Chapter 121: Simple war but complicated schemes
Chapter 121: Simple war but complicated schemes
Guerilla warfare was especially effective in this current situation, the Empress had gathered her strongest followers in the capital and left the weaker ones to protect the cities, thus Yun Jhin could attack the more important cities and conquer them.
While this wouldn't trigger a chain reaction as good as conquering the capital, it would still break morale for quite a lot of female supremacists. After all, the females had grown weaker with time, their battle power got lower due to the peace they had to go through, they had almost perfect lives the moment they were born, so they didn't go through adversities and they became weak.
In contrast, males were pitied against each other so they could get better lives, they would always try to be stronger, better looking, and have a better vocabulary compared to their competitors, they tried their best to become stronger in all aspects to please the females, thus they had a stronger aura around them that intimidated the females when they were releasing it consciously.
Most males were wanting the revolution but there were quite a lot of men who also were too brainwashed to break through the problem, they didn't make more than 20% of the whole male population but that was still a considerably large amount. It couldn't be helped, they lived like this for too much time.
Yun Jhin was giving orders through the communication stones that were laying in front of him, the second and third teams were slowly encroaching on the cities that they have been given to capture.
"Team two here, we are slowly capturing Baylon city, we have captured around half and I can say that the resistance is very weak, they have some brainwashed males that they are using as cannon fodder.. we tried to weak them up, however..."
Yun Jhin's eyes lit up as he asked:
"How many of them are there? Have you tried everything you could?"
"There are around, 2,000 left, unfortunately, we had to kill some to scare them, we did try most of the things you taught us but it didn't work, what should we do with the remaining captives?"
Yun Jhin told him in a gentle tone:
"Come back with them to the camp, I will try my best to break the brainwashing, however, If I cannot do anything regarding that I shall send them on their way properly, We cannot let them die as long as I haven't tried everything I could on them!"
The captain of the second team gave an affirmative answer as they continued to kill the females and capture the city, after a while a notification came from the captain as he told Yun Jhin that the city had been captured and they left some males behind to control it before they moved on the next one.
The third team also came with similar questions to Yun Jhin regarding the brainwashed males and Yun Jhin gave them the same answer, to send them back by escorting them with a few Emperors, the brainwashed males were only the weaker ones that remained, the stronger ones had to be unfortunately killed.
The third team then captured the Skiddolo city, leaving only 4 more important cities to conquer.
After a few days, almost 10,000 brainwashed males were sent to Yun Jhin, Yun Jhin made some experiments on them while showing everyone how good he was with the brainwashed males even though some of them spit on him or even attacked him rabidly while he tried to heal their affections.
In the end, Yun Jhin absorbed all 10,000 of them reaching 30,000 absorptions as he told everyone that they couldn't be saved, he tried everything he could and this made the males of the camp look upon him with even better light, they looked at him just like someone would look at a saint who tried to save the world from poverty and sin.
Ghin came forward and bowed to Yun Jhin who was currently meditating while keeping an ear open for the communication stones:
"Yun, we have all prepared for the capital mission, we are waiting for your signal."
Yun Jhin nodded at him and waited, it was slow but they were almost reaching the end of the divide and conquer strategy, they couldn't use all of their personnel on this but capturing the most important city hubs would give the capital a strong blow, they wouldn't be able to trade anymore and the citizens would start to grow restless as they would be boxed in the capital. Maybe they would even start to pin the blame on the Empress and her army. People were fickle with emotions and phoenix females and males were even more so, due to their fiery attributes they were easier to sway and manipulate using their emotions.
Yun Jhin waited for a little bit more before he got some news:
"We have caught Szayeren city..."
"We have captured Dirron city..."
"We have captured Balton city..."
"We have captured Tangolo city..."
Finally, all of the important cities had been captured and the capital was now boxed in its bounds, their trade routes had been cut and now they had to use their resources to survive, while the cultivators would have it better, some citizens couldn't cultivate, they weren't in high numbers but they did exist and they were also rather important, they did the work that cultivators wouldn't normally do and if they rioted the well-oiled machine that was the capital could jam and break.
Yun Jhin was using such tactics to destroy the capital from inside, after all, he was at a numerical disadvantage and he wanted to play things as safe as possible, he looked down at his chopped arm that was still slowly recovering and frowned, after he absorbed these 10,000 brainwashed males the recovery of his arm increased by only a very little bit as the majority of the energy was absorbed by the system. He disliked having such an obvious injury that could be abused by his future opponents, however, he knew that it could heal before he left the planet, but it could still trouble him in the final battle.
The Empress was livid as she got up from her throne, her shaking body was almost ready to fall due to her immense anger, her son Hanzen was supporting her as she gave him the order to let her on the outer edges of the palace, even though she couldn't live the grounds of the palace she could go to the edges of it.
Her life was tied to the palace and the formation that covered it kept her alive, the combination of the location and the formation kept her alive and her injuries suppressed, but if she moved the palace the formation would break and the auspicious location would vanish killing her instantly. The god male phoenix would be laughing gleefully in his reincarnation if he knew how hard the Empress was living right now.
The Empress's body steadied itself as she reached the outer edges of the palace, she was now on one of the corners of the palace where the view of the capital could be seen at the best angle.
She sighed as she looked down at everything she worked hard for, she looked at the scared civilians and the tense weaker cultivators, she blinked her eyes as she moved her gaze towards Hanzen who immediately looked down at his feet as her eyes moved to his. He put her fingers on his chin as he made him look in her eyes and asked him:
"Was I wrong Hanzen? Have I done the wrong thing making males our subordinates?"
Asking male such questions was quite ironic in Hanzen's opinion, especially one you had in your palm and had been manipulating your whole life to do whatever you wanted him to. Hanzen wasn't dumb, he was just prideful, he actually realized that the male slaves he sent after Yun Jhin could potentially die, he didn't know that there was someone so proficient in formations that he could break the slave collars. After all, formation masters were rare... his mother was one but she couldn't work on them anymore due to her weakened body, so she only gave him instructions on how to do it.
He shook his head as he told her truthfully, he didn't care much about life and death at this junction:
"I think equality based on strength would have been better, it shouldn't matter if one is male or female, but how hard one's fist is! You have suppressed the males too hard... this is why they rebel now, to be honest if I wasn't in your control I might have actually joined them."
The Empress shook her head as she laughed like the old crone she was, she patted Hanzen's shoulder as she told him:
"Maybe I should have just let your explosion remain the same, reverting time was a mistake back then, but I got such a bad gut feeling when I looked at their commander Zhao Yun, I'm not sure why It was like I was looking at something that I can't understand."
Is a peak God Realm expert unable to understand something? That was pretty much impossible at one point, but the old crone couldn't fully see-through Yun Jhin!
Their cultivation difference was immense so this made the crone quite uncomfortable to the point she used time reversal, especially his glittering eyes, they were making her feel like he had thousand of schemes behind them.
She returned by herself to her throne as Hanzen stood there and watched the changes in the capital and shook his head while muttering:
"We have gathered everyone here, every sage realm and Emperor Realm expert, our army is mighty but... can we defeat them? They might have a number disadvantage but they are all males... should I just give up and let them in.. they already captured the nearby cities and boxed us in, mother should have realized the same thing, that should be why she left her throne, to see her self-made empire for the last time..."
"Whatever... we will see..."
He entered the palace as his silhouette disappeared, he needed to do a bit more thinking.
Yun Jhin laughed triumphantly as he met up with all of the sage realm experts near the capital, he was now supposed to go through with the first team to destroy the formation and then contact everyone else to jump in and trash the capital.
But there were problems with this plan now, Yun Jhin could feel that the formation would expose him if he went through in stealth, to break the formation he had to get near it and find the weak point, last time Ghin had been familiar with the formation as he lived in the capital and had to run one errand in the capital for the prince before. That made him get in contact with the formation.
But now things were different, the formation was systematically changed to the point that Yun Jhin had to be in contact with it for some time before he could decipher how to break it like before, attacking before the formation broke would get too many casualties and if Yun Jhin made them do that he would lose a bit of their trust and lower their morale.
Yun Jhin sighed, the first team wasn't that big, they were twenty in number and they had a few middle stage sage experts, 1 peak expert, and Ghin with him.
They had to create both a distraction and get in contact with the formation at the same time, Yun Jhin was the one who had to touch the formation so the others had to be the distraction.
Yun Jhin's plan was thus put to work, he disguised himself as a female and got near the capital while the others immediately started to make a ruckus and attack the formation trying to break it, this made the females stationed on the wall inform the higher-ups and make them run here in full force.
The team waited for a little bit before they ran away leaving the coming females puzzled.
A red-haired female with an average build with a ditzy look on her almost fell from the wall as she was grasped from the back by a strongly built female then patted her back while saying:
"Peuh, you almost fell there, I guess these males scared you good huh?"
The red-haired female nodded multiple times while the woman asked:
"Hmm.. seems you are around the 3rd stage of the Emperor realm, you will have to fight later, so don't make such mistakes again!"
The red-haired girl nodded multiple times while keeping an awkward smile on her face.
When the strongly built female turned around, the red-haired female's eyes turned cold and dark without any emotions as she walked along the walls, she was moving closer towards the first small formation core.
