Chapter 334: Activate The Beacon

Chapter 334: Activate The Beacon

"You should pay more attention to some details."

As he stood in the middle of this fight, Peri came and pinched his arm making him feel some pain.

"What was that for?" he hurriedly asked with no clue about why this happened.

"That's for that," she motioned her head towards her master while glaring at his eyes.

"Oh" he finally noticed the red eyes and silent tears of Nara. Seeing her like this pained him a lot and without knowing he moved to her side before hugging her.

And at this moment she exploded in crying without saying a word.

"Silly girl," he slowly said while patting her back and passing his fingers in her hair, "I'm doing all this to protect you and you care about some agents of mine?"

"You are such a playboy," she said it amidst her crying which made her look a bit funny to him. He resisted the urge to laugh at her while trying to find the appropriate answer.

"They are just my followers," he pushed her slightly away while gazing up at her puffy eyes, "I have no one inside my heart but you."

"Liar," she said while sniffing like a small girl, "I saw how you treat that mayor of the town."

He realized whom she was talking about. "You must be joking, right? She is just an NPC of the game."

"A game that can provide you with access to its power in the real world? That doesn't look like any game I know."

She crossed her arms after wiping her tears off. He knew he was lying just now but he had to stick to that lie if he wanted to avoid stirring the hornet nest in front of him.

"I'm seeing everything there as part of a game," he said, "don't put yourself in comparison with them. I'll always choose you in any situation."

She seemed to have a hard time believing him before she slowly asked: "Promised?"

"It's a life time promise for me," he smiled while trying to make his lie more perfect, "I won't let any girl take your position in my heart."

"I will never allow that to happen," she sniffed again before wiping some tears that remained on her beautiful cheeks. "I'm warning you, if I find any girl you like I'll kill her."

"I can't argue with that," he shrugged, hoping for her rage to calm down.

"And I might kill you as well."

"C'mon, killing me won't help you either," he couldn't help but smile helplessly while not knowing what else he should say.

"Boom!"

Yet the next wave of loud explosions helped him to escape this unpleasant confrontation with her. He turned his eyes to spot more monsters coming from the front.

"Reinforcements?" he narrowed his eyes before checking the situation around. "So they retreated and regrouped to attack again it's not safe to leave this mansion unprotected."

"What will you do?" Nara asked in concern while her earlier storm of rage calmed down now.

"Go and scan the entire mansion," he loudly shouted at his girls, "flood out any hidden dangers and make sure to kill anyone you find suspicious."

"What about my men?" Nara hurriedly asked, "they can't harm them."

"They are either dead or they are traitors not worthy of caring for," Bloom firmly said before turning towards his girls, "leave one tenth of your number here to safeguard your lady."

He pointed at her and this small gesture he didn't intend was received with a big smile over Nara's face.

"What about you?" she asked when she noticed him walking towards the gap in the wall.

"I'll have to fight them," he slowly said, "just be sure not to leave this place. Also can you contact my mansion?"

"Your place? Why?" she was startled by his unpredicted question.

"I want to call for my reinforcements too," he smiled and said while bypassing the hole and jumping in the air, "I'm not the only one with abilities."

She saw him fall over the back of a giant monster, one she already was familiar with from the game as a dark angel. "So you have more frightening abilities? I can't believe I missed this," she shook her head before turning to Peri.

"Do you have the urgent communication beacon?"

"This" the face of Peri changed.

"What? I should have used it in the first place when the attack started," Nara said in a firm tone, "those bastards from the CEO board didn't give me any hint at all about such a thing. Activate the beacon now and let them come to my aid."

Peri gave her a weird look as she moved her head around.

"I'm not calling them for help," Nara said with a faint anger in her tone, "I'm calling to give them a good speech about their lack of cooperation."

"Oh," Peri got what Nara wanted, "I'll activate it now."

Since day one of losing her father, Nara was provided with an emergency beacon. It was supposed to be connected with the CEO board for twenty-four seven.

This was something done as a failsafe measure towards any risks. She didn't understand the reason behind such a thing and frankly she didn't even consider using it at all.

So giving Peri such a thing to be implemented in her neck. All Peri needed to do was to press hard and continuously for one whole minute before a muffled beep was heard even by Nara.

"Is it activated?" Nara hurriedly asked.

"I frankly dunno," Peri seemed hesitant, "but you heard that beep, right?"

Nara came to check the side of her neck and there she noticed the redness caused around the beacon.

"I think it worked," Nara said without mentioning anything about the redness. "All we have to do now is just wait."

Peri nodded before moving her eyes towards the outside. The fight out there seemed very intense especially with the addition of Bloom.

"Is he going to be alright?" Peri asked, "I noticed you two are intimate with each other."

Nara gave her a deep glance before hitting her on the shoulder, "don't play this dumb trick with me. You already suspect his identity, don't you?"

"Alright, I give in," Peri succumbed when Nara started to tickle her, "I suspected it the moment I saw him, but today I became certain."

"Naughty girl," yet Nara didn't stop tickling her and that made Peri run.
