Chapter 333: Going West
Chapter 333: Going West
"They have killed Constance" Jacob suddenly stated to the other Six Hells.
"Hm? I knew she didn't have it in her. It's only a matter of time until they clean up her minions." Katie laughed while thinking of her now truly deceased comrade. "So, who do we choose to replace her?"
"What about Sarah? The one who's still following Erik?" Jacob replied as he ran his hand through his short, black hair.
"Yeah right! That's Amy's sister. She'd slaughter us for trying to poach her!" Katie said while sifting through her memories of Amy. "There's no way she'd let Lord Zornok push her to her limits."
"You think so?" Jacob fixed his bright green eyes on Katie. "I've only met Amy once I thought she'd be thrilled if Lord Zornok were to help her sister. But, if this goes on much longer, he may have to take action himself. They've now gained control of an entire country."
"What about the Elves?" Patrick suddenly mumbled while sorting his monk's robe. "How long will it take them to hunt down the anomaly?"
Everyone's eyes turned to him with a grim expression. Patrick had secluded himself recently, so he was out of the loop.
"There's a problem with that." Katie rubbed her temples while looking at the bald monk. "They ran into an unexpected problem. One that they couldn't handle."
"What kind of problem?" Patrick raised an eyebrow with a curious expression.
"Demon King Pride's son is here" Katie sighed while looking at Patrick who's face flashed with anger.
"That arrogant bastard? What, he's had enough of running around trying to restore the demon clans? What's he here for?" Patrick growled, as the demon in question was responsible for his hair loss. As well as a few choice songs about Patrick that appeared in the Demon Realm.
"Forget it for now. We can guess that he's probably seeking the Monster Nation as allies to help start a rebellion in his own realm. But that's not the issue." Jacob stated while glancing around the room. "All the Realms are on the move. Reports suggest that Night Elves, Dwarves, Kansara, Titans and others are headed towards this realm."
A sharp intake of breath sent the room into silence. The three who had said nothing yet wore complicated looks on their faces as they digested this information. This minor rebellion was having far-reaching effects they were not prepared for.
"How did this even happen?" Patrick sighed as he hung his head. He could tell he would have to spend a lot of time on the battlefields in the future, when he would rather devote himself to worshipping Haestus.
"There's a traitor among the Gods. Isn't that obvious? Lyreve was in charge of this world. So this couldn't have happened without her intervention." Katie scowled while staring at the ceiling. "I heard Lord Zornok speaking with Lord Jack. Apparently the Heavens are in turmoil. That little tramp is going around trying to find allies of her own!"
"Damn! It's no wonder Lord Zornok sent us here. I thought that our forces here would be enough." Jacob frowned as he stared at Katie. "So, what's our next move?"
Meanwhile, a gorgeously tanned woman gracefully walked through the desert. Her eyes were fixed on the monster running towards her. She allowed herself to smile before collapsing to the ground, sending a small puff of sand into the air.
"Rysa!" Kace yelled as he tried to force his body to move faster. "Rysa!"
He stared at the figure lying in the sand as he closed in on her position. She looked unharmed, but he could not be sure. The sound of cannon fire rang out from somewhere behind him as the monsters used the airship to retaliate against the remaining undead. When he finally reached Rysa, he could see that she was still breathing. After all, her clothing left little to the imagination.
'She's fine!' Kace heaved a sigh of relief as he gently scooped her up in a princess carry. 'She looks like she's just exhausted. I'll drop her off at the infirmary on the ship.'
Kace glanced behind him to see the night sky lit up by a multitude of different colours. The enchanted cannonballs exploding made it seem like fireworks were going off. The scene made him feel somewhat nostalgic. A small, sad smile crept across his face as he watched the scene play out for a few minutes. 'I think that's enough for now'
Kace raced back towards the city, while carrying Rysa in his arms. He did his best to prevent her from bouncing around too much to keep her comfortable. As they drew close to the gates, Kace spotted Orcs jumping from the airship into the last crowds of undead. 'Seems they're ready to have some fun. The battle must be almost over then.'
Personally, he was more than happy to let the orcs clean up the place. It just meant that he did not have to deal with anymore piles of rotten flesh trying to latch on to him. 'Josh would have had a field day with this. Where did he go anyway?' The wraith seemed quite aloof recently. As if there were things he did not want to discuss with Kace.
Which would be fine if Kace did not need him to help him escape. Now that the city was entirely under their control, it was time for him to disappear for a while. Hopefully, that would give the monsters time to sort out their differences and actually work together.
'There are too many political plays going on. They shouldn't be acting like this at all. Things were simpler when it was just the goblins, orcs and myself.' Kace sighed as he remembered those days. Now, there were hundreds, sometimes thousands of monsters dieing every day in some corner of their country. Whether it was from pushing back the heroes or from trying to take more territory.
One thing was for sure They were still not ready to fight a larger war just yet. They needed time. Time to develop and accumulate resources
