Chapter 59: 59: "Pregnancy Brain" for Three Years
Lin Yi's father was also very optimistic, "Indeed, since we're free this afternoon, it might as well be the perfect time to take the treasures to get a check-up. If it really doesn't work out, we can come back first thing tomorrow morning for the vaccination. It's quite convenient to make an appointment online, and none of this is a big deal."
Lin Yi still shook his head and said, "I was actually planning to spend tomorrow morning selecting a motorhome."
Han Xuewei's father added at this point, "Then let's take the kids to the maternal and child health hospital for a check-up in the morning! The RV can wait until the afternoon. As long as you choose one, I'll pay for it; consider it a wedding gift for my daughter. It's a good chance for me to show my support."
Han Xuewei's father was very generous, having long since made this decision without any ambiguity.
After all, there were already three cars in the family, and they had previously agreed to use a car as a dowry. Now was the time to make good on that promise, especially since the children had just had their first month celebration, making it the perfect time to buy the vehicle!
Seeing Han Xuewei's father's earnestness, Lin Yi could only smile and say, "Then I shall graciously accept! Thank you, Father-in-law!"
Even though Lin Yi was now very wealthy, he knew that he couldn't refuse this gift. It was a gesture from his father-in-law, not only meant for him but also for his daughter and grandchildren.
He couldn't meddle; he would have to find other ways to slowly return the large sum to his father-in-law's pocket.
Just like that, everyone quickly reached an agreement on what to do the following day.
Less than ten minutes later, Han Xuewei and Lin Yi's mothers came out holding the babies.
Lin Yi hurried forward and said, "Mom, honey, we only found out just now that the baby needs a check-up before getting vaccinated. I'm going to go to the check-up room and get a number!"
It was then that Han Xuewei suddenly remembered, "Oh my, I just remembered too, the doctor had reminded me before. Sigh, I'm becoming more forgetful. Is this the so-called 'pregnancy brain' that lasts for three years?"
While holding his daughter, Lin Yi didn't forget to comfort his wife, "Ha ha ha, turning into a little silly?"
Upon hearing that, Han Xuewei's cheeks instantly flushed with embarrassment, but when she looked up, she saw the elders smiling at her, leaving her nowhere to hide.
She playfully said to Lin Yi, "How could you say such a thing, not even avoiding people!"
At that moment, Han Xuewei was quite shy. She felt that such sweet nothings should be whispered between spouses, not announced loudly in front of others; otherwise, it would be too embarrassing.
Upon seeing this, everyone else laughed and quickly turned their heads, "Alright, alright, let's pretend we didn't hear anything."
After the joking subsided, Lin Yi carried the children toward the check-up area. Since there weren't many people there, they were able to get a number straight away.
Even before the number was securely in hand, the loudspeaker called out for that very number. It seemed their luck was good; no one else was waiting.
The whole family followed along, bringing the three babies inside. The doctor was stunned to see so many people arrive at once.
"How did you... line up and come in? I just called one number."
Seeing three babies being brought in all at once would baffle anyone, and no one would guess that the three were from the same litter!
"We only called one number just now, so those behind, please don't rush. Stay outside and wait; it will be quick," the doctor said as he stood up to start directing.
However, Lin Yi immediately explained, "Doctor, the number called was mine, but we are all one family."
The doctor seemed very puzzled, "One family?"
Lin Yi's father quickly said, "We are a family. I am the baby's grandfather."
Han Xuewei's father also hastened to say, "I am the baby's maternal grandfather. We are all together. These three babies are all ours."
After hearing this, the doctor suddenly understood, his expression revealing a touch of surprise, "Ah, triplets!"
Lin Yi smiled and said, "Yes, we have triplets."
The doctor's eyes showed envy as he exclaimed, "That's really rare! Even twins are uncommon nowadays, and here you have triplets. You are truly blessed! Then, bring the babies over."
Hearing the doctor's words, everyone quickly brought the babies over to the doctor, who carefully put each little one on the baby scale to be weighed.
After quite a bustling process, the height and weight of the three babies were all measured. Han Xuewei was on the side, diligently recording the data.
The doctor also carefully checked the babies' limbs, followed by their mouths. Although it was a tedious process, the examination was completed in less than ten minutes.
Logically, the next step would be to proceed with the vaccinations.
After comparing the recorded data with the computer, the doctor said very responsibly, "The babies are in good shape, but since they're only a month old, I recommend doing a detailed check-up, especially a complete blood count and tests for bone calcium; these are very important for the babies."
Lin Yi replied, "Then, thank you very much."
And with that, Lin Yi grabbed the three A4 papers with the babies' health check information, and after everyone thanked the doctor, they all returned to the main hall.
By now, the queue for vaccinations had dwindled, and looking around, the hall was nearly empty of waiting patrons.
Lin Yi checked the time; it was already approaching noon, and the place would be closing soon. In a little while, they would stop taking numbers. It seemed that the morning had not been enough.
Lin Yi led everyone to some empty seats to rest for a while.
"Everyone, please take a seat. Honey, you sit too. Are you tired from today?" Lin Yi quickly offered his wife a seat.
Then he said to the two elders holding babies, "Mother-in-law, Mom, please sit down and rest! You're holding the babies, after all."
Since there weren't many seats left, after the mothers settled down with their babies, the others had to stand. But the remaining group was all men, and it was natural for them to give up their seats for the ladies.
Han Xuewei's mother laughed, "You must be tired from running around, right? We can squeeze in; there's room to sit."
"Ah, don't mention it. Standing for a bit doesn't bother me, Mengmeng is light, and I'm not tired at all. You all just sit down," he dismissed.
