Nine Evolutions of the True Spirit

Chapter 263: Threaten

Chapter 263: Threaten

Dom… dom… dom…

Their hearts drummed to the sound of his footsteps. A murderous aura diffused into the room, causing the people inside it to become wrought with trepidation.

Lu Ping entered the room and glanced at them with a gaze as sharp as blades. Hong Ying’s face immediately paled and he involuntarily took a step back, Chu Ting and Li Xiu-Zhu looked grave, and even Chilian Ying couldn’t help but sit up straight.

“Did the two of you try to break in?” Lu Ping’s voice was deep and calm as usual, without a trace of anger in his words.

Li Xiu-Zhu was about to answer, but Chu Ting’s face suddenly changed and she pulled Li Xiu-Zhu back, and said, “Brother Lu, the Alchemy conference began five days ago. Tomorrow the competition between the clans’ alchemists will take place, yet you were still in closed-door cultivation. Have you forgotten your promise?”

“I only promised the Li Clan to participate in the Alchemy Conference for the competition between the clans. Have I missed that competition?”

Lu Ping knew that Chu Ting wanted to find a reason to justify her actions, but he naturally wouldn’t let her stop his momentum, and said, “Impeding one’s cultivation is akin to killing them. The two of you intend to put an end to my cultivation?”

Chu Ting snorted coldly, and gave him a mocking sneer, “Brother Lu, you are overestimating your talent. If you are afraid to compete with other alchemists, you can always withdraw, just be direct and let us know. The Li Clan won’t stop you, so why are you being so pushy, do you think we will be afraid because of your attitude?”

The two young ladies naturally knew the implications of their actions, but Chu Ting insisted on breaking in anyway. Besides the importance of the Alchemy Conference in her plan, the most important reason was that she still viewed Lu Ping as just an ordinary Late Blood Condensation Realm cultivator.

Even if their intrusion had caused damage to Lu Ping’s cultivation, she thought that they, as Enlightened Masters, could easily stabilize his condition on the spot. Then, in her capacity as a Master Alchemist, she could always find ways to fix or compensate for his loss.

Just as Chu Ting finished speaking, an overwhelming pressure descended upon her. Although Lu Ping had yet to achieve the Core Forging Realm, his divine revelation was no weaker than Second Layer Core Forging Realm Enlightened Masters.

Chu Ting, being both an alchemist and a Core Forging Realm cultivator, had a divine revelation that was also no weaker than a Second Layer Core Forging Realm Enlightened Master. Hence, when she felt Lu Ping’s divine revelation pressing towards her, she sneered coldly and thought about how naive he was to overestimate himself and miscalculate the difference in their strengths.

However, immediately, Chu Ting’s mocking expression changed to utter shock, as she exclaimed in her heart, How is this possible!?

Lu Ping’s divine revelation was no weaker than hers, and because he had the advantage of striking first, his divine revelation took over more than half of the room, suppressing her divine revelation in her corner of the room.

But Chu Ting was an Enlightened Master after all, so although her divine revelation was being suppressed, she still held her ground firmly, and there was nothing Lu Ping could do about that.

We are Hosted Nov3l, find us on g00gle.

Little did he know how shocked Chu Ting was right now.

I only gave him the [Divine Revelation Transcendence] recently. However, not only has he already successfully cultivated it, he’s even mastered his divine revelation? The degree of control and grasp over his divine revelation is no weaker than an actual Enlightened Master!

Chu Ting had spent nearly half a year in order to successfully cultivate the secret technique, and even had to slow down her cultivation progress because of the inhumane pain caused by the secret technique. Even after she had succeeded, she still took another year to skillfully control her divine revelation.

Lu Ping’s divine revelation rippled like an undulating ocean, with wave after wave of divine revelation pouncing on Chu Ting’s divine revelation, while she fought back fiercely. Even though the confrontation was intensifying, Lu Ping still maintained the upper hand.

Suddenly, another divine revelation entered into the conflict. The divine revelation belonged to Li Xiu-Zhu, who had stepped in to separate them and stop the confrontation!

Lu Ping naturally knew Li Xiu-Zhu’s intention, and knew that she had no bad intentions. However, her friendship with Chu Ting made it impossible for her to be impartial, not to mention that he also had the upper hand.

Li Xiu-Zhu’s divine revelation wasn’t as strong as the two of them, but it was like a sharp knife; a reflection of her unyielding personality. However, her divine revelation sided with Chu Ting slightly, with a sharpness directed at Lu Ping!

Lu Ping gave a cold snort, and his divine revelation suddenly changed. The waves of divine revelation stalled and receded, giving Chu Ting a chance to pull back her divine revelation. Chu Ting was overjoyed and quickly withdrew her divine revelation.

Suddenly, Lu Ping’s ocean-like divine revelation swirled like a huge maelstrom. Li Xiu-Zhu’s divine revelation, that was stabbing towards him like a knife, spun out of her control and was sucked into the maelstrom.

Bang

Li Xiu-Zhu’s divine revelation was torn apart and destroyed, causing her to feel a sudden dizziness, with tiny streams of blood flowing out from her nose and mouth. Fortunately, she only used a small part of her divine revelation, so the wound wasn’t major.

Chu Ting looked at Lu Ping in disbelief, who looked back with a pair of cold eyes. Hong Ying wore an incredulous expression mixed with excitement, while Chilian Ying frowned and was deep in thought.

“I know you are anxious about the Alchemy Conference, but that is not a good enough reason for you to break in and impede my cultivation. I will only forgive you this once, do it again, and you will end up dead.”

Lu Ping spoke with his usual indifference, before then turning around to leave. Suddenly, he remembered something, turned his head back, and said, “I will be there tomorrow on my own. You are not welcome here.”

Then, Lu Ping left the meeting room. Hong Ying smiled apologetically towards the three of them and ran after Lu Ping with an excited expression.

Even when injured, Li Xiu-Zhu was still gentle and quiet. Chu Ting on the other hand looked unhappy and indignant.

Chu Ting had been accepted as Maiden Pavilion’s direct disciple since she was a child. She had always been a prodigy, excelling in both cultivation and alchemy, and was unrivaled amongst her peers. Furthermore, she was also an intelligent strategist that had helped her teacher take care of Maiden Pavilion from a young age.

Chu Ting had always been a prideful and graceful swan, she had never suffered a loss or failed in anything before. But this time, not only did Lu Ping condemn her and suppress her divine revelation, he even threatened her life!

Worst of all, she was an Enlightened Master whilst Lu Ping wasn’t even one yet!

It took her a long time to bring herself out from her stupor. But when she thought back to Lu Ping’s threat, she couldn’t help but laugh in anger. She turned to Chilian Ying, and said, “He dared to threaten me? Hahaha, what a joke. I’d like to see how he can kill me.”

Chu Ting got up and was about to go after Lu Ping, but she felt someone pulling her back. It was Li Xiu-Zhu.

Chu Ting turned around, and said, “Let go of me, Junior Sister Li. I will show him what an Enlightened Master is truly capable of. If he thinks that cultivating the [Divine Sense Transcendence] makes him equivalent to Enlightened Masters, then he is terribly wrong. The difference in our strengths is not something a secret technique can make up.”

“If I were you, I wouldn’t go make a fool of myself!”

“What?” Chu Ting stopped and looked at Chilian Ying who had just spoken.

Chilian Ying returned to her usual look of indolence. Her hand covered a yawn as she walked to the door. Before stepping through the door, she looked back, and said, “That wasn’t a joke. He really is capable of doing so, and he will do it.”

Chu Ting was dumbfounded. Her mind turned blank and she didn’t know what to say. She watched as Chilian Ying walked away, while her words reverberated in her mind, “He really is capable of doing so… he will do it…”
