Chapter 197: Small loses for heavy gains
Chapter 197: Small loses for heavy gains
Yuan Fang clutched the neck of the spy that he had inserted into Yun Jhin's sect with disgust as he muttered to himself:
"What type of technique did he use to turn this fool against me?"
He looked into the eyes of his former subordinate as he clenched his hand harder breaking his neck then he opened his mouth absorbing the soul of the recently deceased pawn.
His eyes glowed for a few seconds before he retched almost vomiting to the ground as he said:
"Mindwashing? This old trick is so despicable but effective... why didn't I think of it first?"
He easily got rid of the downed body below him as he sighed before calling down his two most important cronies which were the man with the monkey tail and the blonde long-haired man.
They both kneeled to him as they waited for instructions:
"It seems our spy was found quite fast, what do you two think of this?"
The monkey tailed man bowed and decided to say:
"It's his own fault master Fang, it must be because his skills were insufficient."
Yuan Fang snorted as he glanced at the monkey tailed man:
"Ukog it seems that you thought a little bit too little of our deceased friend."
Ukog bowed again but didn't say anything else.
The rather talkative blonde-haired man didn't say anything as he looked at the spot where the body of the spy previously laid now not even ashes remained there.
He suddenly said without being asked by Yuan Fang to speak:
"I think Yun Jhin is quite the peculiar fellow, master..."
Yuan Fang nodded as he glanced at him and said:
"It seems Duritz is still smarter than you Ukog."
Ukog shrugged as he didn't really care.
"Yun Jhin's techniques are peculiar and because our spy didn't train in the blood throne sects technique beforehand his identity had been seen through, it can't be helped we don't know how would he control the people with his technique once they cultivated it, no matter how many times he says that there are no strings attached to the technique."
Yuan Fang didn't know much about Yun Jhin besides the surface information that everyone knew, after all, when he was at his peak in his previous life he didn't investigate Yun Jhin much as he had other targets, he only started to investigate him in this life after he reincarnated and he couldn't find much if anything at all about him.
It wasn't that there was no information about him but Yuan Fang didn't have the proper connections to get his hands on it!
He was currently a wanted man for the extermination of the elf race along with the destroying of two planets.
He had to live in hiding until he created his own intimidating sect but up till now he hadn't been able to do so, unlike Yun Jhin he didn't have a proper location where he could erect buildings, he wanted to use the former headquarters of the blood throne sect but his control over the core formation was wrestled over by Yun Jhin...
Yuan Fang sighed as he dismissed the two and looked towards the dark skies:
"You broke through only a little bit later to me but you already behind in the race..."
***************************
Yun Jhin sat cross-legged on the surface of the blood river as he looked into it, images of various disciples from the sect could be seen in the river, even though his technique didn't do anything to those who cultivated it he could easily monitor everyone who did.
He was currently looking at the spies' locations using the blood river as a conduit, he could also do it by himself but there were chances those God Realm experts near the double agents could sense him as his cultivation base was way lower than theirs at the moment, but with the powers of the river he could easily hide and still spy on them.
"Hmm, Andonara is still as crazy as ever, Yuan Fang found out about the spy and the other sects could care less about what happened, it seems that they are still the same as ever, only running after benefits, not wanting to make enemies if there is nothing to get out of it. Ah, the nature of cultivators is truly wretched at the core, but who am I talk about that?"
He waved his hand making the river clear again.
He had lost quite a few spies even though he made sure they didn't leak anything when they went to report, it couldn't be helped considering the leaders who sent them to spy on him were one hundred percent familiar with them so they could see even the tiniest changes in them, Yun Jhin's mind washing technique wasn't perfect and he knew that it would never be so he couldn't create perfect double agents.
"For now let's continue conquering the small sects around before we will move onto the medium ones, afterward things won't be as easy as they are now but I should get enough resources to facilitate another breakthrough."
As Yun Jhin would get closer to his former peak he would be able to do things more 'explosively'.
Right now he could be considered as low-key as he could get or else he would have started an inner-sect war between all the top sects already, he needed the others to be preoccupied with something when he will reach the peak of God Realm and reach the core of the universe. But first things first he had to find the core.
He wasn't sure if the others knew about the way to break through above the God Realm but if they did that meant the way to locate the core of the universe was harder than it seemed to him.
He shook his head as it wasn't time for him to think about these things, he still had quite a lot of things to do before he could go for that search.
For now, he had to focus on absorbing as many sects and other organizations as he could into his.
He memorized the whole map that he had been given previously so he didn't need to open up once again, he looked through his memory for the next target and decided to go for the nearest sect that had the same standing as the Deer Antlers sect.
However for now he would wait until he had enough disciples, he couldn't have empty lots, and absorbing the weak disciples from them wasn't really that good at the moment, he didn't need the cannon fodder yet, there was still a little bit more time until he would have a find for them, but he was preparing something big.
Yun Jhin sat cross-legged over the surface of the blood river as he meditated only moving from there from time to time to get the news that the elder duo gave him with both hands.
Even though he didn't make any moves any more tons of rogue cultivators started to join his sect again as he gained more territory and the sect filled up again with 10,000,000 people, seeing what happened Yun Jhin got another banquet going before he created another ship and loaded 5 million of the relatively less talented disciples for another assault!
His armored body appeared above as he created another ship which loaded all 5 million disciples on it then it disappeared in the universal skies along with him.
His next target was called the Egret Pavillion it was a dual-cultivation based sect which Yun Jhin decided to take over on a whim, his information about them wasn't exactly complete but from what he found about them was that they had quite the fertile lands that produced resources that might even be useful to him, so he would be able to use them for his cultivation and sell them as well making a profit which he could further turn into other resources for cultivation.
The Egret pavilion was located on a middle-ranked blue planet, it was full of water as 94% of it made up the surface of the planet and the land-dwelling people lived on the other 6%.
There were also many aquatic races living in the oceans that Yun Jhin also wanted to subjugate, while the pavilion existed on the land he wanted to take over the whole planet.
Some specialities that he needed were underwater. Since there was a lack of information Yun Jhin had also made up his mind for any surprising things happening but as long as things didn't go wrong he would end up with another planet added to his territory.
It took him 3 days of travelling to reach the planet as it wasn't that far from the Deer Antlers sect, Yun Jhin looked down at the blue planet below him and took in a deep breath as he unleashed his 5 million disciples on that 6% piece of land letting them run havoc when suddenly he felt something was wrong...
The space that he was in was suddenly locked making him unable to teleport if he wanted to!
