My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 118 Exploring The City

I was woken up by the sound of my Minion Manager approaching me.

Ah, I must have forgotten to check it last night.

I did sleep pretty early so I guess they hadn't returned yet.

With the bright sun shining into the room, I checked the end-of-day report... although it wasn't really the end of the day, it was more like the start. Oh well, I guess the details didn't matter that much.

[I've got the end-of-day report]

I ended up gathering slightly more resources than I did the previous day. I decided to craft all of my resources into various different Minions, mostly focussing on resource collection. After that, I decided to check my Shadow Hunter System.

-

[Shadow Reality]

<Experience> 1681/750 (READY)

Well, as expected, I had gained enough experience to level up again. At this point, I was easily able to upgrade my system at least once every day. I guess that must have been part of the reason for my rapid rise up the global rankings, although I was pretty close to them anyways. I looked at my Shadow Path to see what rewards I had earned.

Hmm, I guess I was getting an upgrade to my regeneration blocker. I didn't receive any information in regard to the upgrade so I assumed that it was just increasing its potency. At this point, any reduction in a vampire's regeneration would be extremely important. Just judging by the regeneration speed of some of the weaker ones, I assumed that the stronger ones would be basically invincible if they were regenerating at full speed.

To be honest, I'd like to test my abilities against a vampire soon. I would probably wait a few more days and level up a bit more, but all these upgrades should allow me to kill the weaker vampires with relative ease. At some time, it'd probably be up to us leaderboarders to kill the main vampire forces.

The elves were very advanced but in terms of military strength, they were only as strong as their technology and skills brought them. They had no 'cheats' like us humans, meaning someone proficient with their weapon like Elanor would likely be as strong as they'd get.

[Shadow Reality]

<Experience> 931/800 (READY)

Well, I still had enough experience to level up again.

It was simply another Soul Mark Strength increase. I checked it to see how much I'd developed.

-

<Soul Mark>

Strength Amplification: 350%

Speed Amplification: 350%

It was a pretty decent improvement, the same as last time. I guess I'd go outside for a run and see how much of an effect this had. Now that I thought about it, it'd be good to find an elf to practice sword fighting with. I still needed to increase my proficiency with [Tengen-Ko-Rin] since I still wasn't very good with the large weapon.

After fixing up some organisational issues with my Minions, I began making my way outside onto the street of the grand elven city.

It was pretty early in the morning so I still had some decent time until my lunch date with the princess. I wasn't really sure how she was meant to find me but I'm sure she'd find a way. The royalty of the city seemed to have some very overbearing rights over all of the citizens.

I walked through the street, looking at the various storefronts. There were lots of different retail shops selling things from books to clothes to furniture. I didn't really have anything in particular I wanted to buy so I did a bit of window shopping but didn't see anything of interest.

Eventually, I walked to a separate block where I saw something that seemed of interest. It was a pretty grand building which seemed to be for sword training. I couldn't really tell exactly what it was but I decided to go inside and check it out. It was called 'Swordplay Dojo', although it didn't really resemble a conventional dojo that much.

As I walked inside, I saw that there was a reception area where a relatively old lady elf was sitting.

"Hello... um, what exactly is this place?"

"Ah, you're a human aren't you?"

"Yes..."

"Well, we've got instructors who teach sword fighting here, although the price is pretty high."

"Um, I mean I've got a decent amount of money."

She grabbed a sheet from under the counter and showed it to me.

-

[Prices]

>Group Lessons (Monday-Wednesday: all day):

[1 Hour] - 10 Krena

[3 Hours] - 25 Krena

(Group discounts available)

>Private Lessons (Any time)

[1 Hour] - 65 Krena

[3 Hours] - 150 Krena

-

Based on the value of the currency when I was at the bank. These prices would be simply unaffordable for most humans since they were probably hovering around the 50 Krena mark in terms of net wealth. However, I had quite a large sum of money and I was constantly earning more just from the military contract which meant that these prices weren't too bad.

Depending on how good the teaching was, the improvement in my swordsmanship would definitely be worth the money.

"So, who's the instructor?"

"The public lessons are taught by Alok, who used to be in the royal guard. The private lessons are taught by my husband, Laiex. He used to be one general for the main elven army. Both the instructors are retired, but their skills are still there."

They seemed like pretty convincing qualifications. It'd probably be worth a try.

"Um, the private instructor free today?"

"Yeah, no offence, but are you sure that you can afford it?"

"It's fine, I'm sure I can afford it."

"Don't buy it if you won't have enough money to put food on the table."

"Yeah... no I think I'm alright in that regard..."

She was really cautious, maybe something happened with another human who tried to get lessons here.
