Chapter 232
232 Picking The Wrong Opponent
(Jane’s PoV)
“Burn them all.”
The blue flame rose higher and burned the dark aura inside the room in a flash. It continued burning even towards the dark aura which was still outside. Shrill cries were heard as it met the sinister and dark force that was about to attack us again.
I smirked. Red Sea was too far from Indonesia, but if that King of Devil still wanted to play around, I could accompany him to play.
Even though I had no idea the root of problem that caused that King to attack the son of Queen of South Sea, I would not hesitate to conterattack if he attacked humans, especially my father.
Whether I could win or not, it was a problem for later. It was not arrogant, but as long as I thought I could win, I wouldn’t step back to protect what’s precious for me.
As the dark aura stopped invading the man’s body, his painful moan disappeared, too. However, since there was still trace of dark aura inside his body, he would occasionally whimper from feeling discomfort here and then.
The Black Creese was still floating above his body while giving out soft hum.
“Dad, just call it back.” I said to my father.
.....
Nodding his head, my father retracted his order and the Black Creese went back to his hand. Before putting it back into its scabbard, my father sat down and tried to expel the trace of dark aura that attacked him before. That much of wicked aura, I was sure my father could handle it himself.
I turned my head towards the man laying on the bed. Cleaning him from the evil aura would be troublesome, but if I didn’t do it, the Queen would go insane. I was sure of that.
If only I knew she needed this kind of help, I would gladly help her.
After all, with the form of my power resembled smoke and possessing blue flame, I could fight with any curse however I wanted.
For now, I wanted to check on how bad he was cursed before I started burning my way in.
Letting out my smoke like power, I scanned the existence of dark aura inside the man’s body and the casualties it resulted. It seemed pretty bad as the inside of his body looked like it was corroded by something, full of holes here and there.
Or, it only looked like holes where in reality it was actually the dark aura taking place inside.
Whichever it was, it didn’t sound good at all. He needed a thorough cleaning, inside and outside. When it was true that water was the best at healing and the Queen would be the perfect candidate to perform it, I didn’t think it would be that simple.
If the Queen could do so, she wouldn’t waste her time by taking my father with her to save her own son.
The only answer was because her water power did nothing to this evil aura.
After all, the curse casted by a King of Devil wouldn’t be ordinary.
This man and the Queen were lucky since I had what it needed to counterattack the curse.
Blue flame. It was a good thing I had finished reading the description of this flame and practiced using it in my spare time to test on the full potential.
My finger took a small portion of fire and put it on different spots on his body; his forehead, on his chest right above his heart, above his abdomen, on his palm, and on his toes.
After I had done lighting his body like candles -seriously, my lips twitched as I saw those small flames resembled candles a lot -I controlled them to enter the man’s body through his pores.
“Jane, that’s....” My father mumbled slightly while still sitting cross-legged behind me.
“It’s okay, Dad. I know what I am doing.” I said to him assuringly. My eyes closed as I tried to see what happened inside the man’s body through my spiritual eyes.
The flame burned here and there inside and slowly the amount of black aura started to diminish. But, I still need to find the main source of power inside this man’s body.
Something nastier than a regular shadow, probably a curse tool placed inside his body or anything closed to that.
The blue flame reached deeper into his body and cleaned him from every bit of dark aura. The only place left was his spine. He only felt discomfort here and there even when the blue flame burned his internal organs, but burning the spine was a whole different case.
The process would be really painful, depending on how bad it was affected by the corrosive nature of dark aura.
As soon as my blue flame reached his spine and entered his bone marrow, shrill cry came out from his mouth as cold sweat started to form on his face.
It was a painful process, but it was needed. Also, it was about time....
Another shrill cry came from the ceiling of the house, overlapping with the cry of the man on the bed.
I smirked. Got you! You’re really picking up the wrong opponent this time.
“Dad, do you mind to use Black Creese to catch something?” I asked my father who was sitting there, stunned. “It’s hiding in the ceiling. Just absorb it, it will be helpful for the creese’s growth.” I pointed at the ceiling casually.
The creese didn’t need to be told twice as it flew in a flash while glowing angry red towards where I was pointing at. The cry went even more harsher, but not too long after that, it disappeared. The only cry I heard came from the man laying on the bed. Even so, his cry gradually became quiet and in the end, it came out only as a whimper.
His body went from rigid from the pain to limp from exhaustion. His pale face looked as if he was drained of his blood. His body was wet from head to toe, as if he was just soaked in a tub full of water.
As my flame finished burning the dark aura in his bone marrow, his erratic breath gradually turned better. It was still weak, but it was better than before.
I retracted my flame and checked on him again. He was all good. He only needed to nurture his body back to health.
Which led me to a new question...did he live alone?
I shook my head slightly. It was not my business. I turned to see my father had a serious look on his face. The Black Creese had returned looking even more powerful than before and was floating above my father’s palm.
“Dad?” I called out to him.
My father looked startled. My guess that he was talking to the Black Creese.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“Yeah.” I smiled and went to hug him. “I’m glad you’re fine. Maybe you should reunite with Mom soon.” It might sound so hasty but actually I had been thinking about it for some time after the Meeting the other Masters ended.
If what they said was true, then it would be chaos in the near time and I didn’t want my father to get involved in that matter. It was better for him to reunite with my mother as soon as possible.
“My baby princess has grown up now.” He hugged me back while patting my back. Even without seeing his face, I knew for sure that he was smiling. “Even after being separated for months, she immediately urged me to go far away instead of saying she missed me.”
I laughed as I heard his soft complain. “Of course, I miss you, Dad.” I hugged him even tighter. After going through several obstacles, I could finally see my father and he was fine. I was so happy and relief, but at the same time I knew I needed to evacuate him. Therefore, no matter how much I missed him, making sure his safety was my priority.
Of course, I wouldn’t tell him about the weakened border and the demons attack.
“As much as I miss you, as long as I’ve seen you’re healthy, I am totally fine. But, I can’t say the same with Mom. You know how worrywart she is. So, it’s best for you to reunite with her and take some vacation together.” I sat cross-legged in front of him while trying to persuade him.
“Jane, it should be me who said that. You’ve tried so hard to be strong these months and even if you didn’t tell me, accepting this kind of power must not be easy for you. You don’t need to hide it from me. Even though you are obviously stronger than me, you should know that I, your father, will always support you. You can always turn back and take a rest while I take care of you like usual. It is kind of sad for me that my only daughter has grown up this fast, but since you’ve chosen to do so, I can only support you.” My father rubbed my head lovingly. “I should be by your side when you embraced your power, yet I went missing and made you and your mother worried.”
He sounded guilty and sad that I couldn’t help but say something which reminded us that we indeed forgot something -or rather, someone.
“It’s not your fault. It’s that Queen’s fault for taking you away so suddenly.’
Ah right, we forgot to inform the Queen. “I’ll go get her.” I was about to stand up and run outside when my father threw me a question I had been wishing he wouldn’t ask.
“Jane, how about your education?”
My body went rigid as I heard his question. Could the Queen save me from this situation? After all, if it wasn’t because of her, I wouldn’t take long leave from the campus.
If my father knew about it, I couldn’t think what would possibly happen to me.
