Chapter 20 [Helix’s Wish]
The arena burst into bewildered laughter.
"If your opponent has the lowest stats and least combat experience and still enters your death match voluntarily…." Helix said while starting at Phillip in the eyes.
"You should show be terrified and realize something's wrong."
Phillip started shaking in fear, and the area calmed down in shock.
"I'm not planning to die, so I'm not going to say goodbye." He proclaimed with a bitter smile.
"However, I have a thank you, an apology, and a request."
Macron raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"First, thank you to everyone that showed me support today.
I hate Myriad, broken ribs, and people trying to kill me." He chuckled bitterly.
"I never wanted to come here.
I miss my family, and I never understood how incredible normal bathrooms are until I showed up here."
The crowd chuckled in between sobs and strained breaths.
"However, not everything in Myriad is bad.
I've met many great people here, and I'm glad we can share memories in the future.
I have tickle fights with a cute, unconditionally loyal woman nearly every night.
I earned the honorary title of simp after unrealistically beautiful women approached me after being kind to said woman.
Now I'm a certified damsel with three full-time female bodyguards.
It seems the nicer I am, the more I'm noticed.
That's the most un-cliche thing I've experienced." Helix laughed.
The women laughed between tears, and the men looked away with shame in their eyes.
"I have a great teacher that cares about me.
And there are innumerable people amongst the Knights that have kept my depressingly weak ass safe from danger.
The food isn't bad, and the paycheck, wheeeeeeew!
It's like I'm earning full-time hazard pay on holidays here."
Light laughter spread through the crowd.
"So thank you, everyone." Helix said with a warm smile.
After a moment of silence, Helix let out a sigh.
"I'm not one for sentimentalities, but I've gotten super mushy because I need to apologize in advance." He announced ominously.
His words captured the attention of the crowd.
"I have a seriously fucked up Nightmare I can't control.
I'd suggest standing behind a guard and staring at their back until this fight is over.
No, I'm requesting that you do that.
What you're about to experience may not bother you personally.
But at least one person here is about to have the worst day of their life."
—At least one person here is about to have the worst day of their life—
Murmurs spread through the crowd like wildfire after he said those words.
"I also apologize because there may be lasting repercussions from this fight.
I'm not the protagonist that the kingdom is hiding as a secret weapon to kill the Mad Queen of Myriad.
I can't practice with you because my Nightmare is extremely dangerous for reasons you can't imagine." Helix asserted.
"If you look at Macron's face right now, you'll see a beautiful display of the expression known as wincing.
He isn't acting, and neither am I.
Please stand behind the guards and stare at their backs.
That's a formal request." Helix requested with a pained expression.
Helix looked into the stands.
"Emelia. Please shut your eyes and don't open them until I ask you to open them again.
That isn't a request; that's an order."
Emelia's eyes widened with shock.
She realized that Helix had never ordered her to do something directly.
However, she quickly closed her eyes.
Many people followed his request and moved behind the guards wearing pale expressions.
"Lastly, I have a request!" Helix announced loudly.
"If I survive this battle, please share your stats with me.
That way, I never have to use this fucked up Nightmare again!"
The Knights in the audience didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his final declaration.
However, everyone felt the impact of his words.
Helix turned to Macron.
"I'm ready. You can start the fight whenever."
Macron nodded with a hesitant expression.
"I'm beginning the countdown in ten seconds.
During that time, I'd suggest you take Helix's warning seriously.
If you act tough and don't take it seriously, you only have yourself to blame!" Macron yelled.
"Your ten seconds start now!"
Over half of the ex-virgins followed Helix's request after Macron reiterated it.
However, none of his close friends dared to look away.
"Alright, your ten seconds are over.
The match will start in ten seconds.
Prepare yourself!"
"10!"
'Little Kaltrops.'
"9!"
'Little Kaltrops.'
"7!"
'Little Kaltrops.'
"6!"
'Little Kaltrops.'
"5!"
'Little Kaltrops.'
"4!"
'Please unlock a new skill!'
"3!"
'Virgin eaters!'
"2!"
'Macron threats!'
"1!"
'[Nightmare], activate!'
A split second later, there was a crashing sound outside the stadium.
Everyone in the audience instantly turned away from the fight.
'Goddamn it!' Helix screamed internally.
'Phillip's wide open and distracted, but I might as well be a snail right now.
He'll kill me reflexively if I attack!'
Bitterness welled in Helix's eyes when he realized that he couldn't attack the defenseless person in front of him.
If he had a paltry 100 agility, Phillip would already be missing a limb.
Unfortunately, a punch was more powerful than a 50-caliber sniper bullet in Myriad.
As a result, he couldn't attack haphazardly.
Once again, he was reminded that he wasn't in a video game.
Crunching sounds came from outside of the stadium.
Suddenly, a large, dark green object flew over the coliseum walls.
Macron's eyes widened with shock as he saw the green beast approaching at an abnormal speed.
Before anyone could process what happened, they were already staring at two dark yellow reptilian eyes.
The royal guard's faces went pale as they stared at the beast.
Describing the beast as a love child between a Velociraptor and a Tyrannosaurus Rex was an inspired description.
Scientists on earth had long discovered that dinosaurs had feathers.
However, the beast was a classic depiction from a blockbuster film.
It had dark green scales, stood on two legs, and had small arms.
On its face was a powerful set of jaws with sharp yellow teeth.
And the part that terrified the ex-virgins and guards alike was its size.
While it had the body of a velociraptor, it was half the size of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
"Kekekeke…."
The terrifying reptile sniffed the air as it turned its head to gaze at everyone in the crowd.
It walked forward slowly.
The frozen humans in its path quickly moved away slowly with every step.
Helix feared that the dust that exploded from the reptile's feet wouldn't give the illusion away.
He smelled the air, praying this sick skill was better than a fancy light trick.
"Kekekeke…. keke…. kek."
The monster approached Helix and stood between him and Phillip.
"K-Kal-ltrop…."
"K-Kaltrop…."
"H-How can a Kaltrop be that b-big…."
The Kaltrop glared at the men speaking with a narrowed gaze.
The guards froze.
"Kekeke…. Keke…."
After fifteen gruesome seconds, the Kaltrop's eyes filled with murderous rage.
Before anyone could react, the Kaltrop swung its head over to Phillip.
The boy looked at the reptile's eyes with true fear in his own.
The Kaltrop sniffed the air in front of him, lifted its body, and opened its large jaws slowly.
Phillip saw the razor-sharp smile of death glaring at him.
"G-Get away…." Philip stuttered.
"G-Get away from me….!"
The reptile sucked in a sharp, screeching breath and pumped out its chest.
"GYARRRRRRRRRAAAAH!"

[A/N: Do you want to know what is more ridiculous than the above line?
Roar.
Lol.
Roar! Bark! Howl! Literal onomatopoeia drive me mental.
I read them and I stop taking battles seriously.
So make fun of me. It's rare, but you have my trash talk blessing. ;)
If you do like it, let me know. I'm interested in your opinions.]
