My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 79 A World Of Magic

As soon as the zombies began getting closer to the entrance, I was able to see first-hand what each of my different magical Minions did.

The first Minion I got to get a look at was the: Scout Minion (Water Magic - Arctic Wind).

From what I could see, it produced wind with shards of water and ice in between. It wasn't a very physically strong attack but I could tell that it significantly impacted the movement of the zombies. It managed to mess with the vision of the zombies, causing them to slow down, especially the crawling ones.

Shards of ice would stick into their eyes, completely blocking their vision, the cold wind also slow their speed down as they tried to push through the force.

The next Minion I got to see was the: Scout Minion (Wind Magic - Defensive Wind).

Similar to the Arctic Wind Minions, these Minions also produced a strong breeze. However, the speed and ferocity of the gusts were much greater than the Arctic Wind Minions. The difference was that the wind produced by these Minions was pure wind, like something you'd get out of a really strong fan.

It didn't have much effect on the zombies who were far away, however, once they got closer, the wind would make it extremely difficult for them to latch onto something. As a result, they struggled to even get through the entrance.

However, the horde of zombies was too great, and eventually, they started to pour through in large numbers.

That's when I got to see the: Scout Minions (Earth Magic - Brute) and Scout Minion (Water Magic - Ice Warrior) join the action.

From what I could tell, they appeared to be like Warrior Minions, however, alongside their physical capabilities, they also controlled dirt and ice respectively. They weren't that much stronger than normal Warrior Minions though and they lacked the ability to hold a weapon.

Even so, they managed to effectively keep the zombies from breaking too far into the settlement. My numerous archer Scout Minions sprayed the zombies with countless arrows as they tried to walk through the small entrance.

As the battle ran on, we managed to mostly cull off the quick-crawling zombies. They were dangerous the first few nights I got transported here because I lacked a large number of ranged Minions. However, now they were being killed before they could even get through to my main force.

All of sudden, I noticed that there were some zombie types which I had never seen before. From a distance, it was pretty hard to identify what they were whilst they were hidden amongst the horde of standard zombies, but it was clear that they were different.

There were some fat ones who appeared to be wearing some sort of armour. I also saw some abnormally tall and lanky ones. I didn't know what their specialities were but I assumed that they'd be quite strong considering they showed up after the 'difficulty increase'. The entire settlement was engulfed in combat.

There were zombies trying to climb over the wall who were swift slain by my reserve force that I kept behind the main line. I also had lots of archers shooting them down before they could even get over and charge at my Minions. My ears were filled with the sound of chaos from all of the fighting, however, for the most part, I was relatively safe, especially with Rook standing beside me.

In terms of pure strength, Rook was my strongest asset. It was an Advanced Warrior Minion with added bonuses for being an Elite Minion. It was significantly stronger than all of my other Minions and I was pretty sure that it'd be able to fight on par with Chloe. Depending on the situation, it might be even stronger than Chloe.

At the moment, I didn't really see a need to send it into the fight. I wanted to keep it nearby just in case I was attacked by a stray zombie. I didn't want to just suddenly die because I got killed by a zombie while I wasn't looking.

Suddenly, Chloe called out to me.

"I think there's a break in the wall over there!"

She pointed over to one of the other sides of the settlement. I looked over and noticed that there had in fact been a breach of the wall. One of the fat armoured zombies had completely just bulldozed through the fortified wall.

They were stronger than I thought.

"Chloe, can you shoot at them?"

"Yeah."

With supporting fire from Chloe, I sent my main reserve force across to take care of the breach. Zombies were rapidly entering through the hole and spreading through the settlement. I sent Bishop and several of my combat Scout Minions over in order to quickly take care of the situation. It would get quite problematic if more came through the hole, they might eventually overrun us if we weren't careful.

I watched as Bishop fought against the fat armoured zombie. The zombie's movements were slow but it was tanking several blows from Bishop. Only after countless arrows were shot into it, did it finally collapse to the ground. With the main zombie killed, it didn't take long to slay the rest of the zombies which had broken through.

"I'll go repair the wall, can you take care of the entrance?" I asked.

"Yeah, go over, I'll fortify it once you repair it."

I quickly made my way over along without the fire magic Scout Minion and crafted another [basic stone wall]. I placed it down where the previous wall had been broken and a Builder Minion came over to finish construction. I stood near the breach to take care of any other zombies trying to get through. A few minutes later, the wall was completely repaired, as good as new.

Ah, it's cold.

I made my way back over to the entrance and called for Chloe. I was instantly warmed up by the heat emanating from the Scout Minion (Fire Magic - Residential Heater).

"The wall is repaired so you can go fortify it."

"Okay boss~"

"Are we still doing this?"

"Oh~ we never stopped, did we?"

...

She made her way over as I took over the watch of the main entrance.

Even with the stronger zombies, my Minions were enough to hold them off for the most part.
