Chapter 6: Fighting A Higher Leveled Monster By Accident
Chapter 6: Fighting A Higher Leveled Monster By Accident
It was an impossible number, but he didn't have the time to think, as the monster moved its front claw, in a strange fast speed, to appear suddenly in front of his face.
"Dam it! Slice!"
He used his chain skill, linking his attack with the current, not yet to end, skill. his other sword moved, to cut the skin of the monster, while his body started, forcibly, to move away from that deadly looking strike.
"5"
It was just a mediocre number appearing above the monster's head, however it came with the appearance of the Hp bar of the monster, which seemed much thicker than usual.
"What luck! I chose a much higher level monster than me! I'm doomed! I need to retreat now!"
He just thought about retreating, when the tiger seemed to read his intentions, jumped on the only way to the outside, obstructing his way to the open wilderness.
"Curse you! You want me to run into your friends, attack me, and make my skills alert them and surround me! forget it, if I have to die then at least I must fight back!"
His eyes shone with determination, as he decided to give this fight his all. The first thing he cared about, the most important thing now, was his stamina. Its value was full ten points at the start of the fight, and now it was nine and half, approximately.
"That means I don't have much time to deal with you, glad I have my own stamina potions."
He wasn't that worried, as he had stamina potions inside his inventory. He knew he wouldn't only need it, but also the Hp potions as well.
His skill was in the middle of execution, when he pointed his other sword and muttered:
"Ground breaker!"
His sword then linked with the slice skill, moving in the same direction, adding more speed to his, while a small five appeared on top of that monster.
As his movement increased, his stamina consumption plummeted, but he didn't care. just as the slice skill ended, he pointed his sword towards the body he was moving around and muttered:
"Stab!"
His sword pierced the skin of the monster, forcing it to roar, and a big twenty damage appeared on top of its head.
"Great, it was a critical hit," he yelled in happiness, before repeatedly using the stab skill. The next time wasn't as lucky as the last one, as each strike only added ten damage to the monster.
He knew this damage was caused by his increasing moving speed, which pressed hard on his stamina, but it added more momentum to his swords.
"Slice!"
Once the cooldown finished, he used the skill, to add more to his speed.
"25"
It was a normal hit, augmented by his motion. He just prayed for it to be critical, but it didn't. Once his other chain skill finished, he used stab repeatedly, and kept doing this cycle, with the monster trapped inside an imaginary circle he was drawing, with no ability to touch him at all.
Until his stamina ran out. It didn't happen suddenly, as he always kept his gaze on the stamina meter. Once it hit the bottom, he felt his body was about to lose power, so he unsheathed the two swords, hurriedly, took out one Stm potion, and gulped it on one breath.
"Stm potion: low grade stamina regeneration potion. It adds five points of stamina at once, and regenerates one stamina point each second for the next five seconds. Can't be used while other stm potion is active."
The moment he gulped its content, five stamina was added to his stamina meter at once. he just let the bottle down, and grabbed the handles of his two swords, as he murmured:
"Ground breaker!"
It was a moment of life and death for him. doing all that took two seconds time, which enabled the monster to direct a deadly claw to him. He calculated it, and tuned his body to receive the strike on his back. Once he took out one sword, and even before he could hold it tightly straight, he used the only defensive skill he had.
His sword moved like lightning, appearing behind his back, to meet the claw of that monster. two numbers appeared one after another, one red and one white.
"15"
"-50"
Barely, he just barely escaped the claws of death. If not for his parry with his sword, adding more to his useless defense, he was sure he would be dead right now.
Before wasting anytime, he sheathed the two swords again, taking advantage of the skill he just used, took out one Hp potion, and gulped it in no time, before unsheathing his two sword, and muttering:
"Slice!"
His body moved, while the potion took effect. He received thirty points at once, and his Hp would regenerate by ten points each second for five seconds.
He was safe, for now, and that monster half life point was drawing near.
"Stab!"
"Stab!"
"Stab!"
"Ground breaker!"
"Stab!"
"Stab!"
"Slice!"
He kept using his three skills, repeatedly, taking advantage of the stamina regeneration effect of his potion. In the next minute, his stamina was about to be depleted again, but the Hp of that monster had already fallen below the midpoint of it.
"Now run for your life so I can run for mine!" Bloom shouted, with much frustration and deep tension, when that monster lost more than half of its Hp. Just as he waited, nothing happened, and at this moment, a rare info jumped into his mind.
"Damn! It's a higher monster than me by three levels then, so it won't run. Curse that stupid dignity law or something!"
He cursed out loud and inwardly the game developers for creating such a useless silly dump law. All monsters would follow the rule of run and escape, except if the level of the monster was above that of the player with more than three levels.
In this case, such as what Bloom was experiencing right now, the monster wouldn't escape, based on the dignity law, and would continue the fight until one of them died.
Bloom gritted his teeth. He kept his hands from pushing himself far this time, depending on the fact this monster would run away soon. But now everything changed, so he sheathed his swords, gulped on stm regeneration potion, and then used his defensive skill, blocking the incoming monster's claw.
"40"
"-50"
Two huge numbers appeared this time, one caused by his critical attack on the monster, and the other caused by the monster's claw, after being relieved by his parry defense.
He didn't hold back, as he used another Hp potion, before starting a race against time, against this monster, to continuously attack it, wanting it dead!
"Stab!"
"Stab!"
"Stab!"
"Ground breaker!"
"Stab!"
"Stab!"
"Slice!"
Another maddened spree of attacks came, interrupted only by the use of Stm potions and Hp potions repeatedly, until the monster Hp finally hit the bottom.
This wasn't just a simple fight, it was a suicidal mission. Any single mishap and he would end up being dead, not standing panting right now like he was feeling, extremely exhausted and alive.
"System alert: player has killed monster level five, and gained one hundred and fifty Xp."
"System alert: player has leveled up."
"System alert: player has gained five Fps, one Sp, and one Tp."
