Chapter 204: | 204 | Liberation Mission Rewards
As Laplace and Charlotte left Abraham alone in the Viceroy's luxurious office, silence began to permeate in the air. He remained frozen, with an aloof expression plastered on his face. Thoughts never to be known surged through his head, tackling the information he had gotten from his vice admiral.
'Casualties in war is natural.' After a short while, he sighed to himself, feeling mentally exhausted. 'However, death in the battlefield shouldn't be considered as the ordinary. Otherwise, the lives of my men would become mere numbers.' He continued his line of thought.
The primary thing he should focus was to try lowering the casualties of his subordinates during wartime. The only way to do so was to invest in magicraft and technology. With these two, it wouldn't take long before his very men becomes immortalized.
Though, this was for the far future. Increasing their medical technology would provide ample amount of security towards the lives of his personnel. Yet, Abraham soon shook his head as he realized that he was tackling too many things all at once.
It would become too much for him and the R&D Department. Instead, he should focus the general advancement of the United Navy and tasked the enhancement of medical technology along with it.
"That's a fairly good idea." Abraham muttered under his breath, the edges of his lips slowly rising. Calm slowly returning to his mind and heart, as the path forward became clearer than ever before. With a list of goal in mind, he would be delegated to completing them in an orderly manner.
The growth of the United Navy and the establishment of a nation in the following peaceful months was the path to the future. But as he had said before, it wouldn't be a smooth one. There would be resistance from the inside and the outside.
However, before he could continue to have his thoughts preoccupied with the ways of growing the United Navy along with the creation of a nation under his authority, a familiar mechanical bell rang inside his mind. It was reminder, and it was his hope.
Abraham was too distracted by his objectives, forgetting his most vital weapon against the fantasy world before him. The Naval Gacha System.
*Ding!*
●| Final Battle(Liberation Sub-Mission) |
➤| Final Battle Completion Requirements(Disbandment of the Colonial Dominion of Terra's Government) |
➤| Government of the Colonial Dominion Disbanded!(Calculating Rewards…) |
➤| Sub-Mission Status(Completed) |
Several notification windows materialized before his eyes along with the monotone voice of System resounded in his ears. A delighted smile formed on his face as he hadn't been satisfied for quite some time. A feeling better than winning a battle was getting the rewards after it.
"The last sub-mission is finally complete." Abraham mumbled to himself as the final battle was the concluding sub-mission of the Naval Task: Liberation. With its completion comes the rewards of the final sub-mission, along with the completion of the Naval Task.
| Congratulations, Fleet Admiral Abraham Shepherd! You have completed a Sub-Mission declared by the Naval Gacha System Apparatus, Systema! |
| Rewards will be given promptly in 3…2…1… |
| You have obtained 10,000 Naval Points(Naval Action Rewards) |
The rewards of the sub-mission froze the thoughts of the fleet admiral. He expected quite a hefty reward, but 10,000 Naval Points was more than what he had expected. Such amount would be enough for a second personal-power.
Though, before the thought of getting one intruded deeply in his mind, Abraham shook his head and threw it at the back of his thoughts. The reason was fairly simple. Superhuman was already enough for him. It gave him the chance to fight back or run away from his opponents.
Instead of investing too deeply into his powers, it would be better to invest towards the growth of the United Navy. With 10,000 Naval Points, the establishment of a nation wouldn't be too far in the future.
"The amount of warships or the sea-based assets I can get from 10,000 is already dumbfounding." Abraham muttered to himself, as the wonders of expanding his fleet or increasing his sea-based assets echoed inside his mind.
But, this wasn't even the end of it.
*Ding!*
| Liberation Mission has been earnestly followed through the completion of its Sub-Missions. Congratulations, you have completed the Second Mission of the Naval Gacha System Apparatus, Systema! |
| Liberation Mission Status(Completed) |
Abraham was bombarded with another round of notification from Systema. It was what he awaited after completing the concluding sub-mission, Final War. A smile creeped further into his face as he accepted the chiming of mechanical bells with a mental open-arms.
To the middle-aged man, it was nothing more but the sound of his rewards.
| Rewards will be given promptly in 3…2…1… |
He took a deep breath as excitement bottled up inside his mind and heart. He gazed at the digital notification which was counting down to zero. A bit of sweat dripped from his forehead, signifying his inner anxiousness of what was to come.
Then, it finally materialized.
| You have obtained 25,000 Naval Points(Mission Completion Reward), Installation-0 Citadel, Artificial-Islands(Unlocked), and the Seventh Fleet(Close-Approximate) |
Abraham read through his rewards and it was even more staggering than beforehand. He rubbed his eyes, unable to believe what he was seeing. But it remained in his perception unchanging afterward. What was before him was nothing more but the truth.
"25,000 Naval Points..." In total, he received 35,000 Naval Points in a single day. Though, thinking about it for a short moment, the Liberation Mission lasted several months, almost reaching an entire year. It was only his second mission after transmigrating into this fantasy world.
There was also Installation-0, which he found confusing. It's name was Citadel, and he wondered what its capabilities were as a Sea-Based Asset. Since it was an installation below the first one, it might be more capable than the Construction Yard Vulcan and the Port of Dawn combined.
Not only that, Artificial-Islands had been unlocked. He didn't know what their description was. But, it might be related to increasing his population without touching the local-ones. It would be a piece of good news if this theory was correct. It would solve the overarching problem of population.
However, he would have to investigate deeper. Obviously, it wouldn't be free and he would have to pay a price to deploy an Artificial-Island in the middle of the sea.
"I'll think about it later." Abraham muttered to himself, gazing at the final reward of the mission. It was most greatest reward he had ever gotten from the Naval Gacha System. He wondered if he had been blessed, or was the system beyond satisfied with how he had completed the mission?
In any case, the final reward was none other than the Seventh Fleet. The one and only, though a close-approximate.
Abraham wasn't ignorant of the biggest forward fleet of the United States of America. The Seventh Fleet was part of the Pacific Fleet, comprising of 50 to 70 ships. In these over half a hundred warships were destroyers, cruisers, submarines, and finally, aircraft carriers.
The emergence of the seventh fleet practically solidified the creation of a country under the authority of the United Navy.
"Damn." Such was the only word that escaped Abraham's lips. He didn't even know what to feel as the rewards the system had given him were beyond his ability to handle. A single one would have been enough to make him delighted for weeks. Now that he was given four extreme rewards, he was confused as to how to feel.
Though, before he could keep thinking about what he should feel from the rewards he had received. A mechanical bell rang inside his mind along with the monotone voice of his precious partner, Systema.
*Ding!*
| Due to the fairly sizeable rewards of the second mission, the Naval Gacha System has withhold the emergence of following rewards. Does the Fleet Admiral desire to utilize the rewards of the Liberation Mission? |
Fortunately, the rewards of the system wasn't immediately applied. He wouldn't have to handle the appearance of Installation-0 or the summoning of the seventh fleet.
Abraham sighed in relief and wiped the sweat over his forehead. To think he would be relieved from not handling too much resources for the United Navy. Well, his worry was understandable. After all, he was only one. No matter how strong, or smart he had become.
Overworking would be troublesome to handle.
'Let's handle it one by one.' He quietly thought to himself and gazed forward into the digital screen of Systema. "Systema, can I utilize two rewards at a time?" He wanted to know if the application of two rewards while withholding the two was possible for the system.
| The Fleet Admiral's suggestion is within the capabilities of the Naval Gacha System. What rewards does the Fleet Admiral wish to withhold for later? |
Systema questioned with her monotone voice. She wanted to know the rewards that Fleet Admiral didn't want to immediately utilize. Abraham hesitated for a second, but soon answered. "I want to accept all of my Naval Points and Installation-0 Citadel."
"Please withhold the Artificial-Islands and the Seventh Fleet."
| Understood, Fleet Admiral. Systema gladly accepts. |
| ... |
Abraham merely waited for a few seconds as following digital notifications soon materialized before him. He gazed at them with utmost concentrated, but ended up smiling after reading it.
| All 35,000 Points have been deposited to the Fleet Admiral and Installation-0 Citadel has been summoned. Location of Installation-0 has been sent to the servers of the Port of Dawn and the Construction Yard Vulcan. |
| Happy summoning, Fleet Admiral. |
