Luo Zheng wished she could roll her eyes. How could I not be worried? The expensive things in my room keep going missing for no reason. Did they run away on their own?
“Wait a minute... ”
She closed the door immediately.
Feeling exasperated about the fact that the door almost hit her nose, Auntie Li humphed coldly in displeasure.
Although Luo Zheng had always had a bad temper, she was still always afraid of Old Madam. Auntie Li could not help but wonder what was going on.
Forget it, Old Madam will definitely teach her a lesson when she goes downstairs later! She will be in for a lesson!
With a throbbing headache, Luo Zheng opened her closet, only to see that her clothes were all tacky... She frowned gently and rummaged through her closet before finally settling on a normal piece of clothing, even though it was from the past seasons. She then put it on casually.
Luo Zheng finally left her room and made her way downstairs slowly.
Li Shufen sat in the middle of the hall with a middle-aged couple beside her, Mu Tianwei and Mu Cuiyun.
The two of them were Li Shufen’s children, Luo Zheng’s father and aunt respectively!
Mu Cuiyun married a husband who was an alcoholic and gambling addict. When he got drunk, he would even exact violence on Mu Cuiyun. Hence, she had no choice but to get a divorce... after which she moved into the mansion with her daughter self-righteously and treated it like her own home.
The mansion used to belong to Luo Zheng’s mother but was now encroached upon by the Mu Family.
The Luo Family was one of the four most glorious and prestigious families in Beijing.
Back then, Mu Tianwei was still a young and penniless chap who happened to chance upon the Luo Family and got married into the Luo Family... Hence, Luo Zheng took her mother’s surname and was the heiress of the Luo Family whom no one dared to bully.
Unfortunately, her mother passed away at a young age and she was only 10 years old at the time.
Luo Zheng’s maternal grandparents could initially tell that Mu Tianwei was extremely greedy and thus wanted to bring Luo Zheng back with them... However, Mu Tianwei deliberately brainwashed Luo Zheng and made her detest the Luo Family, thus making her refuse to go home with them.
Since then, she rarely contacted the Luo Family and began to grow distant from them.
“Why is Grandma looking for me so bright and early in the morning?”
Luo Zheng walked towards the dining table gracefully and took a seat while everyone else watched her.
Seemingly having failed to discover that something was wrong, she picked up the glass of milk and took a sip out of it. “Don’t you guys have to eat breakfast?”
“Bastard, how dare you have the cheek to eat instead of apologizing!?!”
Li Shufen slammed her cane against the ground forcefully.
If given the past, Luo Zheng would definitely scurry towards her out of fear... However, times have changed and Luo Zheng was no longer the way she used to be. Luo Zheng smiled and said, “Grandma, you’re old in your years. You’d better refrain from getting angry, lest something happens to you!”
“Zheng, what nonsense are you spouting!?!”
Mu Tianwei’s face grew sullen as he interjected austerely.
Mu Tianwei was born in the village and was blindly filial towards Li Shufen!
Mu Tianwei walked towards Luo Zheng and looked at her with his back facing Li Shufen and the rest. He said softly with a benevolent expression on his face, “Did you provoke Grandma again? Don’t worry, I’m here. Everything will be fine as long as you apologize!”
Luo Zheng felt absolutely repulsed and nauseous at the sight of him pretending to be a benevolent father.
In her previous lifetime, Mu Tianwei pretended to be a benevolent father and deceived Luo Zheng... Whenever his mother and sister nitpicked on Luo Zheng, he would stand up for her and defend her!
Unfortunately, it was just one of his murderous tricks, partly to make her trust him completely and be his loyal dog... and partly to make her become a fool who could not tell right from wrong. He wanted her to become a willful child whom everyone detested!
Luo Zheng pouted and exclaimed aggrievedly, “Father, I really don’t know what wrong I’ve done! You’re making me apologize to Grandma without even getting your facts right. You don’t love me at all!”
