Chapter 67 Taste Of Humiliation
The clock was showing sixty-seven minutes as Unique FC players passed the ball around in their own half trying to draw out their opponents and see if they would get something done.
"The match has been pretty quiet so far, two wasted chances from both sides and nothing else," Jim said.
"Yeah, Spree City have switched to a defensive style of play now that they have the lead, something Unique FC should have done while they were still leading," Steve said.
"I think Unique FC have been playing well so far, especially their attackers but they've just been making those mistakes, mistakes like the ones they've made are not good for any team especially when it comes from the defenders." Jim expressed.
Unique FC received the ball from the right side of the midfield.
"Minino."
Minino pushed forward with the ball before taking off.
"Looks like he wants to go on a sprint," Jim said.
The midfielder ran forward with the ball and just before crashing into the left back quickly heading toward him, he passed the ball to Ferran.
Ferran got away from two players with some neat footwork combined with his speed before passing the ball to Merino who was open on the right wing now.
"That was beautiful from Ferran," Jim commented.
Merino quickly cut inside the box before finding Mateo who was open on the left.
"Unique FC are looking dangerous here," Steve said.
Merino passed the ball to Mateo before the defenders could get to him.
Mateo got his foot on the ball and with a backheel pass sent it back to Roland who was heading toward him now.
"Oh, this looks promising for Unique FC," Jim commented.
Roland was in a good position to shoot with players rushing toward him but he decided to pass the ball to Ferran who was open at the edge of the box.
Ferran received the ball with his right foot and stretched it further into the box before firing a shot toward the goalpost.
"It's Ferran!" Jim screamed.
The goalkeeper was glued to the spot as the ball flew past him and banged on the top right-hand crossbar before falling over for a goal kick.
"Oh, no, it hit the post."
Everyone supporting Unique FC had almost jumped up when Ferran fired that shot but just as it hit the bar and fell out for a goal kick they all let out loud gasps.
"Oh, come on," Ferran said with a devastating voice before crashing down on the floor and covering his face with his hands.
"Hey, come on, you'll get it next time."
The midfielder removed his hands from his face to see Mateo standing over him with his hands stretched toward him.
"I just hope it doesn't come too late," Ferran said before grabbing his hand and getting pulled up by him.
"We're playing better, we just need to take our chances well," Mateo said.
"Yeah," Ferran said with a nod.
"The sides should have been leveled now, that was a terrible miss from Ferran," Steve said.
"Yeah, he's usually good from those positions but that one went wrong, it was close and the keeper was glued to the spot, he wouldn't have been able to stop that if it had gone right," Jim said.
"Tell Ferran and the others, if you get any chance from outside the box, shoot, you must not always reach the box," Norman said to Minino who was standing in front of him at the edge of the sidelines now.
"Okay, coach," Minino said before quickly making his way to Ferran.
Spree City were in possession of the ball and it looked like all they were trying to do was pass it around their own half and stop Unique FC players from getting possession of the ball. At least that's what it looked like to Unique FC players, their coach, and a lot of their fans.
The second Jamie found Kelano in space, he played a long grounded pass to him.
"Kelano."
Kelano knew it was going to be hard getting past Roland so he passed the ball to their central midfielder before racing past Roland to receive the elevated pass from him but before he could do anything, Adolf swooped in from nowhere and stole the ball before quickly passing it to Dave.
"That's one nice way to win the ball," Jim said.
Dave trapped the ball with Felix quickly racing toward him but the goalkeeper didn't bend to pick the ball or make any attempt despite the calls for the ball from his teammates.
He waited until Felix got closer before he turned and with a three-sixty rotation got the ball past him.
"What did Dave just do there?" Jim said with an amazed tone to his voice.
"That was nice Jim but I think it was too risky given the fact that they are already one goal behind," Steve said.
Dave quickly passed the ball to Roland as soon as he got rid of Felix but just as the ball left his feet he was brought down by the striker under a nasty challenge.

"Owww." He let out a soft groan before crashing to the floor.
The referee blew his whistle and quickly rushed to the spot to show Felix a yellow card.
"Why would you do that? He had already passed the ball to Roland and you purposely went ahead to tackle him" Adolf said with a furious look on his face as he headed toward Felix.
"What are you going to do about it?" Felix muttered with a smug look on his face as he didn't seem to be fazed by the way Adolf was looking at him.
"That was a nasty challenge given the fact that Dave had already cleared the ball before it came and I think the yellow card is well deserved but I don't get what the whole ruckus is about," Jim said.
Aima and Luis Roberto were following the referee around now asking him to show Felix a second yellow card because they thought he deserved it.
"Hey, you two cut it out," Torres said, stepping in between the two who had their heads joined together with furious looks on their faces.
"You're just lucky he's okay," Adolf said before turning his gaze to Dave who was sitting on the floor now.
"I think Dave is okay and he's getting up now," Jim said.
"Yeah, that tackle didn't look that rough and I don't understand why Felix went for it because he's picked up his fifth yellow card now which means that he will be missing the next match," Steve said.
Dave's ankles felt a little limp after getting up but after a little jumping, he got rid of the feeling.
<You know that was really dangerous, he could have dispossessed you of the ball and scored or that tackle could have ended terribly for you>
'I know but it was nice to give him a taste of all the humiliations he's been doing to me.'
The game had resumed with Roberto running down the wing with the ball now.
He passed it to Ferran who didn't waste any time in passing it to Edward.
Edward moved forward as he scanned the area and that was when he spotted Mateo leaving his wing and heading toward the middle.
He lobbed the ball to the winger but he wasn't the only one who had left his position.
Jamie rose high to stop the ball before it got to Mateo and seeing what the right-back was trying to do, Mateo jumped up to stop him.
Jamie had won the aerial duel and just a few seconds after pushing forward with the ball, Mateo dropped to the floor.
"Hey!" Ferran screamed at the referee while pointing at Mateo.
There was no foul but he had to stop the game so that Mateo could receive attention for whatever had happened to him.
Fred and Ferran were the first to get to him and you could say they were quite shocked by what they were seeing.
His face was covered with blood coming from his nose and mouth.
"Hey! Tell the medical team to get over here!" Fred yelled to Merino who was the closest person to the sidelines.
"Oh, no things aren't looking good for Unique FC here, Mateo Smith is down here with his whole face covered in blood," Jim said.
Emma was jotting something down on her jotter when she heard that.
She quickly raised her gaze to see lots of players gathered around her brother in the area.
"Mateo." She gasped.
