Chapter 136 134 - Preparing
The following day, Chris and Maria took Milo to get a sort of makeover for the interview. Their first stop was to get him a haircut, as they walked through the city, a lot of people recognized Milo from the news reports about his reawakening. The stares he got and the comments he was hearing were a lot more than Milo was prepared for. Reawakening was a big deal, but being the one who was getting the attention because of it really showed Milo how big of a deal everyone thought it was.
Ever since he gave the first year student an autograph it seemed like Milo's days were getting crazier and crazier. When he got to the hair salon for his haircut, the lady who was to cut his hair recognized him immediately. The entire time she cut his hair, she was joking with him about him being the first famous person she had ever given a haircut to. Milo kept blushing and trying to laugh it off. He thought he was finally getting used to all the attention until the lady kept raving about his reawakening, asking him a bunch of questions about him, the attention he was getting and more. By the end of it, he was mentally exhausted from the sheer amount of questions he was getting from the lady. Eventually he was able to get out of there and continue on their little day on the town.
Maria was in charge of dressing him for the interview, most people who did interviews with the show that would be conducting Milo's interview dressed in suits, it was a way for them to show off the things they gained from gatecrashing. Maria took Milo to a tailor that was found in the Acropolis, it was a pretty famous tailor and many of its clients included famous gatecrashers, it was the same tailor where Maria's dad and brothers went to get their suits made. When they first entered, a gentleman who was also dressed in a suit welcomed them in, Maria went and checked in with the man at the counter. After checking in, the man guided Milo, Chris and Maria to a back room filled with mirrors. In the center was a small platform. Nearby was a small seating area with a table that had magazines on top.
The man guided the trio into the room and gestured for Chris and Maria to sit.
"For the measurement I will need you to strip down to your undergarments so that I can get an accurate measurement," the man said.
Milo turned to see a sly smile on Maria's face. Milo rolled his eyes realizing that this was all part of her plan. He begrudgingly did as the man said and took off his clothes leaving only his boxers on. After doing so he stood on the platform and followed the man's instructions moving his body this way and that so the man could take his measurements. While doing so, Chris was reading a magazine, looking visually bored, and Maria was taking in the view of Milo's sculpted and cut body getting measured.
After a few minutes, the man had finished his measurement, Milo was then allowed to get dressed and the man took Milo and his two friends to the front of the shop once again. Once they were there, Maria picked out all the important colors and such before they were set to pay. When paying the fee Milo's eyes almost bulged out of his head reading the price of the suit he was buying. If he hadn't been paid during his internship for closing all those gates there was no way he would've been able to afford it. They paid and were told to pick it up the day of the interview. Maria said she would pick it up for Milo that day and the three returned back to campus.
When the day of the interview arrived, Chris and Maria were busy making sure everything was going smoothly, the interview was to take place in the practical training hall, the academy had even canceled all the practical classes that were meant to happen that day so that the interview could happen there. After Maria arrived with the suit, Milo put it on. It was a fitted gray suit with a black tie. It fit his form perfectly, thanks to the measurements taken at the tailor shop, the suit fit him like a glove. He looked quite dashing in it, resembling a movie star who was about to make a red carpet appearance. Maria was ooing and ahing admiring how Milo looked wearing the suit, even Alucard who would be coming with Milo to the interview made a remark about how Milo looked.
With his suit on and his prep for the questions done, Milo put Alucard in the beast vessel ring and made his way over to the practical training hall with his friends. Standing out front was a man in a suit with a wire going up to his ear. He was the security in charge of only allowing people who were allowed to attend the interview to enter the building. Milo and his friends had to fight their way to the entrance as a large group of students had seen all the cameras and equipment being moved into the building for the recording of the interview.
Once they arrived at the front of the pack, Milo walked up to the security guy and told him his name, as well as his friends who he was allowed to invite to watch the interview. The man checked his list and allowed them inside, seeing that someone was entering the building, all the students who were clumping at the entrance were all craning their necks trying to see who was going in. A few students recognized Milo and could tell what was going on, while others were oblivious to what was happening in the academy the past few days.
Once they were inside, a woman with a clipboard guided the group to where the interview was taking place. Inside the main hall, a makeshift set had been built identical to the set that was seen whenever the show aired. It was a simple set, with a black wall with the show's name in lights, and only took up about half of the huge room's interior. In front of the wall were two arm chairs with a coffee table between them. Microphones could be seen hanging down above the two chairs. Cameras were seen at multiple different angles meant to capture the interview. Overall, it looked exactly like someone would expect the set of a TV show to look like.
The lady who was carrying the clipboard told Milo to head towards the makeup area so that he could have stage makeup put on, while she guided his friends to an area where they could watch the interview as it happened. Milo did as the lady told him to and made his way over to the booth where they'd put his stage makeup on. He took a seat at the chair and an artist immediately got to work making sure he had the right makeup on so he wouldn't disappear with the lights that'd be on him. Eventually another person came over and took a seat next to him, Milo recognized him as Marcus Davis, the host of the show and the person who'd be interviewing him. He had dark skin, and a bright smile. He too was dressed in a nice suit and he seemed to take great care not to wrinkle it when he sat in the chair next to Milo.
"Nice to meetcha Milo, thanks for the opportunity to be the first channel to break your story, everything should go off without a hitch, I'll just ask you the questions we sent you and you answer them the best you can, you have any questions for me before we start?" Marcus said.
Milo shook his head and said thanks for letting him appear on his show. The two continued chatting for a bit, Marcus asked Milo about his school life, and about his friends who he had brought along, he seemed similar to the association president, asking about all their abilities as well as what rank they all were. He was impressed that all of them besides Krista were X ranked students. He complimented Milo on doing a good job of picking powerful allies. Being an ex gatecrasher, he knew how important having powerful comrades was, he also asked Milo if he knew if any of them would be interested in also being interviewed separately to spice up the show, he said that he'd have to ask them himself, but he was sure at least Chris would want to make an appearance with his personality.
Soon it was time for the interview to start. Milo and Marcus made their way over to the makeshift set and took seats across from each other in the two arm chairs. The director then went through checks to make sure everything was working properly and the interview would go on without any issues. After a few minutes of checks, a man wearing a headset walked out in front of the camera with a clapperboard.
"Interview with Milo Fenix take 1," he shouted before clapping the board together, and the filming had begun.
