Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 158: | 158 | Reinforcements

In a medieval building nearby the central plaza of the city, a squad of Special-Response Unit were waiting for Exfil through an incoming Osprey. But when they arrived into the building, an unexpected circumstance emerged.

Within it were slaves of the southern colony. Because of the recent events, it was becoming difficult for them to trust the slaves of this island. Getting backstab didn't do them good. But nonetheless, through various clearance, the slaves have proven themselves to be unarmed.

As such, unable to do anything to them. Besides, their primary mission before the chaos was to rescue slaves, so it wasn't a bad way to conclude their time in the southern colony.

Nonetheless, they were still trapped in the city with maddened rebels outside of their current building. They needed to be cautious and quiet as to not attract unwanted attention from the outside. With this in mind, they wanted to bid their time until the arrival of their transport.

"There is still ten minutes left until its arrival." The squad leader muttered under his breath while glimpsing through the window of the building. He observed the messy streets and squinted his eyes, realizing the effects the rebels had brought to the city.

'A third party entering the conflict makes things even more complicated.' He thought before turning his attention away from the streets. He looked at the slaves with furrowed eyebrows and remembered their training with the dragoness.

Amongst many of her lessons was to be rationale at all times. One mustn't forget their orders, and the reason why they stand on the ground they stood. Sadly, however, the unexpected situation in the southern colony has proven the Special-Response Units' failure to follow her teachers.

Even after the active-suppression order given by the fleet admiral of the United Navy, many were still refraining themselves from hurting the rebels. And the result of such foolishness was their own end or the death of their comrades.

"A-Are you the ones that saved us? The warriors of the Dragon of Liberation?" The female beastfolk quietly asked, wanting to know more about the identity of the Minokin soldiers before her. She was curious about her saviors, and she didn't want to be ignorant of her own circumstance.

The squad leader raised an eyebrow after hearing the words of the female beastfolk. After a short while, he sighed to himself while the edges of his lips rose. He had forgotten that while there would be rebels, there would also be supporters.

"It was Lieutenant Colonel Laplace that saved you." The squad leader calmly answered her question, making the female beastfolk realize the name of the Dragon of Liberation. "So her name is Laplace...

"I remembered seeing her above the skies of this city." She smiled as she could only remember fond memories about the Dragon of Liberation. It practically saved her from a horrifying fate. "I was about to be sold in an auction, becoming a slave somewhere in the Ferus Sea."

"Luckily, destiny hadn't abandoned me yet. As I was about to be sold, the Dragon of Liberation emerged in the clouds, its pitch-black scales glistened even from below. Its golden eyes glimmered with authority, looking down on everyone and everything."

"Before it, we were all equal."

"Its appearance has been etched into my eyes. Something I would never forget. That is why I didn't join the crazy rebellion the moment it hit the fan." The female beastfolk expressed, but the squad leader carefully listened and realized something important.

"Has the rebellion been planned before our arrival?" He questioned the female beastfolk, who gazed at him for a short second. She smiled and nodded at the Minokin, further explaining the truth of the situation.

"In reality, the rebellion has been planned by many slaves in the southern colony for quite a while. Its network is vast, and its members encompassed almost all of the slaves in the south. Its final goal is the creation of a southern country only belonging to the beastfolk alone."

"It would become a country that would even rival the likes of humanity, or so they dreamed." The final words of the female beastfolk brought out the foolishness of the rebellion and their grandiose delusions.

"I see... It seems that we have appeared in a terrible time." The squad leader remark, making the female beastfolk chuckle. "Perhaps, you're correct. But nonetheless, I was a staunch supporter of the rebellion until the emerged of the Dragon of Liberation. The Dragon made me realize that the rebellion wasn't my future."

"They have the same thoughts as myself." She glanced at her fellow beastfolk, who had followed her amidst the chaos outside. They had trusted her judgement instead of joining the ongoing revolt scattered throughout the southern colony.

It was something she appreciated.

"It looks like you were all lucky to meet us then. I don't remember introducing ourselves. So, I'll start first." The squad leader uttered to the female beastfolk and continued. "We are a squad of the Special-Response Unit, a new division of the United Navy."

"We are under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Laplace, and follow the high authority of the Fleet Admiral." The squad leader swiftly concluded his introduction. The female beastfolk nodded and followed.

"I am Minaru, a member of the Kitsune Tribe." She introduced herself with a great smile. Though, the squad leader looked at her body, not understanding what made her a member of the Kitsune Tribe. He had previously heard that they had lush and smooth fur along with a number of fluffy tails.

These were features he hadn't seen from the female beastfolk in front of him.

Seeing his confusion, Minaru chuckled and explained. "The Kitsune Tribe is adept in creating illusions. We can easily cast it with ease through enchantments embedded naturally in our tails."

After giving her explanation, the illusion casted around her body faded, replaced by a beautiful anthropomorphic fox with three tails. It was said that the older a Kitsune becomes, the more tails they would have and the wiser they would be.

"Impressive, I haven't seen a Kitsune in my life. Only rumors." The squad leader was somewhat amazed by the ability of Kitsune's to cast illusions. It would become handy in various situations, especially in the battlefield.

"I come from a place far from this sea region. In the northern part of the Ferus Sea, that is where my homeland dwells. I have been lost from my home since I was a child. Unfortunately captured by slave traders. That is why I have to return no matter what."

She was determined to go back to her homeland. Become a part of her tribe once again. The loneliness of not seeing any of her clansmen or her parents have become too bothersome for a Kitsune like her. She would be maddened if not returned to where she came from.

"The United Navy will be happy to help in returning all of you home. But before that, we must get out of this city first." The squad leader stated and glanced at his men who were observing their surrounding area. He looked at his watch and saw that only a minute was left.

"Let's leave this building and head to the plaza. Take out any rebels nearby, the transport will arrive in a minute." The squad leader ordered to his men, who nodded in understanding. Afterward, he glanced at the slaves and reminded them. "Follow us, don't get lost along the way."

All of them nodded as they wanted to get out from this godforsaken place.

"Sir, the Osprey is already above the city." The communication operator reported, prompting the squad leader to realize that they needed to be fast. "Alright, let's get out of this place." He uttered and walked out of the medieval building.

His men surrounded him while the slaves were at the center of the formation. Several rebels emerged out of nowhere, charging at them with swords and shields, probably acquired from an abandoned barracks.

The Minokins didn't hesitate and pulled the trigger, gunning down the charging rebels with relative ease.

*BBRRrrrtttt!*

Their adversaries dropped on the door, some dead, some alive but severely injured. One would wonder which was the worse of the two. Minaru realized the power of the Special-Response Unit. It seems that warriors of the Dragon of Liberation weren't to be underestimated.

"A hundred meters away from the Plaza, Sir!" The communication operator yelled out, causing everyone in the formation to move faster. Minaru gazed upwards and saw a metallic bird slowly making its way towards them.

"That's our ride out of here." The squad leader remarked, and looked at his men, giving another order. "Maintain a defensive position, don't let them near the transport." Without any delay, the Minokins surrounded the landing zone, shooting at the rebels nearby.

The air around trembled as dust began to spread outward. The squad leader observed the Osprey making its landing while its ramp slowly opened. Several SRU beastfolks got out of the transport, fully armed, taking the place of the Minokins.

"We will be handling this city, Sergeant." A lieutenant uttered while patting the shoulder of the Minokin. He walked out of the Osprey with a cigar on his mouth. With sunlight shining over his face, he squinted his eyes and muttered. "What a good day to blast these bastards to pieces."

The ramp of the Osprey closed as it immediately pulled out of the landing zone. Two Ospreys also landed on the landing zone, signifying that the battle in the city was far from over. The United Navy was intent in taking it back from the rebel scums.

On the other hand, the squad leader and Minaru sat opposite from one another. One closed his eyelids, finally letting his guard down after a long fight. The other looking through the windows, realizing how small her suffering was compared to the world around her.
