Chapter 88 - Reunion
Nobunaga's PoV*
It's been a decade since Kyle left, my life went back from what I usually do, conquering province by province, if you ask what's the point of doing this? Simply, I wanted to unite Japan into one, it's one of my dreams.
As I wanted to tell you more about my dreams, it would be pointless as I am already dead anyway. I did unite Japan due to Kyle's guns. I hate to admit it but it played an important part to unite the entire of japan, without it I might have died earlier probably.
Conquering the world is just too much for me, let's not recount the past anymore, I'll be telling you what happened to me after I died, I've become a part of a system called the throne of heroes, as much as I want to get out I'm powerless to do, being trapped here made me realize how fucked up my universe is, they don't even let a dead person like me rest in peace.
So anyway I wasn't the one, but it doesn't matter to me anymore, I am already a dead person and I don't care about anything... except...I want to meet that person again.
'He' was the first person after I closed my heart to anybody else to treat me as a regular woman, and 'he' was the only true friend I have after I killed my brother, 'he' was the only person who makes me feel like I'm normal and nothing more, and more importantly 'he' is the only person that I could trust, you might think it's silly for me Oda Nobunaga to trust someone, who I just got to know within just a single night and day, however, call me foolish but I get this feeling that he is someone I could lean upon other than my dead father, if possible I would like to meet him again.
And there was a possibility of meeting him again although it's just slight I would be willing to bet and what I meant is, it's being summoned as a servant and win the Holy Grail, it says that it could grant any wish, I don't know how or when I received this knowledge, but it's not important anymore and so the moment I was summoned arrived.
The first time I was summoned, the person that summoned me was a low-tiered mage, she was a bit interesting though, however she was very weak so I have to carry her along the way, I was first summoned as an archer class.
And for the last 7 nights I fought to a bitter end, I wasn't able to win the war, it wasn't because I'm weak but because I was careless, I left my master for a bit but the enemy was very cunning I didn't think that the master of the enemy would order his servant to kill my master when I was busy fighting another enemy servant, however, I have no excuses I still lost due to my carelessness, so the enemy servant successfully killed my master and that means I'm disqualified from continuing the game.
Thus another opportunity arrived, I was summoned for the second time, but this time my master was a talented young man, he was a high-class mage, my class was still the same as the first archer.
If you wonder how, did I even remember that I was summoned once? I have no idea myself, and again it doesn't matter to me.
I have a higher winning chance this time, because unlike before I don't have a deadweight master, I was about to win but there was no 'if' in this world.
However the result was a bit different from the first time, I didn't lose nor I won, the entire match was a default.
It's because of some idiot that tried to destroy the Holy Grail, just because it's evil, and if there is a chance that I would be summoned for the 3rd time, I wouldn't expect anymore based on what I experienced being summoned twice, no one seemed to win the game, there were no clear winners at all.
So the time, I got summoned for the 3rd time, I originally planned to half-assed my job as a servant, my efforts would be pointless anyway knowing that in the end, no one would win, I don't want myself to work hard knowing that the entire Holy Grail is nothing but a pointless game.
However, to my surprise, something is different from the rest when I was summoned before, the connection between me and the throne of heroes disappeared, the shackles that have been restraining me ever since I became part of the throne of heroes vanished.
That feeling of being trapped eternally, I could longer feel it, the long-lost feeling of free...I never thought that I could feel it again.
But aside from that, even though I have countless questions in mind, greeting the person who summoned me is quite important, but the problem is I couldn't determine which of the two is my master normally it would be my primal instinct to immediately recognize my master, but it doesn't seem the case here at all.
I stared at the two people in front of me, then I exclaimed."So, which one of you is my master?!"
My voice contained some of my aura as the Demon King, even if it is a powerful mage, they would at least be a little affected by it, to my surprise, not they were only okay, they acted like they felt nothing!
I thought. 'Strange...did I perhaps lose my abilities after losing connection with the throne of heroes?'
Suddenly a voice that was very familiar to me and even a bit nostalgic, even though it's been like forever since I've last heard of it, I could still remember somehow like it only happened yesterday.
"Oda... Nobunaga..?"
I stared at the person who said my name, I looked at him with an expression of confusion, however as I looked at him, the more I was surprised!
It's him! The person I've been longing to see, the person who I considered as a true friend, slowly I opened my mouth and said. "Kobaya-monkey?"
I said that with a tone of disbelief, I could hardly believe what was happening right now, but then the way he answered made the doubts inside me vanish.
"Hey! I told you not to call me that! Did you forget that calling with that low-level insult means you're lower than a monkey?!"
This time for sure, it's him! I shouted in excitement. "It's really you Kobayashi!"
As I said that he answered with a wry smile. "Yeah... although I don't know what happened, I can tell...it's been a while right Nobunaga?"
I smiled brightly at him and replied. "Umu! Indeed it's been a while, Kobayashi."
( End- )
