Chapter 331: Ancient Times, the Kui Ox Demon Emperor
Chapter 331: Ancient Times, the Kui Ox Demon Emperor
Looking at Ling Jiu leaving so casually, the Nine-winged Skydragon’s eyes changed as it fell into a huge inner struggle.
It was frustrated.
But it could not kill Ling Jiu.
It was conflicted.
But it did not want to submit to Ling Jiu.
It was depressed.
But it did not want to be trapped here.
So what now?
Submission?
“No! I’m one of the Ten Great Direbeasts, a peerless demonlord who could command the winds and rain in times of yore, how can I submit to a man?”
If it refused, was it suppose to then continue to stay in this dark prison, where it will be locked up for eternity?
At the thought of that, the Nine-winged Skydragon felt a pang of horror. It was a peerless Direbeast that fought everything, and it should belong to the sky and the world outside, not this god-forsaken Demon-sealing Tower!
“Manling, stop!”
The Nine-winged Skydragon was totally shattered, as it roared angrily. “You win! I submit! I’m willing to submit!”
“Heh, you finally softened huh.”
Ling Jiu smiled and turned around. He was not afraid the latter would not submit. The Nine-headed SNake and the Nine-winged Snake too had been sealed underground for 5,000 years, and was almost at the breaking point.
So, as long as Ling Jiu promised to set them free, he would easily win their submission as they were close to be driven insane.
Submission?
What was submission when compared to freedom?
“Manling, what do you want to do?”
The Nine-winged Skydragon looked at Ling Jiu with a complicated gaze.
“Simple!”
Ling Jiu wanted the Nine-winged Skydragon to not resist, and then used Absolute Servitude on it, to officially take it under his wing.
To take in such a powerful fighter, Ling Jiu was of course very happy, as he smiled at said. “Nine-winged Skydragon, how strong were you during your prime?”
“A Demonlord!”
The Nine-winged Skydragon rumbled.
“Demonlord?”
Ling Jiu raised his eyebrows. What level is a Demonlord exactly?
Ling Jiu knew that the Nine-winged Skydragon had been locked up here for 5,000 years, and had long been out of touch with the outside world, so the realm it talked about was only used during ancient times.
The question now was, what level does the Demonlord belong to?
“In ancient times, how did the Direbeasts divide your strength level, and what level did you belong to?” Ling Jiu asked again.
“In ancient times, man and beast fought.”
The Nine-winged Skydragon said. “Men called themselves immortals, while us beasts called ourselves demons!”
“From low to high, they are divided into ordinary demons, greater demons, demon kings, demon saints and demonlords, and correspondingly, the humans are, mortals, earth immortal, heavenly immortal, golden immortal, boundless golden immortal.”
“When I was in my prime I was a Demon Emperor, and was one of the Ten Great Demon Emperors back then, commanding countless of demons, I was also called one of the Ten Great Ancient Direbeasts by you humans.”
As it said that, a hint of pride appeared faintly in the skydragon’s eyes, but soon it became despondent again.
“Sadly, after being locked inside the tower for 5,000 years, without the immortal Qi to nourish me, my strength had fallen from the Demonlord realm, and is now a Nine-star Demon Saint.”
“A Nine-star Demon Saint?”
Ling Jiu nodded slightly. The Nine-winged Skydragon was now a Level 9 Supergalactic lifeform, and belonged to the Nine-star Demon Saint realm, that meant that the Demon Saint was analogous to a supergalactic lifeform?
That was to say:
A stellar lifeform = Greater Demon
Stellar Lifeform = Demon King
Supergalactic Lifeform = Demon Saint
And a Demon Emperor... wouldn’t that be a Perfect Lifeform?
A Perfect Lifeform!
This was a very terrifying level, and according to Leoux, a galaxy like the Milky Way can only give birth to supergalactic lifeforms, for a Perfect Lifeform to be created... it was just too difficult!
Generally, it would take a hundred galaxies for a possibility of a Perfect Lifeform to appear.
And of course, that was only just a possibility.
“How many Demonlord-level demons were there during the ancient times?”
Ling Jiu was a little curious.
“For us demons, we had a total of ten Demonlords.”
The Nine-winged Skydragon was forthright, “Humans only had five Boundless Golden Immortals, but then more and more appeared, and during the final battle 5,000 years ago, there were 36 of them! The difference in strength on both sides were overwhelming, and we demons lost.”
“36!”
Ling Jiu gasped.
36 Perfect Lifeforms, this was strong till the point of terrifying, no wonder the Yanhuang pantheon left after defeating the aliens. They were already invincible on Earth, and could no longer find any challenges there.
Being too strong is lonely.
No wonder Uranus and the other Kaos Titants daerd not touch the east after they arrived on Earth, and could only go to the then barren Northern Europe to settle down. The east was far too powerful and they could not compete at all.
However, with so many Perfect Lifeforms, that also made Ling Jiu curious about Earth 5,000 years ago.
How potent was the Gene Arcana on Earth at that time that so many terrifying existences would be born?
Also, why did the Gene Arcana on Earth disappear so quickly in just 5,000 years, so much so that it had completely disappeared by the 21st century?
What happened to Earth in the past 5,000 years?
“Nine-winged Skydragon, walk around with me first, and we’ll leave once I’m done.”
Ling Jiu said. “After we leave, I’ll send you to a place to recover your strength first. I believe you will like it there.”
“Alright!”
The skydragon nodded and agreed. If it had a choice, it of course wanted to leave the tower right away, but since Ling Jiu said so, what else could it say?
“Take me to look for the next Demon Emperor.”
Ling Jiu said.
“The space inside the tower is quite signficant, and all of the great demons locked inside here have their own territory.”
The Nine-winged Skydragon explained. “The Demon Emperor closest me is that old bull, the Kui Ox. That one is a stubborn one, subduing it will be... difficult.”
“No matter!”
Ling Jiu smiled faintly “It’ll be good if I can subdue it, if not, then I’ll just kill it and cook it. I’ve not eaten beef for a long time now.”
“...”
When the Nine-winged Skydragon heard this, it could not help but to shudder. “Master, if I did not submit earlier, would you have killed me too?”
“Of course, I’ve not eaten dragon meat in a long time too.”
Ling Jiu laughed and said. “I won’t hide it from you. I will not let a single one of the Direbeasts in the Demon-sealing Tower go.”
The Nine-winged Skydragon smiled bitterly, and at the same time felt very grateful, grateful that it had made the correct choice, otherwise...
Under the lead of the Nine-winged Skydragon, Ling Jiu quickly found the Kui Ox Demon Emperor.
The old bull that the skydragon mentioned was only six feet tall, and 12 feet long, with only a single hoof beneath its belly, and its entire body was blue.
When Ling Jiu and the skydragon arrived, the old ox was fast asleep, snorring like thunder, causing the area around to rumble.
“It can sleep like this not knowing that it’ll soon become a snack?” Ling Jiu mumbled. “Go, wake it up!”
“Yes, master!”
The Nine-winged Skydragon responded and then used its long tail and brutally whipped the Kui Ox. The Kui Ox immediately perked up and immedately stopped snoring.
MOOO—!!
The Kui Ox that was rudely awakened was seemingly pissed as it let out a thundering moo, and like a primordial thunder, causing the dimension around to shatter.
“How dare you disturb my beauty sleep! You want to die?”
The Kui Ox stood up and stood with a single hoof on the ground as thunder and lightning crackled all over his body as it glared at the skydragon and shouted at Ling Jiu. “So it’s you slithering snake, you want to fight?”
“I’ve no time to mess around with you today!”
The Nine-winged Skydragon rolled its eyes, and hissed. “Old Kui Ox, I ask you, do you want to go out?”
“What did you say?”
The Kui Ox was stunned.
“Have you been alone for too long that your ears are failing or what?”
The Nine-winged Skydragon repeated once more helplessly. “Do you want to go out?”
“Go out? Who doesn’t want to? Which of the great demons being trapped here doesn’t want to go out? But you think the Demon-sealing Tower is a place that you can leave at will?”
The Old Kui Ox screamed. “If I could get out, I would have done it long ago!”
“Sigh, now that I think of it, I’m suddenly envious of those traitors. Although they now serve someone else, but they are at least living happily and freely, unlike how we are now.”
