Chapter 5120 Heavenly Flame Qilin
Chapter 5120 Heavenly Flame Qilin
The blood rune was actually a spatial formation. Once an enormous figure crawled out of it, a ferocious aura unfurled. The immense pressure that this creature radiated struck fear into the hearts of the three-vein Heaven Saints.
This creature had the body of a lion, the legs of a leopard, the hooves of a bull, and a dragon’s horn. It was covered in shimmering scales, with blazing auspicious clouds drifting beneath its feet. When Long Chen saw it, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
“A primal chaos species, the Heavenly Flame Qilin!” exclaimed Long Chen as he recognized this legendary divine beast.
Legends spoke of the qilin as a descendant of the sovereign dragon race, though its exact lineage was shrouded in mystery. Various contradictory tales existed, leaving its true origins a matter of speculation.
There was an old saying that the qilin could be divided into male and female: the male was known as Qi and the female as Lin. However, in the outside world, they were collectively referred to simply as the qilin race.
The qilin race boasted many branches, including the Shadow Qilins, the Sacred Light Qilins, and the Violet Wind Qilins, among others. The Heavenly Flame Qilins were just one of these branches.
It was said that the qilin race had inherited the sovereign dragon race’s pure sacred energy. Many qilins were known for their kind natures and were revered in legends as auspicious beasts, symbols of fortune and prosperity.
However, not all qilins were benevolent. Some branches, like the Shadow Qilin, the Red Eye Qilin, and the Blood Qilin, had more fierce and violent tendencies, thriving on conflict and bloodshed.
The Heavenly Flame Qilin was generally considered an auspicious beast. Though incredibly powerful, it was known for its gentle demeanor and would not kill without cause.
Long Chen was taken aback by the appearance of this legendary divine beast. It was unexpected and impressive, even to Long Chen.
The surrounding devil creatures were so frightened by the divine beast’s sacred might that they hurriedly retreated. The presence of the Heavenly Flame Qilin unsettled even the Earth Devils, making them feel a palpable sense of unease.
The Heavenly Flame Qilin roared with the power of a bull and the majesty of a dragon. Its roar reverberated through the land and made the stars flicker. The sheer divine might of this primal chaos bloodline beast was awe-inspiring, shaking the very fabric of the world.
Standing on the qilin’s head, Lu Fan’s voice was filled with contempt. “An ant dares to mock me?! Even without using my weapon, my contractual divine beast can turn you to ash!”
Standing at thirty meters tall, the Heavenly Flame Qilin appeared much smaller compared to some of the massive beasts that Long Chen encountered, yet its aura was immense, shaking the souls of those who beheld it.
Although this qilin was in the Divine Venerate realm, the pressure it exuded was far greater than that of the three-vein Heaven Saints.
“You couldn’t beat me, so you summoned a helper. Yet, you still manage to boast so shamelessly. I really admire you. To have such a thick skin at such a young age—your future must be limitless!” praised Long Chen.
“You...”
Lu Fan’s anger flared, but then he grinned. “Ah, this is your envy talking. If it weren’t for me, you’d never get to witness such an existence in your lifetime, would you? Hahaha!”
Lu Fan thought he had found Long Chen’s weakness, so he raised his head and laughed, flaunting his wealth.
However, Lu Fan was indeed qualified to do so. Even with Long Chen’s extensive experience, he had only heard of the Heavenly Flame Qilin. Most cultivators had never even heard its name, and the six-vein Heaven Saints among the devil creatures were utterly clueless about this legendary divine beast.
“Ah, if you say it’s envy, I have to admit that I feel a bit of it. But I don’t understand why the Heavenly Flame Qilin race would permit one of their children to form a contract with an idiot. Do they have the habit of throwing their children away?” asked Long Chen solemnly.
“Hahaha!” Lu Fan laughed derisively. “The Heavenly Flame Qilin only gains room to grow by working with us. If they didn’t choose us, who else would they choose? Trash like you?”
Long Chen’s anger flared slowly; he couldn’t tolerate constantly being insulted as an ant and trash. Although he knew he had to stall, he couldn’t help himself.
Looking at the Heavenly Flame Qilin, Long Chen asked, “Little fellow, listen to my advice. You have the sovereign dragon race’s bloodline on you, so I am kindly advising you to go back and tell your leader that Lord Brahma is about to have some tough times. You should hurry and retreat while you still can, or don’t blame me if you’re caught up in the battle.”
Long Chen knew that the Heavenly Flame Qilin could understand him. After all, divine beasts with primal chaos bloodlines were extremely intelligent, on par with the human race.
In this world, some divine beasts had even transcended the Heavenly Daos, unaffected by the laws of heaven and earth. Unlike other lifeforms that needed to assume a human form to cultivate and ascend to the Human Emperor realm, these divine beasts could reach such heights without doing so.
The Heavenly Flame Qilin was one of these transcendent divine beasts, and so was Little Snow. When Little Snow had assumed its new form, Long Chen had thought that it was due to a bloodline limitation. It was only later that he realized how terrifying Little Snow’s bloodline was.
In response to Long Chen’s words, the Heavenly Flame Qilin roared. Runes on its scales glowed ominously, and a fierce killing intent ignited in its eyes. It seemed provoked by Long Chen’s remarks.
“Ah? Little brat, I gave you too much face, didn’t I?” Long Chen remarked. From the roar and its spiritual fluctuations, Long Chen knew that the qilin was angered.
The Heavenly Flame Qilin roared in anger, as if to say that even in the face of imminent death, Long Chen dared to blaspheme its race. Long Chen’s ire flared instantly.
“Come, you little animal. Let’s see if you can stop yourself from being beaten to a pulp!” taunted Long Chen.
Rolling up his sleeves, Long Chen pointed at the Heavenly Flame Qilin and said, “Lu Fan, are you planning on fighting together with it? If so, come at me!”
“Killing you doesn’t require us to team up. My Heavenly Flame Qilin is enough to deal with you ten times over. I’m in no rush. I’ll slowly show you what despair looks like,” sneered Lu Fan. He had absolute confidence in his Heavenly Flame Qilin. After saying that, he jumped off of it.
“You’re saying that it’s going to fight me alone? You’re not joining in?” asked Long Chen.
“I made myself very clear, didn’t I? Is there something wrong with your brain or your ears? Yes, I’m not joining in,” Lu Fan replied with a sneer.
“Oh! If so, I’m not joining in either,” said Long Chen lightly.
“What does that mean?” asked Lu Fan coldly.
Long Chen extended his right hand and snapped his fingers. Just like that, the void quivered, and a beautiful maiden with a flame staff appeared before him.
