Chapter 122: A Few Martial Arts

Chapter 122: A Few Martial Arts

"You should not try the move you have not done before. If you did not try that fancy kick, you might hit me there." Yue commented on Shen's decision to copy her movement to counter her. He might get the right idea, but his kick was too clumsy, so she quickly countered him.

Shen learned his lesson and heeded the warning as he got up. She was right about that. He should not make a fancy move if he had never practiced it before. 'I should focus on my biggest advantage, which is speed.'

They continued the fight, and surprisingly, he could only hit her once. Yeh, time flew quickly as they fought, and he realized that the stats did not matter when he could not land a blow on his opponent. Shen laid down on the center arena, looking at the sky with a red screen before his eyes, saying [You Lost].

He was speechless for failing to land more than one hit after four hours of fighting. Yes, one hit in four hours, most of them was, he almost landed a blow. Yeah, it was just almost a hit because Yue could pull something out of nothing. When he thought he would hit her for sure, she would make an unexpected maneuver and countered him, every time.

"There's a reason why they are a pro, I guess," Shen muttered in a low voice as Yue came over and sat next to him. "That's not true. I guess this could happen in this Tribe Online only. If it is Universe Online, it would be hard for me to dodge your attack."

"I don't know what Sky does to this game, but you can move more freely compared to the other VR games. I can say that their gaming pod might be the factor for that, but it's actually not that different from a real-life movement." Yue tried to explain to Shen the difference between the two games. "Just like my spinning kick, you tried to copy. It's an actual movement from taekwondo. So yeah, you can apply the real martial art into the game. Maybe you can." Yue was about to say something, but she shook her head afterward. "Nevermind."

Shen was curious about what Yue wanted to say, but he did not pursue it further since the latter did not want to speak about it. "Applying martial art movement into the game? I have never heard of it before."

"Yeah, because it could only happen in Tribe Online. Many people tried it in the other games, but there is always an issue. I happened to discover this when I tried to hunt a monster." Yue replied.

"Hmm," Shen hummed in acknowledgment. "Should I try to learn a martial art too?"

"That's a good idea, actually. By learning a martial art, you can train your perception, too, you know. Just like what I did, reacting to your movement when you cornered me. I guess that can happen because I learned a few martial arts." Yue nodded.

"Nah, I will pass for that. I don't think I can learn a martial art in real life." Shen shook his head while letting out a small laugh as if it was nothing. Of course, Yue continued to ask. "Huh, why?"

There was silence between the two for a moment, and regret flashed in her eyes for asking that. After a moment of silence, Shen replied with a low voice. "I am a limp. There's an issue with my right knee where I can't do a heavy activity with my right leg. If I force myself to learn a martial art, I may get amputated."

Yue widened her eyes in shock, but then she quickly apologized. "I am sorry, I don't know you are." Before she finished her words, Shen got up and waved his hand at her. "You don't have to apologize. You did not do anything wrong."

"Anyway, you learned a few martial arts?" There was a surprise in his tone. He was genuinely surprised that Yue learned a martial art. He thought he was not the type of girl that was into something like that. This was also his attempt to change the topic, so the air between them was not too awkward.

"Yeah. I learned Wushu, Taekwondo, Judo, Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing, and Jiu-Jitsu." Yue mentioned one by one the martial art she learned. "I have been learning martial arts since I was twelve? At first, I tried to learn Boxing for self-defense. But then I continue to learn more because of my beforehand line of work. I am afraid of stalkers, so I try to learn everything I can."

Shen swallowed a mouthful of saliva as he secretly took a mental note, 'Don't piss Yue or else I will die!' The few martial arts in her mouth were not just two or three, but seven.

"I want to learn Muay Thai, but I can't find a decent teacher in our country. I will pass for that since I am too lazy to learn something new now." Yue smiled at Shen. Her smile was beautiful, but it was terrifying for him. Who knew that behind that beautiful and delicate smile, she was someone who mastered seven martial arts.

If some bastards tried to harass her, they were done for. There was no lack of harasser for a beauty like Yue.

"Ah, how about if you learn Taekwondo from me? I can teach you Taekwondo in this game, and that may work. Do you want to try?" Yue suddenly got an idea to teach Shen martial arts in the game. "Just telling you, I am a black belt in Taekwondo and Judo, and also a brown belt in Karate. I think I can teach you that if you want to."

Upon hearing that, Shen's impression of Yue completely changed. It was not changing in a bad way. It was just that he viewed her as a city girl that lived in a protected environment. Someone who was born with a golden spoon, but it seemed she was more than that. If she could get that black belt, that meant she took the martial art seriously.
