My Journey to Godhood as a Caterpillar

Chapter 151: This treasure isn't for you (3)

Chapter 151: This treasure isn't for you (3)

Yun Jhin realized that he was pitied against his former reincarnations if he guessed correctly, the trial was somehow making him live the lives of those he wronged in the past, no matter if they were his offsprings, women that he used, or men that he used.

He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do in this situation, kill his former reincarnation to finish the trial? Escape from it?

As he was currently in baby form all he could do was rely on his former reincarnation, fortunately, he was an earlier reincarnation and he still had some humanity left in him, he was in the 10 or 20 first reincarnations.

Yun Jhin's baby form looked at his former reincarnation's face with an innocent look, this made him melt up a little bit, he was in a tundra but he still keeping the baby to his chest trying to keep him warm.

Yun Jhin's current situation was quite pitiful, his body was literally freezing to death and there wasn't much he could do in this situation if his father didn't help him, while his soul could influence normal beings it couldn't be useful on cultivators at the heavenly realm or above and his 'father' was currently around the 5th or 6th heavenly realm from what he inferred by his soul scan.

It wasn't a problem with the strength of his soul but his body, technically speaking Yun Jhin's current soul shouldn't be contained in the body of a newborn or it would explode, somehow the trial made it so his soul wouldn't deteriorate the body nor destroy it but if he used even 2% or 3% of his true strength, the body would surely explode!

His father's figure was shaking as the cold was getting to him as well, his cultivation wasn't that high and the tundras cold was surely seeping in his body as well, it was actually a miracle Yun Jhin's current baby body resisted up till now, he should have died by hypothermia tens of minutes after birth but he somehow was still alive.

Yun Jhin could feel some heat in his stomach that was keeping him alive, it was the remaining energy from his mother that she gave him when she died during childbirth, the energy was keeping him alive at this point but the energy would run out sooner or later, and his father was eyeing him with a rather greedy gaze, he wanted to rip his stomach open to get the energy from his small body so he wouldn't die!

Yun Jhin knew that he shooed the wolfs away only to be in the teeth of a tiger, there wasn't much he could do to him, all he could do was try to make himself look as innocent as possible and fool him into taking care of him, hoping to appease to his remaining humanity, the earlier reincarnations killed a lot when it came to adults but they were a little harder to convince on killing children. This was why Yun Jhin was still alive at this point even though he had something his 'father' needed.

But Yun Jhin knew that his thoughts wandered to the energy that his mother left into his body, the energy that he wanted to absorb for himself so he could live a little bit longer thinking that he might escape!

In the end, he did escape from the pursuit of the king, the nation they lived in was rather small and as they got farther and farther away from it the king realized that his troops being away from the nation for too much of a time would let them be ambushed by the rival nations, in the end, Yun Jhin was saved by the dog-eat-dog world characteristic of the cultivation world in this reincarnation.

But would they survive to get out of the tundra at this rate?

Yun Jhin's baby body was starting to shake even though he still had energy inside his stomach, there was a high chance they would both die at this point!

His father's eyes started to wander over his small body as his hands closed into his stomach, he was ready to split it open and take away the remaining energy that was slowly diminishing with time!

Yun Jhin started crying as he felt the cold hand on his belly, seeing him acting this way made the reincarnation reconsider for a few seconds, after all, Yun Jhin was just an innocent baby, could he really kill him to save himself?

As they got further and further into the tundra somehow the cold air started to turn a little bit hotter... his former reincarnation started to run quicker as he could feel his arms and legs again, slowly but surely the surrounding temperature was increasing!

They were reaching 'the eye of the storm' which shouldn't technically exist in a tundra, but this was the same way Yun Jhin survived when he was in this reincarnation.

Actually it took Yun Jhin all his strength to reach this 'eyes of the storm' in his previous life, but now he could influence his former reincarnation using his stronger soul, while he couldn't control or scare him into submission, he could give him small hints with his soul that wouldn't trigger his suspicion.

The heat finally was good enough for them to start resting, Yun Jhin was put to rest in a small haystack that his former reincarnation took out of his spatial bag, Yun Jhin remembered that this hay would have been used to lit up a fire for a diversion to escape from the pursuit who caught up to him when he reached the eye of the storm, now that he was at the eye of the storm faster than in his previous life there was a lower chance they could catch up to him.

Yun Jhin felt his belly rumble, he was finally starting to get hungry!

He needed milk but where could his former reincarnation take milk from? There were no animals that he could milk in the eye of the storm, but there were some fruits here and there.

His former reincarnation went and picked up a few of them and mashed them into a gel-like substance that he inserted his ki into it then fed to Yun Jhin, it was better than motherly milk in nutrients, this was a technique Yun Jhin used in his former lives when he was poorer and had to live in the wilderness.

Yun Jhin's small body started to cough as the energy that his mother left dissipated, it had been around 15 hours since his mother's death and it was impressive the energy she last gave him could be sustained up till now.

Seeing Yun Jhin's rapidly cooling body made his former reincarnation understand that while his body was protected by the energy, the rebound coming to him was quite big, how could a baby not even a few days old resist the power of a cultivator? Not even strong and healthy adults could resist a sudden influx of energy from a cultivator, they could explode from the inside if they weren't talented nor had any unawakened constitutions.

Fortunately for Yun Jhin the energy that was inside his body was very weak and even though it lasted long it wasn't of a high amount, thus if he was treated he could be saved.

But his current reincarnation didn't know any healing techniques!

He was rather poor in knowledge considering the first 100 reincarnations, but as he reincarnated more and more he became a jack of all trades who mastered all of them!

Yun Jhin knew that he would die if he was left like this so all he could do was send some information into his former reincarnations soul that would give him the proper healing technique so he could be helped, he would die anyway, this would certainly be a gamble at this point but there was nothing else to lose and everything to gain.

Yun Jhin looked directly into his 'father's' eyes as he started to send the information through a hastily made soul link, his father's eyes narrowed as he looked directly towards Yun Jhin and said:

"Someone like me? No, he was way stronger in his former life, this is my first time meeting another person who can reincarnate, is this fate? A reincarnated one having a baby who is another reincarnated one?"

Yun Jhin's former reincarnation slowly got near the haystack that he left down while his hands started to burn with red energy, then he used that energy to attack Yun Jhin's body!

Yun Jhin's paling complexion immediately started to turn a little bit rosier as the cold energy in his body that came from the tundra was expelled by his former reincarnation technique.

Yun Jhin sent him some more information creating a fake identity that he used, he also promised him more techniques and ways to grow stronger if he kept him safe.

Yun Jhin's 'father' started to ponder Yun Jhin's proposition, he only had to keep him alive and he could be like a walking library that could teach him whatever he needed!

After a short moment, Yun Jhin's former reincarnation nodded at him and there was a change in the universe, a thunderstorm appeared above them but it disappeared as quickly as it came, Yun Jhin could also feel a strange connection from the universe on his former reincarnation...

Did he just become a fortuned one right now? Fortuned ones could be created like this?

Yun Jhin gained an interesting piece of knowledge right now, but could it be used outside the pagoda's territory?
