Kace felt his brow creasing as he read the the notification. He felt it was strange for Grugda to be losing. The only reason he had chosen Grudga over the others was how important he would be to helping him find the other pillars. In reality he had never really been given a choice.
He roared at some monsters when he passed them by.
"Get your asses over there! Kharja needs help!" his tone was furious as he pointed to the East.
He did not even bother to check if they had heard him or not. He just hoped that they would listen to him and get there in time.
Sweat began to trickle down his brow making him feel incredibly uncomfortable as he raced though the streets. He still had a DNA choice he would have to make.
He had been agonising over the choice since it had appeared but realised there was one that would be more beneficial than the others just now.
With a deep breath he chose [Magus]. Instantly bolstering his mana pool and increase the power that would be put into his spells.
He received a pleasant surprise when he chose this option. His mana was also fully recovered. He chose to save the remaining DNA points for later.
As he turned another corner a wave of extremely hot air washed over him. Grugda was taking cover behind a dome of earth he had created. His opponent was the man that Kace had killed when the heroes assaulted the goblin caverns.
This was when there was a shift in the battle. Grugda looked like he was extremely weakened as the fire bore through his defence and rushed towards him.
Without having a moment to spare Kace threw out his open palm towards Grugda! [Spider Thread]!
The string shot out at a rapid pace, entangling the Eljein. Without being gentle about it, Kace pulled hard on the thread. Grugda gasped in shock as he felt himself being pulled off of his feet.
Kace was a second late though. The fire wrapped around one of his legs as he pulled away from the blast zone. Creeping over his skin and turning it black.
As Grugda was swept away behind him to safety Kace turned his attention to Phillip. 'This guy...' his brows furrowed as he tried to understand how he could be alive.
This was important information that he was sorely lacking right now. If he managed to kill him again would he just return later?
He swept his halberd to the side as he prepared for battle. His muscles were tense and his eyes fully focused on Phillip for any signs of movement.
Phillip on the other hand was rather pleased. His mouth curled up into a wide grin. His target was right before him! This was his chance to finally be rid of his curse!
The pair had entered a standoff, sizing each other up. When he had saved Grugda his opponents information had popped up.

Although his opponent looked weaker than him on paper he knew he could not underestimate him. Phillips hand twitched and Kace reacted. [Stampede]!
The ensuing fireball that Phillip cast did not even leave a mark on Kace as he burst through the intense flames. Phillip drew the sword at his waist just in time to absorb the impact from the menacing halberd that was driving towards his ribs.
His arm softened from the blow, forcing him to place his other hand on the flat of his blade to give it more support. His feet slid across the ground as his muscles jarred in their attempt to halt the deadly blow.
Kace took a step inward towards Phillips body and swung his free hand. Looking to use the hooks on his gauntlet to gouge out his stomach.
Phillip quickly jumped backwards out of his reach. Causing Kace to lose his balance. As he stumbled forwards Phillip raised his sword for Kace to run himself through it.
Deciding not to try and keep his balance Kace tucked his head in and allowed himself to fall underneath the pointed blade, rolling to safety.
As he was completing his roll coming back to his feet he twisted his body. Swinging his halberd in a wide arc. Phillip countered with a fast firebolt to knock it off its course.
As the halberds blade dug into the earth Kace used the momentum to launch himself towards his opponent. It was clear that Phillip did not excel in close combat.
He drove his spiked knee towards Phillips exposed flank but Phillip landed a punch on his thigh making his leg feel slightly numb. Causing it to lose much of its power.
Although the strike had been weakened the spikes still pierced into Phillips flesh. Causing him to wince in pain.
[Cursed Weapon]!
Following up to his successful strike he struck Phillip with the halberds pommel. Marking him with a curse stack.
Phillip jumped back yet again. Trying to create distance between them. As did so he waved his hand. Creating a wave of fire to incerate him.
[Spider Thread]!
Attaching it to a wall he pulled himself from its area of effect. As soon as he was free he released it and threw out an [Ice Spear].
A wall of fire appeared before Phillip. Evaporating the ice as soon as they came into contact. Causing an explosion of steam. The blast threw Phillip through the air, scalding him. His exposed skin turning scarlet by the second.
A further [Ice Spear] flew at him through the steam. Piercing his shoulder and pinning him to the wall. Phillip screamed in agony. His face contorted in an attractive way.
Another spear came flying and impaled his leg to the ground. Just for good measure. Phillips face paled as blood flowed freely from his wounds. His sword lay on the ground next to his limp arm.
Kace wore a sadistic grin on his face beneath his mask. Though the look in his eyes betrayed his intentions as he paced towards the defenceless hero who was at his mercy.
He tapped his halberd on the ground as he walked. Displaying an imposing aura. Phillip gritted his teeth and defiance flashed in his eyes.
'What's one more death, huh?' he thought as he watched the monster approaching him.
Kace raised his halberd with a sneer, swinging it with all of his might aiming to cleave Phillip in two.
"Let's see you come back from this!" he snarled.
A flash of lightning burst through the air! His blow was halted mid swing by a short blade. Between the stood Sarah. Her eyes gleaming with interest. She had watched the entire fight. She was not interested before as when she had last met him he had been weak. That was obviously no longer the case.
Kace on the other hand felt an intense pressure. He gulped as this new opponents stats appeared.
