Chapter 129: The Mine
The good thing was that Jenny had prepared a car outside the terminal, sent by her subordinates from this town.
It was a luxury car with a very cool air conditioner.
When he got into the car, David immediately felt very comfortable.
He and Jenny sat in the back while Mery sat in the front with the driver.
They still needed the driver because none of them knew the streets of this town.
Although there is a map, unfortunately it doesn't function very well in this town because the facilities are still underdeveloped.
The driver was a middle-aged man, with a strong-looking body. He had a cold expression. When given an order, he was very alert and didn't try to make small talk.
Jenny had given him the order to take them to the mine, so he drove to the mine. Even he didn't look surprised at all by the order.
They drove to the outskirts of the town. Along the way, David observed the town, but he wasn't sure whether he was interested in it or not.
On the outskirts, the environment was really bad. It was very dusty, David also saw quite a few gangsters with bodies covered in tattoos. Some actually carried sharp weapons.
Even Jenny was probably coming to this area for the first time. When she saw the gangsters with sharp weapons, she looked uncomfortable.
"Mr. Lex, can they attack people?" Jenny finally asked the driver as she discovered there were more gangsters.
They weren't like gangsters in cities because they were obviously locals.
In their own territory, they were strong and hard to deal with.
"Don't worry, Miss, they usually just ask the mine workers for money. They won't stop my car, I know some of their bosses," replied the driver called Mr. Lex.
He looked very calm, as if he didn't care about the gangsters.
According to David's inference, he probably had such an outstanding reputation in this region that the gangsters were reluctant to come into conflict with him just for money.
Jenny nodded, finally looking more calm and at ease.
After that, she looked at David, and said, "next time, look for a more comfortable place to visit."
She seemed to be complaining about having to come to this place following David.
The latter did not respond.
Of course, he didn't have the slightest concern for those gangsters. Not to mention destroying them, he could easily destroy their village if he wanted to.
Fortunately, their car was completely unmolested. They easily passed through until they arrived at the mine area.
This was no different from what he had seen on the internet, the mountains were bare and full of holes.
The area was hard to measure because it was too vast, and in every hole there were many excavators, bulldozers, and trucks.
They looked small from afar, but the humans standing next to them looked much smaller. The tires of the trucks alone were twice the height of a human.
In some of the holes, David saw bombs being detonated.
However, even though this was a disorganized place, there was still an office that was about half the size of a football field, with four floors.
Perhaps besides the office, there were small dormitories in the building.
Mr. Lex drove his car to the office, stopping in front of it where a group of people were waiting, looking like the elite in this mine.
They looked surprised and confused because they had just received the information that Miss Jenny had come to this mine.
They thought this was too strange. Other than the fact that she was not suitable to be in the mine, she actually had no interest as she did not take care of the mine's business.
Simultaneously, David, Jenny, and Mery got out of the car.
As the only western man, David immediately attracted attention.
However, his gaze remained fixed on the mine, making observations.
He had to admit that observing the mine gave him a certain sensation.
In the depths of the mine he felt like there were hidden spiritual objects.
After a while of observing David, the mine officials looked at Jenny. Their leader then asked, "Miss Jenny, is there anything you need?"
Unfortunately, being asked about it only confused Jenny. She looked at David, nudged his hand and asked in a low voice, "so, what do you want to do here?"
"Ask all the employees to leave, I want this mine to be empty within an hour," David replied calmly.
His voice wasn't low, so the others heard too.
The miners were naturally educated people, they understood David's English.
"What?" Jenny seemed to almost jump in surprise.
She was so shocked that her breathing became rapid.
"What nonsense are you saying?" she asked David.
"Your grandfather will carry out my orders as soon as he hears them, so don't ask any questions," David replied.
"Do you know your request?" Jenny became angry with David again despite her initial friendliness and teasing.
"Do I need to call your grandfather first?" David replied.
His words instantly rendered Jenny helpless.
She pressed her lips together, holding back her anger.
After that, she looked at the bigwigs of the mine.
"Did you hear that? Clear the mine," she told them in a loud voice.
She turned her anger on them.
Of course, the request was a bit too ridiculous for them.
"Miss Jenny, this is not something we can decide," the mine leader replied.
In all the time he had worked here, he had never seen this mine empty.
It was in constant operation because every minute was absolutely precious. Even at night they still work.
The demand was too much and they had to fulfill everything quickly. If they are late, there will be a breach of contract.
An upset Jenny became even more upset that her orders weren't immediately obeyed.
In the end, she called her grandfather first, telling him that David wanted the mine vacated.
Aceng's reply naturally prompted Jenny to have the mine emptied right now because David had asked for it.
Jenny replied by telling him to tell the mine officials to do it because here they didn't dare to do it with just her orders.
Just after that, the mine officials received a call from their superiors in the capital, telling them to vacate the mine.
They even requested that the mine should be empty within half an hour.
This was a very unreasonable order as it took almost an hour to move the workers inside the mine to this office.
Their eyes stared at David again, wondering who he was that he could make Southeast Asia's richest man give such a ridiculous order.
Since the order had already been given, there was no way they couldn't carry it out.
They started sending messages through the orari, causing a stir throughout the mine.
When she saw the commotion, Jenny rolled her eyes.
"David, don't tell me that you have a bit of a mental problem so you sometimes have strange desires, is that it?" she asked David.
She felt that it was the only possibility of someone asking for an operating mine to be emptied for no apparent reason.
The problem was that David was a powerful man, so his strange request was inconveniencing too many people.
Jenny started to worry if his request was related to her business, like asking for all transactions at her bank to be stopped for one day. If that's the case, Jenny would rather be fucked by him.
David didn't respond. He just kept quiet as he continued to observe the mine.
After a while, Mery asked him, "do you feel anything in particular?"
Despite also being a Spiritual Being, Mery felt nothing in the mine even though she knew that it hid many spiritual treasures.
The problem was that it was very difficult to look for them in the vast mine and it was deep underground. Hence, Spiritual Beings tend to prefer using modern equipment to search for spiritual treasures.
They would be too tired if they searched the traditional way, and it would not necessarily have results.
If David could sense something, this was naturally a good thing, it would make the search easier which was why Mery was so interested.
"Yeah!" David replied briefly.
"What are you talking about?" asked Jenny who was listening to their conversation. She was instantly confused.
This made her feel like Mery had mental problems too, talking incomprehensible things.
"I'll tell you if you serve me well tonight," David replied, making Jenny's face flush again.
It wasn't that she would continue to be embarrassed by being teased by David. The problem was that there were too many people within earshot.
Plus that David was talking as if she was his servant, things were getting worse, she could feel the strange looks from people now.
Maybe some of them were wondering if Jenny had become David's concubine. After all, no man talks like that to his lover.
Not wanting David to continue saying nonsense, Jenny was forced to choose silence.
