk as the two emperor-level figures pushed the Elder back into the ground.
Sabo also didn't waste any time, he used all of his strength to strike at Kuma's now healed palms, accumulating more and more shock into those paws of his before the Tyrant King pointed both of his hands at the downed Warcury.
"Ursus Shock!"
The gigantic paw print immediately struck the boar elder. His large body was like a pebble within a tornado, he was sent flying far off into the distance whilst Kuma's wrists became strained once more... For at least a whole second.
Marco's blue flames healed him instantly, allowing him to continue fighting.
In the distance, the flames on the ground made the Saint Peter wriggle on the ground even harder. The Worm Elder somehow managed to escape Dragon's grasp.
Meanwhile, Marco's sharp talons tore further into Saint Saturn.
"Did you enjoy digging your claws into Pop's back? Did you like how helpless he was against three of you?" Marco's voice held venom within it as he quite literally squeezed the life out of Saturn.
"Y-you! You mongrels won't succeed!" Saturn didn't respond to his questions, instead, he continued to struggle, whilst his body continued trying to heal less and less, as he was being torn apart constantly.
"W-we brought order to these dirty lands! We taught all of you peasants how to behave!" Saturn was having a full-on mental breakdown on his dying breath.
"Lord IMU will bring an end to all of you! He will maintain the world we have built! The balance-"
Marco was not really in the mood to entertain him anymore though.
"Hmph, you talk big for someone who won't even be here to see the results of this war!" With that, Marco clutched as hard as he could, his Haki-covered claws rending the Elder's body apart in an instant, sending chunks of flesh and exoskeleton flying everywhere.
The flesh continued to wriggle for a while, but Saturn no longer had the energy to heal from that. The pieces of his body soon turned to ash as Marco turned up the temperature to cook him completely.
The Awakened Pheonix then turned his sights towards Nusjuro, who was still struggling against Sanji, Zoro and Mihawk.
He wanted to swoop in and rip the half-horse elder apart with his talons, but in an instant, he felt his powers fail him. The blue flaming sea that had covered the battlefield disappeared in an instant.
The Exhaustion of using an awakened form had set in, and he returned to his human form. After all, Marco's body was weaker than Enel's when he first awakened... He was wholly unprepared for how draining awakening could be on the body.
He ended up free-falling to the ground, his strained muscles failing to react as he tried to command them to move. He closed his eyes before reaching the ground, only for a set of large hands to catch him.
Marco's eyes opened wide as he felt all of the momentum of his fall disappear completely, it felt more like he had laid down. His widened eyes stared straight into Kuma's smile and sunglasses.
The Tyrant King placed him right beside the body of Whitebeard, before turning around and heading to help Dragon alongside Sabo.
They only got halfway there before Dragon made his move to stop the Worm from diving into the ground.
With a beat of his wings, Dragon created a current so strong that it pushed both Kuma and Sabo backwards, whilst also sending countless flying, covering the Worm Elder's gigantic body in deep cuts.
Meanwhile, Shanks had just stepped onto their battlefield, sending a flying slash towards Nusjuro and forcing him to break his attention away from his current opponents, which gained him another round of brutal injuries.
"Wow... You guys really didn't need my help..." The Red-Haired Emperor blinked a few times before looking backwards, thinking about helping the marines, only to notice that the gigantic tree from before was in pieces... of charcoal.
'What the hell?!? So I could've had my duel then?!'
