Chapter 63
Chapter 63: Vivid Nightmare
“Tom?”
I called out for him. My eyes scanned surround me, looking for his figure in the darkness. Still, I got no response and he was still nowhere to be seen.
The darkness started to creep closer to me and I could feel the fear started to build inside me.
“Tom!”
I jumped and tried to run away from the creeping darkness. As I looked back to see around me again, I saw arms were formed and were reaching out for me, just like the one I saw in anime.
How could this happen to me?
I cursed under my breath as I kept trying to dodge the attack of those arms. I kept running and running. The fear that I felt before had disappeared before I knew it and irritation replaced it. Something grew inside my heart, co-existing with the irritation I was feeling.
.....
Then, as if snapping from a hallucination, I stopped my feet and turned to face the arms that were reaching out to me.
The scene should be scary if anyone was ever to be put in this situation. But, for some reason, I only felt upset instead of fear.
“Damn it! This is my dream! Only I can control it! You, no matter who you are, are not welcomed in here! Get out!” I growled angrily with gritted teeth.
There was a loud shriek coming from the arms that were trembling now. Their motion stopped at once as they flailed and shook before they became one with the darkness again.
“Come out if you dare. Don’t hide behind the darkness! I know you’re in there! Come out now or I’ll burn you alive!” I threatened as serious as I could to convince this creature that I was not joking around.
I watched as the darkness formed a figure. At first, it was a pair of feet, then it was legs. Everything was pitch black and suddenly I smelt something stinky, like the smell of wet trash and rotten food.
The smell assaulted my nose as I cringed my nose and half-choked on it.
Damn! Is it possible to smell something like this in a dream?
As I tried to fan the smell away with my hands, there was a complete figure of a woman standing not too far away from me. Despite the lack of colour that made her looked like a super pale woman, she had a great figure, a figure of a model that everyone would envy. Unfortunately, she didn’t fit to be a model for hair treatment since her hair was a mess. Not to mention the sickening smell came from her body.
I suppressed the urge to vomit when the smell assaulted me again.
“Damn, you’re so stinky! Where the hell are you from?” I frowned as I voiced out my complaint.
The pale woman grinned creepily, making me shiver slightly. Slowly, she approached me. My feet moved backward in response unconsciously. Her eyes met mine, but I didn’t flatter. I might move backwards to avoid her, but it didn’t mean I was scared of her.
It was just... She was smelly!
“Stop right there!” I hastily shouted when she gave no hint to stop.
Her feet came to a halt, but the expression on her face did not change. I frowned a bit. This pale girl was surely testing my limit.
“I don’t know what you want from me, but you better stop disturbing me. Or else...” I let my words hanging with a hint of threat to her.
A gust of wind suddenly arose and blew towards me. I raised my hands and shielded my face. The wind was hurling and howling, creating a rather eerie sound to hear. I got goose bumps all over my body and out of nowhere, I couldn’t move my body. It was as if I was bound by invisible rope.
The sound of the wind howling was now mixed with incoherent screaming. I couldn’t hear what it was said, but I knew for real it didn’t come from my mouth.
Then, I could feel my eyes fluttered opened.
I am awake!
But, I still experienced the sleep paralysis.
And, worse than any sleep paralysis I’ve ever had, I was laying on my side, facing the wall, not like usual when I laid on my back. A shadow was looming over me but I couldn’t make out the form of it. As my breath quickened in panic, I heard it screamed to my ear, shouting something I didn’t understand.
The shout made me tremble and I could feel my body froze.
I gasped as my eyes snapped wide open. Instinctively, I took a deep breath when my body was free from the invisible bound. Blinking my eyes rapidly, I tried to move my fingers to ensure I was really free from the sleep paralysis.
But, the picture of the woman as well as the scream in my ear were still vivid in my memory. My heart was still thumping loudly in my chest and my body was covered in thin layer of cold sweat.
Damn! I was sure it was not any regular sleep paralysis. I was also sure it was not a mere nightmare.
It was the first time I could smell something in my dream -really smelt it, not just my mind stating the smell.
Not to mention the smell was really bad.
Despite the slight fear I was feeling, I couldn’t help but analyze the possibility of the dream.
As I changed position into sitting, I remembered something important and asked my own self: “Where is Tom?”
