Chapter 36 [Mirror Of Helioquie]
"Walter, this isn't the cultivation world." Helix sighed in exasperation.
He immediately knew that he wouldn't get out of this situation.
As a result, he decided to fall back on his regular tactics.
"Even if it was, you are playing the wrong role." He added.
"Hah! I'm playing the wrong role, you pathetic ant!?" Walter growled.
"Yeah, you are. In cultivation novels, there are always weak people that offend the strong and get massacred right after." Helix sighed.
"You're not even in the ten most powerful people in our peers." He chuckled.
"Hahahaha! This is coming from the weakest person!" Walter roared.
Helix sighed.
"If people believed that, I wouldn't have a movement to exile me for being dangerous.
Who started that rumor, [Walter]?" He asked in exasperation.
Walter's eyes became murderous.
"That was me treating you with generosity.
But that whore ridiculed me, and you will pay for it." Walter proclaimed with killing intent.
"Do you know what power is, Walter?
Do you know how it works in the real world?" Helix asked.
"How, you tiny ant!?" Walter growled.
"See, you're not even in the top ten strongest people.
Marie and Lina are tied, but the next set of strongest people are Atlas, Charlotte, and Riley.
Three people dislike me but don't want to murder me, and the rest are my friends." Helix sighed.
"I'm weak, sure. However, if you touch me, your bones are going to get shattered into a million pieces and your penis is going to be displayed as a flag."
Helix's eyes were murderous, and bloodlust was oozing from his pores.
"Macron has evidence to lock you up in prison for hiring guards to kidnap Mira Iris.
And there's someone else more powerful than them who will execute you on the spot." He warned.
"On earth, presidents are usually old people without combat experience.
Yet they lead armies and have unfathomable power.
They don't get that level of power because they have special powers or murder people that offend them.
They get that way by building relationships with powerful people who will come to their aid.
That is the power I have, and it makes yours look like a joke."
Helix's eyes narrowed, and he sent Walter a soul-shattering gaze.
"Lastly, and most importantly, I'm not someone you can afford to offend.
Three people have tried to kill me.
Two had their cultivation crippled, and the third lost an arm, all of their friends, and is on the verge of suicide.
The women have shunned those that have risen against me.
There's proof of your crime that will have four Nightmares stripped by the end of this week.
And if you try to kill those I love, I will unleash the most frightening familiar I can to kill you all.
If you continue to be unreasonable, pray for death.
Because if you don't, you will suffer a fate far worse."
Nine of the ten stepped back in terror.
Helix had never threatened or raised a hand against them in the past.
However, he had warned them of all of the challenges and trials they've had to endure challenging him.
The idea he would actively wield that power was horrifying to them.
And they knew he wasn't joking.
The bloodlust emanating from Helix was palpable.
Walter stood frozen in shock and disbelief.
He felt as weak and powerless as he did on earth, and the feeling washed over him in droves.
Something inside the young man snapped.
"The strong eat the weak… the strong eat the weak… the only way to get stronger is by fighting those that stand before you…."
Helix's heart started pounding when he heard the words coming from Walter's mouth.
While he had instilled fear and reality into the hearts and achieved his goal, he created a problem he couldn't have foreseen.
Walter's reaction wasn't normal.
No one could fault Helix, but that didn't make him feel better.
"If you continue to be weak, you'll never be in the top ten… you will keep letting Helix steal everything you love from you…."
"Walter! Let's go! We're not strong enough—"
A loud crash resounded in the alleyway, and everyone froze in disbelief.
"Sigmund? Sigmund!? What the hell did you just do, Walter!?" A young man cried out.
"Sigmund! Are you okay!?" Another cried.
"He's still breathing. He's just knocked out!
Hurry, let's get him out of this building before it collapses!"
"Okay!"
Walter had hit Sigmund with the back of his fist.
The attack sent the boy through the wall of a building that looked unstable.
The defense stat on the Knights' bodies enveloped them in a defensive shield of spirit particles.
Therefore, the young man was lucky he didn't suffer grave injuries.
However, if the building collapsed, he would still die.
His organs and brain were rattled from the physical force as well.
The defense stat wasn't an unbreakable invisibility barrier.
"Walter! Why did you do that to Sigmund!?" Another man cried out.
"He was an ant! That's why! Unless it's Lina, you don't have a right to speak to me!" Walter roared.
"This isn't funny, Walter!" A voice cried out.
"Not funny? Yeah. I agree. Helix has left me no choice.
If I don't accept compensation for his offense, my life is over!" Walter declared.
Helix stared at the young man with a racing heart.
Walter walked over to him slowly, with madness swirling in his eyes.
He was half a tick away from snapping and having a permanent mental breakdown.
"Step aside, Helix. You've stolen what I love, so I'm going to steal what you love from you."
Helix froze in disbelief.
Walter would be thoroughly tortured, maimed, and executed if he touched Emelia.
The action would guarantee his death sentence, whether it was at the hands of his friends, his girlfriends, Macron, or Eliza.
However, that didn't matter if Walter was willing to harm her regardless of the consequences.
"You want compensation?" Helix asked.
Walter froze and stared at him with eyes filled with madness.
"What will you offer?" He asked.
"The Eye of Beauty has a matching legendary artifact." He replied calmly.
He reached into his item storage and pulled out a mirror.
"It's called the Mirror of Helioquie."
Helix held the mirror before the group.
"Last week I left on a trip outside of Alzeria to obtain this item using the Myriad Library and a group of soldiers." He explained.
The ten people looked at the mirror with awe.
"What does it do?" Walter asked with an evil grin.
"It grants a charm stat to your system." Helix explained.
"It also gives fifty points to it, which will draw women or men to you.
By leveling up the stat, the person that uses this artifact will obtain a mythical-grade harem."
A commotion instantly broke out amongst the ten people challenging him.
Lina's mental state became crazed and lost rationality.
"There is only [one] person that can use this artifact.
I will give it to the person that provides me and Emelia safe passage back to my quarters." Helix offered with a serious gaze.
"Then I'll do it!" A man cried out.
"No, I'll be the one to protect you!" Another cried out.
"Shut up, grunts! I'm going to take it!" Walter yelled as he prepared to rush Helix.
However, his body was drenched in water and shocked by a savage bolt of electricity.
Walter seized on the ground.
"Hah. Trying to take what's rightfully mine?
Know your place, little ant!" Lina huffed as she walked over to Helix.
Madness was in Lina's eyes.
Helix was holding her dream.
His eyes filled with sadness as he saw Lina's approaching figure.
"Did you just…." He whispered in disbelief.
"Hah. That ant isn't even worth my time.
I lowered the voltage.
So the ungrateful pest should be grateful that he won't die after trying to steal from me." Lina snorted.
"I see… so will you lead me back to my living quarters, Lina?" He asked with pain-filled eyes.
"Humph! You act like you have room to negotiate, Helix!" She scoffed.
"I can kill you right now and get it that way anyway.
So why should I?" She asked.
"What happened to you, Lina?
What did I do to you to make you hate me this much?" He whispered.
"What happened to me!? What did you do to make me hate you this much!?" She screeched.
"You've done everything in your power to take which is rightfully mine!"
Helix looked at the young woman in disbelief.
Her unnaturally beautiful gold locks shone in the moonlight and made her appear inhumane.
"I haven't tried to take anything from you…." He replied with wide eyes.
Emelia was quivering behind Helix with a terrified expression.
"What!? What a joke! Ever since we've come here, you've had to outdo everything I've done!" She yelled.
"Do you know how much of a fool you made me on the second day here!?" Lina screamed.
"What… did I do? I was not even conscious." He replied.
"It started with that wench behind you!" She scoffed.
