Chapter 195: Thoughts stirring
Yang Wei was faster than Han Li. The more they fought, the more it became evident.
Han Li was far more skilled in balancing himself, swinging at weird angles, or taking his enemy by surprise. Yet, Yang Wei was learning more with this fight as his foundation.
He was just a High-Proficiency Blade wielder for an Evolved, whereas Han Li was even beyond Mastery at this Stage of cultivation. His sword slashes were always better than Yang Wei's, but due to sheer speed advantage, Yang Wei kept dodging his attacks or blocking them.
The more they fought, the more apparent Han Li's two big weaknesses became. Speed and Regeneration. Little by little, the wounds on his body piled up. No scratch actually healed quite fast enough. Some scabbed up pretty quickly, but it was slow.
Whereas, even when Yang Wei almost had his whole hand cut off, he just humped back and healed up. It was indeed irritating.
Yang Wei in the Bone Form was a fighter Han Li had no chance of defeating using brute strength alone—at least for now. Taking a deep breath, Han Li distanced himself and looked at Yang Wei, who had his bone-like skin shining in the light of the morning sun.
Both of them paused.
Han Li was a strategist more than a brute, but when his Magic Powers were so easily countered like this, he could clearly see his own flaws. There was no clear way to kill his opponent in his grasp. There was no end-it-all attack in his hand. He was a passive fighter.
Feeling rather lighthearted, he teased, "Yang Wei, you certainly don't seem to have improved much from last year. Just an added Magic Power to protect yourself from my Magic Powers… are you only this much? Was your year only this much?"
Yang Wei growled slightly. His eyes intensely murderous. Han Li had become entirely different from the last time they fought—no longer was Han Li so vulnerable as long as he lost his Magical Powers. His body was unnaturally strong.
Overall, it was weaker than Yang Wei's own physique, but it was, at the same time, capable of surviving against him. With a cold laugh, Han Li attacked this time, his form jumping through the air as his sword whizzed towards the opponent's neck.
Just as Yang Wei wanted to defend, a behemoth aura of fear struck him deep in the heart. Just as he was overwhelmed and just as his neck was about to be sliced, though, another force controlled his body and kicked Han Li just in the middle of his guts.
The place the hit was given was just right to make him fly meters away and roll through the ground like a ragdoll.
A feminine voice spoke again in the form of Yang Wei, "What level of sword mastery! Even I am filled with admiration! And… Heart Qi," The voice was cold, borderline emotionless. "It is almost as if you are a reincarnated Transcendent Stage Cultivator in the body of a youth in the Evolution Stage, won't you say so, Han Li?"
Han Li chuckled and stood up, stretching his back as his red eyes shined mischievously. "So you finally showed yourself, Spirit."
Yang Wei cursed suddenly, "I will fight!" and once again, his voice became less feminine.
A sigh reverberated, and Han Li scratched his head in irritation. "What a pest," he muttered before flourishing his sword in a cold manner. Suddenly, his demeanor changed entirely.
The hair at the back of Yang Wei's neck stood up in genuine, mortal fear, and he instinctively gave away his body's control to the Spirit.
The woman's eyes—Yang Wei's—also slightly trembled at the sudden change before she grew defensive. Only for that sudden feeling to vanish as Han Li once again grew languid and rested the sword on his shoulder.
"Spirit, huh? You should also be a Transcendent… at least, once upon a time."
The Spirit emotionlessly noted, "Just like you. There is no other way for you to be so strong. I also concur that you are… one of the seven inheritors of the Sacreds."
Han Li raised an eyebrow, alarmed.
"You know many things," he said. He had a slight inclination not to kill and instead research her previously after he got rid of Yang Wei, but it had all vanished.
He would kill her. Unlike the people in the Awakening, Evolution, or even Power Birth stages, Han Li saw Transcendent differently—they were his peers—all deadly creatures. None of them were worth giving roots to grow, as they were each people who could easily threaten him by their mere existence.
They were as old as him; they would have hearts as calm as his, too. This woman, she was better off dead.
The Spirit cackled. "To see a true inheritor of the seven Sacreds, what a fabulous thing. For once in decades, Yang Wei is also so tamed that his soul couldn't possibly overtake mine for a long while. If I kill you and steal the position of the inheritor for myself, will I be able to suppress him entirely?"
Han Li's eyes burned like timber in red fire. He smiled casually.
"What are you?" he asked.
"You don't need to know." The woman replied.
Han Li chuckled. "I know what you are, actually. It is easy to guess, after all."
The Spirit froze but then mockingly looked at him. "You know what I am?"
Han Li walked towards her with an eery smile that sent shivers down her spine.
"Spirit. Spirit. Spirit. As far as I could tell, you do not have a fleshly vessel, yet you are still alive. And as far as I know, your Lifespan had been used up long ago—a Transcendent is not supposed to live so long. Then another fact, the fact that you are not from this world at all."
That made Han Li chuckle, but the Spirit shivered and jumped back, making distance with him. Han Li looked at her with eery calm. Life Vision was indeed a powerful thing. Till now, the Spirit had never dared to stand so proudly in front of him, and now it was doing exactly that, and his Life Vision had gotten its first reading on her.
It was surprisingly simple and surprisingly… similar to Li Shuanwei.
—
[Munyu] [Age: 1200]
[Current Cultivation: Unawakened]
[End time cultivation in the first life Premonition: Unawakened]
[End time cultivation in the last Premonition: Unawakened]
[Death: (in the last premonition) never died.]
—
The reason for Li Shuanwei being so hadn't yet been clear to Han Li, but now, he could clearly understand why. He even understood the true nature of his Life Vision ability with just this result.
He breathed out.
There were three types of Cultivation in the Seven Continents.
Beast Cultivation is where one evolves their Beast Cores to grow stronger. Animal, Beast, Beast King, Beast Emperor, and Beast Daemon level Beast Cores. This originated from the Everlasting Beast World. This was the cultivation of the body.
Once trained to perfection, it should make him invincible by theory.
Dao Cultivation was the cultivation where one would train to become closer to the Heavens by having a better Dao Soul. A Dao Soul closer to their Dao.
Spark Acquire, Awakening, Evolution, Power Birth, Demi-Sacred, Transcendent and Sacred. This cultivation, as far as Han Li could tell, was focused on his Empty Space. The more his Dao Soul evolved, the more perfect his Empty Space would become.
The Sacred Stage Cultivators had an Empty Space that was literally a world on its own, the Demon World, after all. Thus, the theoretical perfection for the cultivation was clear to Han Li—gaining ownership over all 7 Great Daos and combining them into the Origin Dao.
He would become the one and only heaven, and his Empty Space would transform into the Seven Continents. Once he completed that, he should attain Omnipresence and Omnipotence—at least over the Seven Continents.
He would have all of the Magical Powers in the whole world, after all, with no bindings. No. Magic Poweers would become obsolete. He would be controlling the Daos themselves. Normal Daos like the Lust Dao and the Great Daos like the Life Dao and all combined… The Origin Dao.
The Origin Dao was the reason the world of the Seven Continents was created in the first place. It should theoretically make doing anything possible. Theoretically, he should become Omnipotent if he has control over the Origin Dao.
And since the Empty-Space-turned-World would be inside his own body, it should also be equal to him attaining Omnipresence even though he was blurry about what such alien concepts... meant. They were distant things.
But to him, their end goals were clear.
And finally, the one type of cultivation that he had only seen one other person practice… the cultivation Li Shuanwei had introduced to Han Li… Vital Weapon Cultivation. What could be its end goal?
The Beast Cultivation aimed for invincibility.
The Dao Cultivation aimed for Omnipotence and Omnipresence.
Then what did the Vital Weapon Cultivation aim for?
As random thoughts stirred in his mind, his movements became slightly sluggish.
Yang Wei—the Spirit—immediately noticed it.
'He is having an enlightenment in the middle of a battle!' It roared and ran towards Han Li.
He was completely undefended.
