Chapter 116 114 - Alucard’S Status
Eventually the team had successfully exited the gate. Once stepping back through the dimensional door Milo turned to see the yellow swirling circle of magical energy start to collapse in on itself until it disappeared. Alucard was coiled around his neck, as he seemed to claim the spot as his own little perch. Milo had no problem with this, Waki had a tendency to hop onto Zach's head messing up his hair, so having Alucard choose to use his shoulders instead left him relieved that his hair would be spared.
After going through a report with the GAA, the team was guided back to their hotel to rest, two days later it'd be back to gatecrashing so it was important the team recharged their batteries. Once they arrived, the team all returned to their rooms, a few of them planned to meet up and celebrate their first gatecrashing experience without having David there to babysit them, Milo chose not to join in and instead wanted to play with Alucard more and check out the system update he got a message about after closing the gate.
Overall the gate went smoothly for the team. Aside from the boss fight, their strategy was effective at dispatching the lizardmen in the gate. With Alucard's assistance at the end, the team was also able to avoid any major injuries against the boss. Milo sent a report back to Jorge like they were supposed to do after each gate and then he sat down on the bed turning on the TV.
On the TV, a drama based during the middle ages seemed to be on, and for whatever reason Alucard seemed to enjoy the show watching it intently. Seeing the snake so entranced by the television, Milo chuckled. Alucard must have been extremely intelligent if he was able to understand what was going on in the show.
While the show continued playing, Milo got Alucard some food, and gave him an extra dungeon mouse as a reward for helping them inside the gate. He then ordered himself some food, opting for pizza. While he waited for the food to be brought up to his room, he opened his status screen.

From closing the gate, Milo leveled up 2 more times. This brought all his stats to at least 50. Along with this, the system now had a tab for tames. Milo guessed this was the tab that opened up once the message appeared while the team was making their way to the gate's exit. Along with this, Milo also reached the level goal he set for himself at the beginning of summer. With it being late July, Milo felt that it was just in time as well as school would be starting in a month. With this extra month, Milo would be able to grow even more, beyond the goal he had set for himself, which made Milo even more happy.
Overall, the summer break had been extremely good for Milo. He was worried that his growth would stagnate but it was the complete opposite. He had improved his combat abilities by going into countless gates, most simulated but a few real gates as well. By tackling the real gates, he had gotten better at working with a team, and had also gotten a new ability that was extremely useful and versatile. He also received essence cores from closing these gates which allowed him to grow his Magic Power stat and learn the name of a new system skill. Along with this, he got a new weapon that fit his combat style perfectly and had the perfect teacher to show him how to fight using the weapon as well. Finally he had gotten a tamed beast that was not only a legendary tier, but it also already showed a useful skill in the gate he had just closed. After considering his luck over the past 2 months, he felt thankful, after doing this, he finally clicked on the Tames tab of the system to see more info about his new serpentine partner.

Reading through the information given to him about Alucard by the system, Milo was ecstatic about Alucard's potential. Each of the skills seemed to be extremely powerful. There was a reason that Alucard's species were legendary ranked after all. The Wings of Strife skill was obviously the skill he used in the gate, and had saved the team. He only had two skills unlocked so far, those being the Wings of Strife and Scale Shot, but there were 3 more he could unlock once he leveled up.
Based on the fact that Alucard had skills that were locked behind a level meant that he could level up just like Milo could. If this was the case then the system truly was overpowered and would allow Milo to grow even more, as Alucard was his own tamed beast. He looked at Alucard through the semi transparent system screen, who was still staring at the television focusing on the show that was being played. In the future the snake would be extremely powerful.
After wondering just how powerful Alucard could get he looked at his stats in more detail. Based on the spread of Alucard's stats, he determined that Alucard would be a sort of glass cannon and would be focused more on speedy sneak attacks. His agility was high meaning that he would be very good at avoiding attacks rather than taking them head on like a tank, Milo could definitely see this being the case based on how easily he avoided the fireball thrown at him in the gate's boss fight. Along with this, his Magic Power and Intelligence stats were miles above the rest. Alucard was extremely intelligent already which was able to be seen through the things he'd done so far, but the status screen confirmed it. If it was any signal as to what Alucard could grow into, Milo had an extremely promising partner for closing dimensional doors.
After going through all Alucard's info Milo felt happy knowing his tamed beast could grow to be very powerful. With Alucard's skills and Milo's abilities the two of them would be a deadly duo. He also couldn't wait to introduce the little snake to his friends. Not only would Waki have a new friend, but Milo could picture the surprise on their faces when he saw them next with the flying snake in tow.
Milo then flipped to the news to see if any notable things were going on around the world, this came with some complaints from Alucard who seemed invested in the show that was originally playing. Milo was also curious what kind of weather he'd be seeing. The first story was about the Incubus guild sending guild members to come to close the gates that had appeared, on the screen Milo could see where he and his team were arriving on the scene of the gate they had just closed. Alucard could be seen around Milo's neck. Overall the local news channel thanked the Incubus guild for sending guild members to assist in closing the gates that had appeared before moving onto the next story.
The news stories were mainly little things going on around the city. Eventually the weather had come on and it appeared that while spending the week in Atlantic City, the weather would be clear and sunny until the last day which was a good sign. There was also a part about areas that had gates appear recently, this was to inform normal citizens about the gates and to advise them to avoid these areas due to an increase in traffic. Overall, aside from the gates they would be closing, the number appearing seemed to have gone back down meaning that the city's top guild would be able to handle all the gates that were opening after the team returned back to New York.
The last story that the local news covered was actually a national story. Apparently the Fellowship had shown some movement in their activities. Cases of their nefarious deeds were starting to appear more in the United States following their movement in Canada a month or so prior. This story was a way to warn citizens to be on the lookout for any suspicious people and to report any of this activity to the GAA and police, as the two would be working together to keep the people safe from the cult. After the last story about the Fellowship, the news broadcast was over and Milo flipped back to the show Alucard was watching to keep him happy.
Milo wasn't sure what the Fellowship was up to, but it definitely was something he'd have to keep an eye on. The Fellowship meant bad news and it was one thing he didn't want the people he cared about to get tangled up in.
