Chapter 5088 Celestial Race’s Luo Yujiao
Chapter 5088 Celestial Race’s Luo Yujiao
Long Chen was in an excellent mood, but when he saw the people in front of him, his killing intent instantly ignited.
“Celestial race!”
Long Chen hadn’t expected to run into the Celestial race here. To make matters more surprising, the one telling Long Chen to scram was someone he had crossed paths with before—Zhang Benzhi, whom Long Chen had previously injured by cutting off one of his legs.
Zhang Benzhi was now a Heavenly Chosen and led a group of Celestial race disciples. Behind him was an icy-faced woman, the center of attention among the disciples.
She had high, prominent brow bones, sharp eyebrows, and her eyes were both deep and dark, with pupils much larger than ordinary. Despite her human-like form, her aura was extremely cold, reminiscent of an emissary from hell who came to claim souls.
“This aura…” Long Chen was startled. It reminded him of someone he had met before—the Nine Underworld Luocha, the woman who claimed to possess the Asura bloodline.
“Yes, this must be the Asura bloodline. However, this aura is a thousand times denser than that of the Nine Underworld Luocha. Is this woman actually from the Asura race?” wondered Long Chen.
The Asura race was a mysterious race whose inheritance reached all the way back to the primal chaos era. Legends claimed they were the rulers of hell and among the most formidable races of that time, on par with the Jiuli race, violet blood race, and Heavenly Eye race. However, they were seldom seen, with most only having heard tales of them. Long Chen recognized their aura from his encounters with the Nine Underworld Luocha.
When Long Chen’s gaze met hers, he trembled and quickly looked away, startled to find that his Purgatory Eyes had automatically activated. If he hadn’t turned away, he would have lost control of them.
Are my Purgatory Eyes related to the Asura race? Why did I almost lose control of them? Long Chen was shocked.
His Purgatory Eyes were akin to the eyes of his heart-devil, and he was wary of using them carelessly. Losing control over them could awaken his heart-devil, his greatest fear.
The woman also stared at Long Chen in shock. Though he had quickly turned away, the brief eye contact had caused her hair to stand on end and a profound sense of danger to surge within her.
Seeing Long Chen turn away but continue standing in their path, Zhang Benzhi shouted again, “I told you to scram! Did you not hear—”n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
“Zhang Benzhi, shut your mouth!” interjected that woman, startling Zhang Benzhi. His arrogance instantly vanished without a trace, and he shrank back like a tortoise hiding in its shell.
The woman turned her attention back to Long Chen, studying him intently. “White dragon race? I didn’t expect such an expert from your race. What is your name?”
Long Chen turned to face her, but this time, he was on guard and didn’t look at her eyes. He answered, “I also didn’t expect the Celestial race to have the Asura bloodline.”
“The name of the Asura race isn’t something a low-tier lifeform like you should utter. Watch your words or face the consequences,” she warned coldly.
She was clearly a bit uncomfortable with Long Chen bringing up her bloodline.
In an instant, Bai Yingxue’s expression sank. Calling the white dragon race an inferior lifeform was an insult to the entire dragon race; she could not tolerate such an insult.
“Tch, for a mixed breed of the human race and the Asura race to act so arrogant, just who gave you that courage?” retorted Long Chen.
“Courting death!” shouted that woman.
As expected, Long Chen’s words were right on target, instantly enraging her. She always viewed her Asura bloodline as her pride, but Long Chen had mocked it.
“You want to attack? Come, aim for right here!” taunted Long Chen. He didn’t retreat at all and pointed at his own head arrogantly.
“You…!” That woman quivered with rage. The disturbance had drawn the attention of the experts of Pill Valley, causing the three-vein Heaven Saint at the heart of the plaza to stare at them coldly.
“Just you wait. Little white dragon, you dared to insult the great Asura race. I, Luo Yujiao, will crush you in the Heavenly Flame Devil Domain,” declared that woman.
“Tch, as expected, you’re a mixed breed. The Asura race is always surnamed Xiuluo or Asura, but they don’t permit half-breeds to use that surname. People like you can only call themselves Xiu, Luo, or perhaps Luocha, Wutu[1], and other names to make themselves appear grand. Peh, the world has changed. Even mixed breeds dare to be so arrogant now,” sneered Long Chen.
After his encounters with the Nine Underworld Luocha, Long Chen sought out ancient tomes on the Asura race. Although his knowledge was basic, it was sufficient to provoke them where it hurt.
Luo Yujiao trembled with rage, her teeth clenched so hard they were about to shatter. Moreover, her pupils began to dilate, black ripples forming around them as if they were on the verge of spiraling out of control.
In response, Long Chen displayed an arrogant look, as if asking for a beating.
Many experts started to gather around them to take a look. When they saw Luo Yujiao, they let out startled cries. Although they weren’t even the ones being stared at by her, merely looking at her eyes made their souls feel as if they were being gripped by a thorny hand, pulling and tearing at them.
When they learned that this woman had the Asura bloodline, they were taken aback even more. After all, the name of the Asura race was enough to terrify people.
“Just you wait!” Luo Yujiao hissed at Long Chen before going around him.
Long Chen countered, “Hmph, I’m not your daddy. Why the hell should I wait for you?”
His mocking tone almost caused Luo Yujiao to explode as she walked past him. However, she managed to endure and quickened her footsteps as if afraid she would lose control and attack him. She had to find somewhere to vent.
Long Chen turned to Bai Yingxue. With a helpless tone, he said, “Sorry, I’m always surrounded by trouble. You’re going to be implicated.”
In truth, he didn’t want to cause trouble, but with his luck, he was a natural troublemaker. There was nothing he could do about it. Even when he hid his identity, his enemies still managed to find him. Just what was he supposed to do about that?
“Don’t worry. The bigger the mess, the better. That way, ‘the bell’ will be especially loud. That’s our goal in coming here,” said Bai Yingxue.
Long Chen smiled and continued leading the way in search of troubles. But then, Long Chen found that he had used up all his luck; there were no more troubles to attract.
With the remaining funds, Long Chen purchased two decent Heaven Saint divine weapons and a few protective treasures for Feng You and Hu Xiaoyu. He also acquired a fleeing formation for Bai Yingxue. They then returned to the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest.
Back at the nest, Long Chen introduced Feng You and Hu Xiaoyu to Bai Yingxuan. Learning that they were Long Chen’s old friends, Bai Yingxuan was pleased to let them stay.
Once back at his residence, Long Chen went into seclusion. He was about to check on the three dragon corpses when a delighted and emotional cry echoed through the primal chaos space.
“Big brother Long Chen!”
