Chapter 157: I had many lives
Chapter 157: I had many lives
Yun Jhin had so many lives that he had to actively search for the memory cores of his earlier ones or the memories from those lives wouldn't pop into his consciousness, it couldn't be helped, he had access to the memories but he couldn't stuff all of them in his soul, after all, even a peak God Realm expert's soul couldn't handle so many memories by themselves, they could create memory cores and separate them as if they were all different hard drives in a computer.
Yun Jhin could feel his consciousness transfer into another person... as he looked around he realized that he was in a dungeon filled with dead people, all of them were already started to rot, most of the visible meat and skin was dark and filled with maggots, all the blood was dry and there were brittle dry old bones strewn around him.
His hands were tied to a wall with steel manacles and there was nothing around him besides the putrid corpses.
Yun Jhin sealed his sense of smell as he looked around and felt that his whole body was numb which meant his blood circulation was blocked beforehand... did the owner of the previous body died?
Yun Jhin started to search for memories of this particular situation but none came into his head... that meant this person who died here was hurt unintentionally by Yun Jhin, Yun Jhin's actions were far-reaching and this person could have been a son daughter, or relative of someone he killed or enslaved, thus his cronies decided to deal with him to curry favor even though Yun Jhin didn't set out any orders for him to be killed or kidnapped.
Yun Jhin sighed as he started to sense his inner situation, it seemed that his cultivation was half-crippled before the owner of the body died previously, his meridians were shattered but his ki pathways were still strong enough, meridians could be healed with time even for a mortal but if the pathways were severed only those at the sage realm or above could mend them by themselves and that was with the use of precious materials.
Yun Jhin closed his eyes as he felt the drained ki in his body starting to enliven at his attempts to cultivate, the broken meridians sent sharp bouts of pain through his whole body but he ignored it, it wasn't his main body and this wasn't a test so he could abuse those bodies as much as he wanted as long as he got the results that he needed.
The dungeon Yun Jhin was currently in wasn't that big, the rotting bodies were in a big mound near him and if he moved wrongly they could pile up on him and drown him, there was a small iron door at the end of the dungeon that suddenly opened as Yun Jhin tried to cultivate.
A bald ugly old man came forward, his back was bent from old age and he had liver spots all over his face, he had a dirty goatee that was full of grease and he wore a red effeminate armor, his eyes darted from side to side and saliva was dripping from his mouth which showed that he wasn't fully in his mental capabilities, his face was also flushed which indicated that he was also drunk.
He came closer to Yun Jhin's body as he looked down at it, Yun Jhin closed his eyes and faked death while waiting for the man to get closer to him so he could kill him!
The old man got closer to the mound of bodies but a leg that stuck out from the mound seemingly tripped him, he tried to support himself on the unsteady mount which made the mound collapse on both Yun Jhin and him!
Yun Jhin closed his sense of smell but he couldn't make himself unable to feel the slithery feelings of those putrid bodies, it was quite disgusting but he endured as he waited for the old drunken man to something.
Yun Jhin frowned as he heard snoring, the old man was knocked out by the booze and he felt that the putrid corpses were a great alternative to a quilt.
Yun Jhin became a bit angry at this setback, his ki revolved inside of him as he ripped the steel manacles of his hands with sheer arm strength alone, the dungeon was full of death ki and Yun Jhin had ways to harvest it to return his cultivation to normal which wasn't weak, he was currently at the peak of the ki cultivating realm and he was close to the King Realm.
He searched a bit for the old man who was buried in the mound of corpses and took him out before slashing his neck and absorbing his soul for information. Sorting through the useless information Yun Jhin realized which reincarnation he was in right now.
The owner of the body was previously a prince of the nation that Yun Jhin had taken care of, Yun Jhin killed the king and stole the wife because she was a great incubator for his devilish techniques and decided to take over the kingdom as well in passing, the prince tried to protect his mother with his life but he easily got captured by his former reincarnation's cronies and beaten to a half-crippled state before being thrown in the dungeon with the reminder of dead people or dying people.
Yun Jhin frowned as he remembered the cultivation his former reincarnation would have at this time... it was around the early stage of the Emperor realm which meant that with his current strength even a suicidal attack wouldn't do anything... this would take him a lot of time unless he burnt his potential and used a forbidden formation... but considering the current situation he could do both.
Unfortunately, Yun Jhin's reincarnation could be considered rather experienced by now, if he remembered correctly, this was his 627 reincarnation and he went through a lot of hardships to reach this number, he wasn't a pup like the former one where he let him live until he got greedy enough for the urn treasure.
To create the formation he already had the ingredients, which were human bodies and lives.. the forbidden technique also needed time to prepare which meant he couldn't act immediately and he knew that his former reincarnation would leave the kingdom the moment he finished cultivating using the King's wife as an incubator, absorbing her whole Yin energy dry and thus killing her in the process.
That meant he would have to get to work already!
Yun Jhin started to move the bodies in the dungeon according to the formation's diagram that he drew in his head, he also heated the dry blood until it became crystallized as he used it to create runes.
At the same time he was creating the formation in the dungeon he was also punishing his body using the forbidden technique, expending his life span and talent for a sudden increase in strength at the moment he needed it.
His blonde hair was currently turning silver at a quick pace.
Up above him in the king's bedroom, the queen's cries could be heard through the whole upper part of the castle. The maids were deep red as they heard the queen's moans and they made sure to not get near, they heard her moan like this for hours and it seemed like it wouldn't stop soon!
Suddenly after 5 more hours, the moan's stopped as a gloomy man with dark hair and eyes came out of the bedroom, he slicked back his long hair and tied it in a ponytail as he put on a dark robe made from an unknown metallic material.
He had a dark aura around him that was full of blood, death, and decay, there was even a skull image appearing behind him from time to time as the aura condensed.
Behind him the open doors showed the beautiful queen with blonde hair barely moving, her legs were shaking due to the intense actions that had happened previously in the bedroom and her face was as white as a paper sheet, at this rate he would die in a day or two due to exhaustion.
While her face was white Yun Jhin's complexion was as rudy as possible as he stood there and closed his eyes to concentrate on refining the Yin energy that he stole from the king's wife.
Suddenly a rumbling came from the dungeons which made Yun Jhin's eyes open and flicker as he looked down there.. he frowned as he didn't remember imprisoning anyone strong there... were his cronies that useless that they would let someone that he didn't even bother to learn about escape?
Suddenly a dark palm made of rotten flesh came out of the floorboards and grabbed at Yun Jhin's former reincarnation foot, dragging him through the floors breaking them, and making him arrive forcefully in the dungeon where Yun Jhin was currently, at the same time a barrier surrounded the both of them making them unable to escape, death ki started to rise out of all of the corpses that Yun Jhin put in some peculiar positions around the dungeon.
The death ki then infused itself forcefully into Yun Jhin's body as the bodies around him started to dry like prunes until they transformed into nothing but dust, everything that made from blood to stains to anything that remained from humans disappeared from the dungeon as Yun Jhin absorbed it all to strengthen himself in accord to the forbidden technique.
The formation's use wasn't to trap his former reincarnation, that was only part one of the formation's use, it's main use was to supply Yun Jhin's forbidden technique to give him enough strength to deal the death blow!
His former reincarnation shook his head as he cleared his mind from the dizziness of being dragged through 13 floors by a decayed piece of rotten flesh only to find himself in a dungeon with a crazy old man that looked to be ready to explode at any moment, Yun Jhin's current form was of a hulking abomination with an open stomach where his intestines and organs could be seen, he had crazed red eyes and his skin turned a sickly green, and he was ready to kill his former reincarnation to advance even further into the test!
But a snort came out of his former reincarnation's mouth as he looked into Yun Jhin's eyes and his aura solidified... the skull pattern behind him became fully visible as a sudden pressure appeared to start pressing Yun Jhin's abominable body down trying to transform it into a meat pancake...
