In the Water Region, Floating Island.

"Damn it ... .when he is going to invade my region. I am tired of waiting."

On the other hand, the Veiled Vampire Emperor had already made some preparations for his fight against the new ruler.

However, it's been a year since he was waiting for the invasion from the new ruler.

During the last one year, he was living with an anxious heart despite making some preparations for the fight.

Someone who was able to defeat Aveline in his own region and took in the ruler of the other two regions as his subordinates…how could he live in peace?

Just the rulers of the Wind and the Earth regions would be sufficient to severely injure and the ruler along with his other three powerful contracted spirit beasts, would be a piece of cake for killing him.

Therefore, he was constantly worrying about it and even had nightmares while sleeping.

As a Vampire, Maximus's cultivation entirely depends on sleep. With sufficient cultivation resources and proper sleep, they could steadily increase their cultivation.

Thanks to those nightmares, it's been a year since he had a proper sleep. As for the cultivation, there was no progress in it as it remained the same as it was before.

'Do you guys see anything?'

For a moment, Maximus closed his eyes and enquired about the signs of someone entering the Water Region.

'Master, I see no one.'

The Veiled Vampires that were stationed at the boundaries were also getting frustrated at the fact that their Master had asked the same question more than 1000 times in the past one year.

Moreover, during the entire year, these Veiled Vampire Soldiers were working without going to their homes, making them frustrated too.

Nevertheless, the Vampires were strict with their hierarchy and wouldn't disobey their master even if they were beaten to death.

"What the hell is he planning?"

If Ajax had invaded his region already, Maximus would have not worried this much. Either he would have killed the new ruler or he would have died himself in the hands of that new ruler.

'I am very sure that he would be invading my region instead of challenging me using his rulership. So, there is still a chance that I can defeat him.'

The only thing that Maximus was happy about was that Ajax would be entering his region and he was 100 percent sure about it.

Since the two rulers have become the new ruler's subordinates along with the ruler's three contracted spirit beasts, going through an official duel for Ajax would be not advantageous because he could not use any contracted spirit beasts or subordinates.

Hence, Maximus has increased the number of guards on every corner of his region who always kept watching for the so-called invader that their master was waiting for.

'Master, I see someone. A human is coming with some spirit beasts.'

Suddenly, Maximus receives a voice transmission from one of his Vampire Servants, making him excited.

"Finally…that b*stard is here."

Whether he would win the battle or not, was a secondary thing for Maximus.

All he wanted was to quickly wrap up the new ruler's invasion and get an outcome because he was unable to bear the tension of the invasion anymore.

'Everyone, retreat to the Blood Pond. No need to guard the boundaries anymore.'

Soon, Maximus came out of his thoughts and hurriedly ordered the Vampire Guards.

The reason why Maximus put so many Vampire Guards on the boundaries was to keep an eye on Ajax.

Among the all rulers, there was only one human ruler and even though humans were entering the Floating Island from the Five Elemental Human Worlds, they wouldn't dare to travel to another region risking their lives fighting the Unevolved Spirit Beasts in the Wilderness.

The only one who would do that was none other than the new ruler who wanted to invade his region.

'Swoosh'

As soon as they received the orders, hundreds of thousands of Vampire Guards with the strength of normal Emperor Realm flew towards the center of the Water Region.

In the center of the Water Region, there was a huge red-coloured pond and Maximus was already waiting for his Vampire Guards there.

"Master."

Seeing their Master, all Vampire Guards respectfully greeted them and before Maximus could order them, they walked to the Blood Pond and dropped a single drop of their blood.

'Drip'

'Drop'

With a single drop of blood from hundreds of thousands of Vampire Guards, the level of blood in the Blood Pond increased and it started overflowing.

'Now, it is my turn.'

The entire process took five minutes and after it was finished, Maximus also did the same thing as his Vampire Guards.

'Guggle'

In the next second, the seemingly calm but overflowing blood in the Blood Pond started boiling and the speed at which it was overflowing increased.

'Swoosh'

The blood from the Blood Pond slowly but steadily flowed in all directions.

Just like how the Fire Region was filled with Volcanoes, the Metal Region with metallic stones, and the Water Region covered many water bodies, small and big.

With the overflow of the blood from the Blood Pond, these water bodies also turned red and soon, they started overflowing, eventually, all the water bodies turned red in the entire Water Region.

From a sky view, the water region which used to look blue and not turned bright red.

"The first step is completed and the moment he enters my Water Region, I can begin my other steps."

Maximus, despite being worried about Ajax's invasion, was excited about the upcoming fight with Ajax.

It was because, as long as he kills Ajax, the entire Floating Island becomes his and he could enter the Core Region of the Floating Island and take the Divine Artifact.

Like Aveline, Maximus also had the same dream and it was to conquer all the regions of the Floating Island and enter the Core Region in which a Divine Artifact was stored.
