Chapter 114 112 - Beast Whisperer
Reading the description of the egg in its current state, Milo's eyes widened in surprise. He wasn't sure what could've caused it to hatch so fast, but he could've sworn it wasn't this close to hatching when he first received the egg from the man running the cup game. Seeing that it was close to hatching also caused him to panic, he had nothing prepared for when the egg hatched. All he could think of was to ask the system what caused this, and suddenly Navi could be heard inside his head.
"It is an additional effect caused by increasing the Beast Whisperer ability's level. At a high enough level, hatching speed of beast eggs that are imprinted on is significantly increased. If raised enough, it can even allow the beast within to grow at an accelerated rate"
This was his first time checking with the system in awhile, and hearing Navi give the answer so easily made him vow to ask her more questions whenever any came about. He hadn't been taking advantage of the system's encyclopedia like knowledge as much as he should have been doing.
On the egg's inspect screen he was unable to see what the species of the beast that would emerge from the egg would be, but he was hoping that it would be something of a high tier. If he was able to have a high tier beast under his control, Milo would become even stronger.
Eventually the egg started to crack, from between the cracks in the egg a slight red light could be seen being emitted. The egg continued to shake and vibrate violently. Eventually the chair began to shake as well. The red glowing cracks continued to spread around the egg's surface until it eventually burst. Milo had taken cover by the bed at this point, as he knew that beast eggs had a violent way of hatching for some reason. After the egg burst he peeked his head up from the edge of the bed in order to see what hatched from the egg.
Looking at the tiny beast sitting where the egg once was, Milo was surprised to see what it was. It had a sleek long body. Black scales could be seen running down the beast's body, with a red belly. The scales on its body protruded a bit making the serpentine beast appear spiky. It reminded Milo of a type of viper he used to think was cool looking. This was where the similarities ended however. Sprouting from the small snake's back were two pairs of wings that were covered in red feathers, the wings resembled those of a cardinal due to their red color. At the back of its head down the center as well as at the tip of its tail, there was a small plume of red feathers as well.
Seeing the little winged snake Milo grew excited, partly because of how cool his tamed beast looked, and also because he finally had a beast of his own. Images appeared in his head of him fighting alongside the black flying snake. While checking out the snake a bit more, he suddenly heard a small voice in his head.
"Food, want food."
Hearing the voice Milo was taken aback. Navi then popped into his head and explained that this was the Beast Whisperer ability in action. He was able to telepathically communicate with the beasts he imprinted on. After hearing this, he scrambled onto his Holo and looked up what sort of food he'd most likely need. But realized that it all depended on the species of the beast, which he wasn't sure of yet. Because of this, he opened the inspect skill hoping that now that the beast was hatched it would clue him in on what species of beast the little winged snake was so he knew what food to order.
[Legendary Rank Infant Tamed Beast]
Species: Crimson Wing Spiny Viper
Status: Healthy(hungry)
Disposition: Tamed
A tamed version of the Legendary ranked beast, Crimson Wing Spiny Viper. Like other tamed beasts, they remain smaller in size when compared to their wild counterparts, but still pack the same punch. They are very intelligent creatures that take down their prey only after coming up with a good strategy to avoid receiving any unnecessary injuries. The spiny scales covering their body are extremely tough and can be shot off to attack opponents at range. When the spiny scales are fired off, they become smooth until the spines regrow. Their bite also has the ability to drain the life force of their opponent.

Reading the screen given by the inspect skill, Milo's eyes nearly popped out of his head. The small baby snake resting on the chair in his room was the offspring of a Legendary tier beast. This was a tier higher than anything he had ever faced. Looking at the beast in its bright red eyes, Milo realized that the little creature could be strong enough to kill even rare tiered beasts on its own, even though it had just hatched.
Milo snapped out of his stupor when he heard the voice repeating "food" in his head over and over and looked up what type of food the beast would need to eat. The only downside he realized at this point would be the cost of food needed to feed his newly hatched tamed beast.
After finding out the correct food using the gatecrasher's server, Milo ordered some of it and headed down to the lobby of the hotel where they had a transport station that could receive teleported packages. After picking up his package, he rushed back up to the room to feed the Crimson Wing Spiny Viper. When entering, he could see the snake coiled up on the bed in the room keeping its eyes locked on the television. Egg shells were still everywhere, and when opening the door, the snake's head honed in on Milo who had the snake's food in his hands.
"Food?" he heard the little snake say in his head.
Once Milo pulled out the food for the small snake, it flapped its wings and bolted over to Milo's side. Its wings were flapping as it floated near Milo's head, not taking its eyes off the container in Milo's hand. The little snake's tongue was flicking in and out of its mouth, tasting the air to see if Milo truly had brought it food.
Milo opened the container and the snake went into a frenzy, flying in circles around Milo's head. Navi then informed Milo that he could also speak to the beast if he pictured its appearance in his head and thought about what he wanted to say. He chose to tell the snake to calm down and that he was getting the food out, as long as it went back to the bed and stayed there he would bring it to it. Hearing this the snake rushed over to the bed and coiled back up looking at Milo in anticipation of its first meal.
The food Milo's beast was supposed to eat was a type of mouse found in low ranked gates. They were common creatures that were essentially normal mice, but due to them being found in gates, they had a small amount of magical energy contained within them. It was this magical energy that was important for young beasts to eat. As they originated from gates, the best food for them to eat was food that contained magical energy. This would also allow them to grow to be as powerful as their wild counterparts. Beasts that ate food without magical energy in it often grew up to be weaker when compared to those who did.
Milo pulled the dead mouse out of its container and placed it in a small dish that he found in the room and putting it in front of the little snake. Had he not seen the corpses of beasts in a gate, he probably would've shuddered while placing the mouse on the dish, but he was used to seeing dead things at this point. As soon as it had food in front of it, the snake dug in, snapping up the food as fast as it possibly could, swallowing the mouse whole. Milo chuckled seeing the little snake gobble down its meal. It had only been a few months since he had seen Waki chow down, and seeing his tamed beast eat in the same manner reminded him of the funny memories he had seeing Waki around food.
While the beast ate its meal, Milo picked up the egg shells from when it burst from the egg and threw them in the trash. He'd feel bad if the cleaning lady came up to his room to see parts of the beast egg strewn about. While cleaning he was thinking of what to name the small creature and couldn't think of anything that fit the little beast.
"What should I name you?" he said to the beast telepathically.
"Name?" the snake said in response.
Milo thought for a bit and something finally hit him. The description of the beast gave him an idea, reminding him of a certain legendary blood sucking monster. The monster's name was Count Dracula, the vampire king. The name of the legendary vampire's son, the prince of vampires' name would be perfect..
"Alucard, your name will be Alucard."
