Ye Chen could confirm it now that Little Tanuki was a Celestial Beast though he did not know what stage or power it belonged to. Hopefully, it would be able to shapeshift like the pangolin someday.

Ye Changxuan and Ye Zhantian looked at Ye Chen’s critter curiously. They could feel the same aura pulsing from the creature as it did to them. Now, they knew for certain Little Tanuki was a Celestial Beast and not a Mystical Beast. Most Celestial Beasts Tenth Stage and below did not possess any offensive power. Instead, they focus on cultivating their Psyche.

After a moment, Little Tanuki opened its eyes and hopped back onto Ye Chen’s shoulders.

Ye Chen knew Little Tanuki was not the same as before.

“What level are you now, Little Tanuki?” Ye Chen asked.

It made a sign using its fingers. To Ye Chen’s surprise, Little Tanuki had transformed into a rank ten Celestial Beast. He thought Little Tanuki would only go to rank eight or nine. Were rank ten Celestial Beast powerful beings? Then again, it did not seem to possess any offensive abilities apart from its Illusions. Before getting Earth-rank Adept Stage, most Celestial Beasts were incapable of combat. When they came face to face with a Beast on their level, they were far superior.

“Little Chen, you should eat the Millennial Fetal Ginseng. We’ll watch over you.” Ye Changxuan urged Ye Chen.

Ye Chen nodded. Back then, whenever he had ingested any form of medicinal pills, the effects were barely visible. Ye Chen rather activate the Flying Dagger from his consciousness and absorb some of its Celestial Chi. However, he wanted to see what the Millennial Fetal Ginseng would do to him. He sat on the floor and ate the ginseng before assuming a meditative stance and began consolidating his Celestial Chi.

Ye Chen’s body absorbed the ginseng the moment it went into his stomach. After integrating with the Celestial Chi in his meridian channels, it became a part of his body’s Celestial Chi. Hus Celestial Chi had surely become more concentrated though the effects seemed meager.

How was that possible? The effects of the ginseng had not subsided although it was completely absorbed. In theory, Ye Chen would have advanced to the next stage. Why was there not a single thing happening?

Ye Chen’s Celestial Chi did not improve substantially but his meridian channels felt enhanced and smoother. Ye Chen looked into his Celestial Chi and found that the ginseng had been absorbed by the Nine Astra located in his energy center. There was a change in its swirling pattern and it spun around quicker now, though there were no significant improvements apart from that.

Ye Chen was disappointed to find that the ginseng did not bring any significant effect to him, not even a stage advancement. In the end, he decided to activate the Flying Dagger. While doing so, the torrent Celestial Chi that came forth was two-fold stronger. It coursed through his meridian channels and straight into his energy center where the Nine Astra had completely absorbed it.

Soon, his Celestial Chi began to react vigorously like boiling water. One moment, Ye Chen was swiftly whisked to the barrier of top Eighth Stage and the next, the barrier shattered and the Nine Astra was spinning at a greater speed. Ye Chen was happy to see that his Celestial Chi had broken through low Ninth Stage and ascended to mid-Ninth Stage.

Ye Chen’s Celestial Chi had advanced but what about the Astral Body? Ye Chen projected his Astral Body and a large specter emerged. Above him, the knight clad in golden armor seemed to have significantly grown in power. It seemed to be thicker in essence. With one thought from his mind, the knight rose five to six meters ahead. He wondered if the specter was strong in combat, especially when it came to fighting with a beast’s Psyche.

Ye Chen steered his Astral Body around, clearly excited.

Back at the East Residence, Mingyuan was helping himself to a large serving of roasted meat specially prepared by the Ye Clan members. He chewed while shoving more meat into his mouth. At the same time, he mused about how humans knew how to roast their meat. It made sense that the Daemon King would willingly integrate himself into human society.

Just then, Mingyuan felt a presence. He looked above and sent his Psyche forward, only to recoil in horror. Far up ahead in the air was the knight in golden armor that he had seen earlier that afternoon, now stronger and ferocious than before. It was much more menacing compared to what Leo King could conjure. The sheer pressure from the Psyche gave him goosebumps as if it could crush his Psyche with ease. He immediately recalled his Psyche.

Mingyuan gasped for air as his Psyche returned. His eyes spoke of indescribable horror. Such a terrifying Psyche! The Daemon King was a strong man!

Mingyuan clutched onto his chest and gave it a little pat to calm his violent heartbeats. He had relayed whatever he saw to Leo King.

After a little fun, Ye Chen recalled his Astral Body and continued to channel his Celestial Chi. He exhaled, opened his eyes to find Ye Changxuan and Ye Zhantian looking at him in concern.

“How was it, Little Chen? Did you manage to advance?”

“Did your Celestial Chi improve?”

“Yeah.” Ye Chen nodded.

The two elder man were delighted after hearing Ye Chen’s answer. They were far happier for him than they were when they had advanced.

“What’s your level of power now, Little Chen?” Ye Zhantian asked. Most people’s power level could be inferred from the vibration of their Celestial Chi. For Ye Chen, however, even if his stage were lower than theirs, they could not infer a thing.

“About mid-Ninth Stage I guess,” Ye Chen thought before answering.

Mid-Ninth Stage? Little Chen’s powers had already reached mid-Ninth Stage? The crowd finally realized that Ye Chen was not Ninth Stage before but top Eighth Stage. Ye Chen had no troubles going toe to toe with a Ninth Stage combatant while he was at the peak of Eighth Stage!

“I wonder what’s Little Chen’s power level now.” Ye Changxuan mused. It must be top Ninth Stage now. That way, the Ye Clan would have five top Ninth Stage combatants!

Three top Ninth Stage defenders and two peak rank nine beasts in a clan. That was a thing to be envied by many! Very quickly, the news spread like wildfire across the castle. When the people in the Ye Castle first heard about it, they were skeptical. After confirming the piece of news, they passed the information along.

“Sixth Uncle, our clan has grown way stronger than before! We should reclaim the mines behind the mountains and get even with the Yun Clan!” Ye Zhanlong clenched his fist as he spoke to Ye Changxuan.

The rest of the members grew angry at the mention of the Yun Clan. They turned to Ye Changxuan for opinion.

“What do you think, Ye Chen?” Ye Changxuan consulted Ye Chen.

“I’ll leave the Yun Clan to you, Second Uncle and Third Uncle. You can take Fluffy One and Fluffy Two with you, Grandpa.” Three top Ninth Stage combatants, two mid-rank nine beasts – that should be enough to face the Yun Clan.

“I’m coming along.”

“Same here,” Ye Meng and the rest of the youths chimed in.

After a series of discussions, Ye Changxuan took a group of ten with him along with Fluffy One and Fluffy Two and departed from the Ye Castle for the Yun Castle. With so many proficient fighters, the Yun Clan was guaranteed to suffer this time. Even Yun Yiyang who was a mid-Ninth Stage combatant would have no means of retaliating!

This was a decisive battle for both clans and a matter of survival of the fittest. The Yun Clan tried to massacre their clan previously. Now, they would give them no mercy.
