NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 317: Running Away

Chapter 317: Running Away

"System alert: the mayor has thirty-two minutes left to resurrect. Once resurrected he could bring one third of his initial forces back from death using one of his rings."

"System alert: if the mayor or one of his forces is revived, the player will lose his control over the town and the player has to kill everyone again."

Bloom laughed before saying, "give me all, empty everything and bring all the riches to me."

"System alert: Player has chosen to empty the town vault and his share of the town stores now."

"System alert: Does the player want to withdraw goods or their equivalent gold values from the stores?"

"Hmm let it be the goods," Jim muttered before the next moment he watched all his inventory slots were filled.

"System alert: Player's inventory can't take anymore. The rest of the goods are turned into gold coins."

"System alert: the vault is full of many goods, does the player want to turn them all into coins or decide to carry the vault away with him?"

Bloom paused for a moment before regretting the decision of filling his inventory with potions, scrolls, and materials. He glanced at the time and found that five minutes had already passed and the mayor would be revived soon.

"Screw it, I won't let my big trophy turn into worthless gold," he knew that the vault must have valuable items, things money couldn't buy easily in the game. "Bring me the vault, I'll take it with me," he said before taking out one ticket.

Yet another system smashed into his face, making him startled while a giant vault made out of special ore appeared floating a couple of meters above the ground.

"System alert: the ban on the town is still effective. Player can't leave here using any ticket. Player has to go out on foot or wait here until the ban ends. The remaining time of the ban is three hours and forty minutes."

"Damn!"

Bloom was shocked by this realization and next he turned to the vault and another realization hit him.

"Hurry, go find me a cart now!" he shouted at the clones and pointed towards the big barn in the mansion. He was sure such a barn must contain one large cart with strong horses to pull.

The clones went inside the barn which brought some memories to Bloom before returning in no time with a big cart drawn by a group of three strong looking dark horses.

"Stop it here," he said before touching the vault and it moved smoothly before finally landing on the cart.

Then he heard a faint crack and he had a bad premonition about this.

"Move," he shouted at the clones, "lead them outside."

The clones jumped over the cart and started to whip the horses, but the cart didn't move. "That's what I was afraid of," Bloom sighed before an idea popped up in his mind.

The mayor seemed to fill his vault to the brim. The weight of the vault made even the sturdy looking caravan creak under its weight.

And it was no surprise for him that the horses couldn't even move it for an inch.

"Loosen them," he hurriedly said, "and you you... you come and drag this cart," he selected three giant pets to replace the horses.

"Pull!" The moment they replaced the horses, he shouted and saw the monsters bulge all their muscles and squeeze their strength.

"It finally moved," and then the cart started to move, slow at first before it started to keep up speed.

He took out one horse before shouting, "all clones will stay here and cover my retreat. Other monsters come, follow me outside. Don't stop at anything, we'll leave this place fast."

He didn't delay and followed his fast racing caravan with a grand army of monsters of his own. The path towards the town gate took roughly twenty minutes before he darted towards the direction of the main road.

He knew the ban would only stop at the border of the town. "Keep pulling with all your might," he pushed his pets forward while glancing at the map and the time.

"Not much left," he was worried as the speed of the caravan wasn't that high and that was mainly because of the large weight of it. "If so then I promise you a big fight till the bitter end," he clenched his swords and started to scan the rest of the map.

The road was branched at many points, but the shortest one was filled with many twists where the caravan wouldn't be able to run fast through.

"But if I can't outrun him, then I have to ambush him," he evilly sneered before deciding to go through this road despite knowing it would take slightly longer than others.

"System alert: the mayor has revived."

"System alert: Player lost his control over the town."

"System alert: the mayor learnt of what the player did and he summoned one third of his falled forces. The entire forces are moving fast, heading directly towards the player."

Bloom didn't need all these alerts as the moment the mayor revived himself and his forces, a large number of red dots appeared at once in the center of the town.

"They have at least half an hour to catch up," he thought before glancing at what was left of the road, "and I need at least one hour to cross that road that means I have less than half an hour before getting away."

He wasn't worried yet he knew dealing with this mad mayor would cost him a lot. Bloom kept running as fast as the caravan could, while his large army of monsters kept surrounding him.

"He is stopped at the gate," yet while he was watching the movement of the red dots, he noticed their momentarily stop at the town gate. "My clones" he muttered before he heard a thundering rumble coming from the direction of the town.

"They are gone!" he didn't need the subsequent system alert to tell him that. The next moment of the end of that short thunder sound, the red dots resumed their movement again.

"So he had some scrolls left in his pocket," Bloom muttered, "nothing ever easy sigh," he turned to glance at the rest of the road before shouting, "stay here, the caravan keeps moving forward."

The pets drawing the caravan kept their marching speed while the other pets remained. "Spread out," he ordered while staying on the back of his horse, watching the map in silence.

The distance between him and the town gate was crossed in less than twenty minutes. During this he kept tracking his caravan, calculating the time of his retreat.

"I'll kill you bastard," the shouts of the angry mayor came to his ears from far away, even before the mayor himself appeared.

Bloom was hiding his forces behind a road turn, so acute that would prevent anyone coming to spot anything at front.

"Shadow doppelganger festival," just before the arrival of the mayor, Bloom summoned his clones and took out enough horses for his twenty-nine clones. "Go, kill everything that stands in your way," he calmly gave the order while watching the turn in cold blood.

The hooves of the cavalry echoed in the entire road, long before their arrival. The moment they appeared, they led the charge in a big move, while Bloom's forces lied in wait and ambush.

One side had momentum, the other side had surprise, and the two clashed violently without any warning or mercy.
