Chapter 394
Chapter 394 - There Was Another Hidden Story Behind This and It Was Unusual for the Hsu Family
After rendezvousing with Jia Renjie, Jiang Hao was reunited with his mother. He took a moment to comfort her before entrusting her and his sister's safety to Jia Renjie.
He then had one of Jia Renjie's men escort him to the Hsu Family estate.
Upon arrival, Jiang Hao noted the Hsu Family's home was eerily silent.
There was no sign of Uncle Hai or anyone else, which struck him as odd.
He had a sinking feeling that the situation was far from straightforward.
Activating his innate ability, Wind Catching Ear, Jiang Hao's ears quivered, picking up on subtle hints.
“Come out, I've arrived!” he called out calmly.
Yet, there was no reply.
Still, the signals from his two powerful innate abilities, danger perception and Wind Catching Ear, couldn't be mistaken.
“A bunch of cowards skulking in the dark!”
Since they wouldn't show themselves, Jiang Hao decided to flush them out.
With a slight twist of his left hand, a black object materialized. With a flick of his wrist, he sent it flying.
Four gleaming streaks shot out, cutting through anything in their path!
Directly ahead, a shadowy figure behind the curtained window felt a surge of fear and instinctively dodged to the right.
To the left, another figure concealed behind a wooden panel paled, contorting their body in an eerie manner to evade the strike.
Figures on the right and atop the rear building's roof felt the sharp menace and scrambled to avoid it with their own desperate maneuvers.
”Whoosh!”
“Crack!”
But the cold light, as if guided, grazed each of their faces with unerring precision.
“Hiss!”
Blood beaded on their skin as it was sliced open.
They touched their faces, feeling the dampness, and upon seeing the blood on their hands, shock set in.
A cold fear settled in their hearts.
They hadn't even seen what had wounded them, and no weapon was left behind.
It was then that Jiang Hao's voice echoed once more.
“Come out now, or next time it'll be your throats!”
With those words, everyone's faces turned pale!
In the main hall, the attention shifted to a middle-aged man who had just risen from his chair.
His expression was grave.
But in a surprising turn, he began to clap.
“Clap, clap, clap…”
He gestured to his companions to open the door.
Leading the way, he stepped outside to face Jiang Hao in the courtyard.
“Mr. Jiang, your reputation is well-deserved!”
“Mr. Jiang, I've been expecting you. Please, come inside.”
Jiang Hao gave a cursory glance at the onlookers, then fixed his gaze on the middle-aged man at the forefront.
“From the Nether King's Hall, are you?”
Though phrased as a question, Jiang Hao's tone left no room for doubt.
Caught out, the man didn't feign ignorance and openly acknowledged it.
“Indeed, Mr. Jiang, you have a keen eye. I am Chen Qi, the Palace Master of the Seven Kills Palace and the White Tiger Hall within the Nether King's Hall.”
Jiang Hao let out a cold, mocking laugh.
“The Nether King's Hall really lacks subtlety, doesn't it?”
He then strode past Chen Qi and entered the room without a second glance.
Jiang Hao's words turned Chen Qi's face into a mask of displeasure, and the surrounding group bristled with rage.
Yet with Chen Qi motionless, they dared not make a move.
Chen Qi, struggling to contain his fury, forced himself to remain composed and followed Jiang Hao inside.
Seated in the grand armchair, Jiang Hao watched Chen Qi enter.
“Give me back my father, and I might just let you live.”
