Chapter 35: Saving The Already Abandoned Noda Village
Chapter 35: Saving The Already Abandoned Noda Village
Ibro just stepped foot into the bridge, to feel a very old familiar traction force he didn't feel long time ago. At this moment, he suddenly remembered his long forgotten, bravely sacrificed Dronil.
Ibro sighed, as he was deeply immersed in jumping from world to world, solving disaster after disaster, and amidst it all he forgot what really mattered to him.
His time was short, as it didn't give him the opportunity to even lament on his bad luck and tedious life. Once he exited the bridge, he felt a severe shake that caused him to lose balance for a moment there.
Ibro felt danger, as he knew where he just appeared. When he was with Noda here, he installed the bridge inside her market. Feeling this severe hit meant the battle was already inside the village, if the village was still standing yet.
Ibro didn't waste any more second, as he darted, literally jumping from his place to appear outside the market, where he was welcomed with a vast scene of ruins, with broken building shadows appearing here and there.
The place was devastated, in a way that made his own village seemed a paradise in comparison. Standing there, all he could see were monsters, without a trace of any human.
'Was I too late?' Ibro muttered to himself, as he was feeling anger, swelling up inside him like a volcano, about to rupture.
'System, search for any survivors here,' Ibro ordered, as he was looking towards the monsters which started to notice his presence.
He had a bad premonition inside his heart, as he feared the worst. Monsters started to roar, as the system came with the news.
'They are evacuating the village, and now they are moving outside, towards a nearby forest.'
Ibro knew where they were heading, it was the first place he stepped foot on when he came here. Ibro sighed, as it seemed they had already lost hope, and from his short encounters with Noda and her brother from before, he knew they couldn't drop this village except if they were forced, like suffering heavy irresistible losses.
The roars of monsters kept rising, like a storm about to thunder, but Ibro wasn't interested in them.
'How much are there?' he asked his system.
'Monsters?' the system asked, 'monsters are endless, they are coming from the underground cave and from the surface.'
The system reply was simply annoying, so Ibro just ordered:
'We will use skills first, then we will use curses.'
''
The system had no opinion in that, while Ibro decided to use some infrequently used skills, such as the first thing he chose:
"Rally skill!"
A light flashed from the tip of his sword, held high in the air, to ascend rapidly to higher layers of sky, before exploding in a bright, eye-catchy form, performing a rally flash, like a beacon.
This beacon skill was initially a skill attached to the Reviv helmet Ibro was using, and it meant to raise the morals of his allies in a wide range area around him.
But Ibro improvised, and used it in a way to send a short message to his retreating allies away from him, a message saying: I'm back!
'Interesting opening,' the system said, 'what's next?' it said.
Ibro didn't reply, as he took out something from his Inventory. It was a long staff, a staff he never used before, Ognor staff.
'You want to boost your skills used from your class, interesting.'
Ibro ignored the system remarks, as he softly muttered:
"Twin Sword Whirlpool skill."
He had to admit, this skill was easier to use than the curse with almost no load over his body, but it wasn't even near his original curse devastating effect.
It was like a minor version, much calmer, cuter, and quieter, but it was suitable for this small space battlefield.
Ibro was in the heart of Noda's village, so even with all this destruction he couldn't fight with all his might. Plus, he wanted to attract Noda's eyes, and inform her about his identity.
He wanted them to return and hold the village, as he could go out and use all his skills and curses without his hands being tied like this.
His body moved, performing the stance, the move, and the strike portions of the skill, to form a huge whirlpool that started to move chaotically, killing any monster in its direction.
'Shouldn't you start summoning skeletons?' the system asked with doubt.
'Not yet,' Ibro replied, 'Noda and the others don't know I can summon skeletons,' he explained, before he muttered again:
"Twin Sword Whirlpool skill."
This time he threw his skill towards another direction. Just as he was ready to use his skill third time in a row, he heard the system notice, alerting him.
'Monsters are heading towards Noda and her people, as they are trying to return to the village.'
Ibro clenched his fist, the one holding the sword, tightly from anger. If he could just use his full powers without raising suspicions in them, then this fight would have been easier than ever.
Throwing all this regret behind him, he started to think of his other options, and soon he found a suitable solution.
"First block skill."
It was another skill of his helmet, the one that could defend him against a fixed number of attacks per target. As monsters closed up on him, he totally ignored these insects as he muttered:
"Holy sword skill."
"Dark Dinar summon skill."
Finally, Dark Ibro appeared once again, standing arrogantly, holding both a sword and a staff in his hand. This stance surprised Ibro, who didn't know his doppelganger could imitate even his weapons.
"You use Dragon Descent skill," Ibro issued his order to his black self, before he regained his focus again. The new Ibro started to use this killer skill, as each strike of his sword was transformed into a dragon that descended upon his enemy and killed him.
Single strike equaled one death, and that fulfilled the condition for reactivating instantly, which meant this skill could be used forever.
So, black Ibro started acting, transforming into a killer machine, like a sickle harvesting wheat. As for Ibro, he held his sword and staff as he started to use his AOE skill repeatedly, without reserve.
After all, all his MANA would be emptied until he got Noda and her group into safety, then he could unleash his true powers and fight using his curses.
'Lead the way to Noda's group,' Ibro said to his system, as he started to follow the system instructions to go towards the nearby forest, while black Ibro kept his distance, yet following, from far.
