Chapter 26 - A Note
Chapter 26: A Note
‘A small matter?’ ‘A few questions?’
Luo Qianqian almost burst into laughter, could this Prime Minister Luo be more brazen?
“Is that so? Great, Prime Minister Luo, please ask your questions, I’m right here waiting to take my sister-in-law to get ready to join us for an outing.” Su Liancheng replied in a casual way, with that he looked at Luo Qianqian as if he was seeking rewards from her.
Luo Qianqian was speechless.
The crowd looked at each other, how should Prime Minister Luo wrap this up? He was going to beat her death just now.
Murong Yun now walked to Luo Qianqian and he wiped clean her face, “What happened?”
Luo Qianqian’s heart was pounding when the man put his long and lean fingers on her face.
She could once again smell the medical aroma from him, so soothing, and she got a chance to look at him at such a close distance, she was once again in awe how gorgeous this man was.
Such a shame he lost a certain ability.
Luo Qianqian knew this man was trying to make a point in front of people, she played along and coughed, “I’m all right, they are just tear stains.”
“Tear stains?” asked Murong Yun in shock, he then stared at Luo Jingxuan!
Sweat beads now were oozing from Luo Jingxuan’s forehead, he felt like he was a prey to Murong Yun, he felt so intimidated by Murong Yun’s stare.
‘Why is Prince Eighth staring at me like this? Does he… does he know it all?’
Thinking of that, Luo Jingxuan’s face turned pale, he wished he could solve Luo Qianqian before Prince Eighth found out.
But now… …
“Prime Minister Luo is here for the Second Lady.” no one could tell Prince Eighth was making a statement or raising a question.
“Prince Eighth?” Prime Minister Luo raised his head in shock, ‘Why Prince Eighth knows about this matter?’
Murong Yun sneered, then he turned around to look at Su Liancheng.
Su Liancheng had been waiting for this moment, he produced a note from his sleeve.
“Prime Minister Luo, care to listen to this?” Su Liancheng opened the folded note and waved it casually.
Luo Jingxuan stared at the note, he didn’t see it clearly, but he was sure he just saw his own signature.
That was the agreement that he signed with the assassins.
Seeing Luo Jingxuan’s action, Luo Yuyan had a rough idea what that was, she soon exchanged a look with the First Lady. ‘I cannot expose myself in front of daddy.’
“Lord Su, what is that?” asked Prime Minister Luo.
“Master Luo, care to read it for me?” Su Liancheng looked at Luo Jingxuan and asked in a funny tone.
Luo Jingxuan was shaking, he stammered, “Lord… Lord Su, what… what is that?”
Su Liancheng raised his eyebrows, “I think you know it very well what it is.”
That was exactly why he played dumb in front of so many people, because he knew it well what this note was.
“Here, read for us.” Su Liancheng provoked.
Luo Jingxuan rolled his eyes for a while and turned around to Prime Minister Luo, “Father… it suddenly occurs to me that I know one thing or two about those assassins, and I guarantee you Fourth Sister had nothing to do with them.”
Prime Minister Luo face turned clouded, “You know about them? Why didn’t you bring this up earlier?”
“It… it slipped my mind, please forgive me father!”
“Anyway, Fourth Sister has nothing to do with them, I can guarantee that, with my life!”
The First Lady could tell something was wrong the second Luo Yuyan and Luo Jingxuan exchanged a look, she promptly chimed in, “Prime Minister Luo, it looks like we have mistook Little Four this time. Let’s leave Luo Pavilion now, Little Four has visitors.”
“Yes daddy, let’s leave. Don’t worry about me, I’m fine, I’m sure my brother and daddy will find out the truth for me sooner or later.”
The three echoed each other and the way they wanted to leave Luo Pavilion of course didn’t escape Prime Minister Luo.
His face turned more clouded, but he knew what the First Lady said was right, he would only embarrass himself in the presence of Prince Eighth and Su Liancheng if he lingered.
“Keep asking, please keep asking.” Su Liancheng rubbed it in.
Luo Jingxuan said in an apologetic way, “It’s a misunderstanding, just a misunderstanding.”
Hearing that, Luo Qianqian cleared her throat and manged to say it in a soft tone, “Father and brother were being so unfair, and it turns out to be a misunderstanding.”
Luo Qianqian got goose bumps listening to herself.
Murong Yun also saw through this little trick, he was more intrigued to see what his princess-to-be was up to.
“How… how can I make it up to you, my good sister?” asked Luo Jingxuan in a fawning tone.
Luo Qianqian pretended she was thinking, then she said, “I’m so bored staying at home all day, how about the tablet that allows me to exit and enter the mansion.”
Luo Yuyan was so jealous, but there was nothing she could do but to listen quietly.
Prime Minister Luo sensed Prince Eighth’s stare, he sighed and gave her the tablet, “Here it is, today I wronged you, I’m sorry.”
With that the three left the Prime Minister Mansion cheerfully.
Luo Qianqian and Prince Eighth were sitting on a carriage, while Su Liancheng was riding a horse following them.
They had an outing this day, how lovely.
Luo Qianqian played with the tablet that Prime Minister Luo just gave her, this little thing was a symbol of power and status, she needed to cherish it well, one day this little thing might help her in a way she could never expect.
She was secretly happy that Murong Yun showed up in time and saved her points.
Murong Yun’s carriage was made of valuable rosewood, and the carvings looked exquisite.
The carriage looked so big that it almost struck people as a portable house.
Luo Qianqian put away the tablet and asked Murong Yun, “Hey, you knew about this?”
‘What it that note in Su Liancheng’s hand?’
Prince Eighth was such a capable man, he always showed up in time and saved her.
Murong Yun stared at her and said, “Yeah.”
“Feng Qing didn’t leave with other servants, yeah?” Luo Qianqian asked.
“Correct.” Murong Yun didn’t want to lie to her.
She knew it!
She turned around, only to find Murong Yun was staring at her. All of a sudden she regretted the decision that she agreed to take the same carriage with Murong Yun.
She tried to look for a topic, “Emm, last time… how are you feeling now after that full moon night?”
Murong Yun didn’t know how to reply, ‘Could she really be my cure?’
Hiss!
At this moment the horse took fright and jumped, Luo Qianqian was caught off guard, she leaned over suddenly and landed at Murong Yun’s chest.
“Ouch!” cried out Luo Qianqian.
The horse went back to normal after a little while.
