My Son Might Be A Villain

Chapter 30: I'll raise you (3)

Chapter 30: I'll raise you (3)

It was Su Ran's turn to not know what to say.

She had deliberately said those words thinking Su Han would act all cool by responding with, "You're overthinking. She was surprised by his response.

She had thought the original owner and her son didn't have a good relationship. "Su Ran didn't care if Su Han lived or died, so she thought Su Han wouldn't care about his mother in name either.

She hadn't thought...

But no, it made sense that Su Han would feel that way. Anyone would feel ashamed if his or her mother worked in the red light district.

Suddenly, Su Ran felt a bit bad for the little villain.

While Su Ran was feeling at a loss, Su Han suddenly felt a bit panicky from the prolonged lack of response.

Su Han turned his head and said in a cool tone, "If you want to buy something, I can give you money, so don't go there."

"Haha -" Su Han's words inexplicably reminded Su Ran of an especially classic line that she had read before; "I'll raise you." Although the delivery wasn't perfect, her instant son truly looked a bit handsome when he said those words.

"What are you laughing about?"

She coughed to clear her throat, then she answered, "N-nothing. I just want to ask how you plan on supporting me."

"Who said I want to support you?" Su Han furrowed his brow. "Anyways, I can..."

"Are you going back to that fast food place with that unethical owner that takes advantage of minors to be its labor force?"

"It's a hot pot restaurant."

"There's no difference."

"I -"

Having gotten her fun at looking at Su Han's conflicted expressions, Su Ran said, "I'll stop teasing you. I already quit that um... job."

"Really?" Su Han's eyes brightened when he heard Su Ran's words, but at the same time, he didn't trust her.

"Really. Haven't you seen for yourself that I haven't been going out at night? Before I went to pick you up at the police station, I already quit my job earlier that day. I won't go to that place anymore."

Seeing that Su Han was starting to believe her words, Su Ran continued her efforts by saying, "As for you, you're not allowed to work at any fast food places, including hot pot restaurants. Think about it. You worked so hard and well, but that unethical boss only paid you a measly amount. It's so unworthwhile. Besides, this family isn't so lacking in money that it needs the little bit you earn from that job.

Hearing Su Ran saying "family", Su Han was a bit moved. He looked at Su Ran and asked a difficult to answer question, "How will you eat then?"

Su Ran: WTF!

It seemed that in Su Han's eyes, his mother was absolutely useless.

"Don't worry about it. I already found a part-time job. You won't go hungry." Su Ran saw that Su Han was still looking at her doubtfully, so she added, "Really. That job starts tomorrow! It's a proper job!"

"What kind of proper job could you do..." Su Han murmured.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing. I'm sleepy. I'm going to bed." Su Han finally got up and walked towards the bedroom.

But when Su Han got to the doorway, he stopped.

With his back facing Su Ran, Su Han quietly said, "One more thing..."

"Hmm? What? Do you need my help with something?" Su Ran asked.

She seemed to faintly hear Su Han say "En", but after waiting for a long time, she still didn't hear the rest of Su Han's words.

"Never mind!" Su Han closed the door with a quiet click.

"What's with the big reaction over nothing? Do all children nowadays have such big tempers?" Su Ran casually ridiculed.

Although she said these words, Su Ran thought there really was something Su Han had wanted to tell her.
