Chapter 470
C470 – The Fog Is Rising Who Are You?
Oddly enough, the dense fog enveloped only the area around the piano room.
Jiang Hao, secretly perched in a tree, caught a glimpse of the fog and a hint of surprise flickered in his eyes.
“This ghost must be quite powerful!”
Unbeknownst to Jiang Hao, there had been no fog the previous night.
Meanwhile, in the office building, the four individuals keeping an eye on the piano room felt uneasy at the sight of the thick fog.
“Why has fog suddenly appeared?”
The fog hindered their ability to monitor the piano room’s movements, putting them at a distinct disadvantage.
“Boss, should we head down there?”
One of the group asked the sole woman among them.
Just then, the tranquility of the night was shattered by the sound of a piano.
“Dingdong…”
The piano notes sent a chill through everyone who heard them, erasing any desire to be mere spectators like they had been the night before.
The mysterious deaths of Zhou Jie and the other three in the piano room the previous night had instilled a deep fear in them.
Their lives were at stake; this was no time for games.
Across the way, a subtle smile played on Jiang Hao’s lips.
“Here we go!”
With those words, he leapt from the tree and vanished into the fog.
In the office building across from the piano room, the three men and the woman who had been monitoring the room were startled by the sudden piano music, their expressions turning grave.
The woman in charge spoke up quickly.
“The suspect has entered the crime scene. Let’s move fast and make sure she doesn’t slip away!”
She led the charge, racing down the stairs and into the fog.
But as they plunged into the fog, they were instantly disoriented and became separated.
A shiver ran through them.
“Could there actually be a ghost?”
That was the thought racing through their minds in the face of such eerie circumstances.
Yang Hongmei gripped her gun tighter, her senses on high alert as she cautiously moved forward.
Her three teammates, calling out her name, received no reply and were overtaken by panic.
Meanwhile, shortly after Jiang Hao had entered the fog, he sensed a formidable Spiritual Force attempting to breach his mind.
Jiang Hao’s mind was not one to be easily breached. As the Spiritual Force attempted to invade, it was met with an immediate and autonomous counterstrike from Jiang Hao’s own formidable powers. The intruding force was indeed strong, but its strength was relative to whom it faced. With just a slight manifestation of his Spiritual Force, Jiang Hao sent the invader recoiling in shock.
In the piano room, Xia Lan, clad in a flowing red dress with her long hair cascading over her shoulders, sat before a piano, her expression subtly shifting. Yet, her fingers continued their graceful dance across the keys, undisturbed by the intrusion.
The door to the piano room swung open, and Jiang Hao entered, his footsteps silent. He chose not to interrupt Xia Lan’s performance, instead taking a seat to quietly savor the virtuosic piano composition.
Xia Lan, for her part, remained undisturbed by his presence.
And so, this eerie tableau persisted for a good five or six minutes, until the piece drew to a close.
”Bravo, bravo, bravo…” Applause broke the silence, crisp and clear.
Xia Lan, still at the piano, fixed her gaze on the clapping Jiang Hao, her voice failing her for a long moment.
“Who are you?” she finally asked, her voice ethereal, almost otherworldly.
Jiang Hao, meeting her stare with a slight smile, responded, “Shouldn’t I be the one asking that?”
”Who are you? Why are you here? Why the killing?” Jiang Hao fired off a trio of questions, voicing his bewilderment.
Xia Lan, facing him, offered no reply.
The silence stretched between them, but Jiang Hao was not inclined to let it linger indefinitely.
