Chapter 47 Career Quest
Dave sat in the locker room with that pissed-off look still on his face.
The coach had told him earlier that he wasn't supposed to be part of the training because he was supposed to be at home resting and that was why he had been sent off but instead of going home, he had decided to come to the locker room instead.
<Hey, just go home and rest like they said, staying here won't do you any good>
'I know.' The goalkeeper replied with a sigh as he slowly got up from the seat.
Before Norman had ordered him out of the pitch, he had caused a little stir with the things he had said to Jonas.
All of his teammates knew of how much Jonas used to criticize him and they never thought he was going to talk back to him and he didn't just say anything to him, all he said to him were facts that nobody had really pointed out yet.
Talking to Jonas like that had taken everyone by surprise, they knew Dave to be a calm and introverted person but anger can push anybody to do what they wouldn't do under normal circumstances.
<Well, at least you achieved something> Catherine said after he entered his car and shut the door.
'What?'
<You finally responded to that jerk in one of the best ways possible now he won't just say anything to you again>
Dave didn't respond to her as he let out a sigh before turning on the engine of his car.
Everywhere was slowly getting dark as he drove home and by the time he arrived home, the sun was almost gone from the sky.
He got out of his car and slowly made his way to the door. He knocked twice on it and before he could knock the third time, the door had been opened by Emma.
"Hey." She said with a warm smile on her face but that smile died down as soon as she noticed that he didn't have the brightest of looks on his face.
Dave didn't say anything to her as he slowly made his way into the house.
"How did the training session go?" She asked.
It had been almost two hours since he left so she had assumed that he had actually trained.
"It's going well for them, I guess." He said looking at the staircase.
"You weren't allowed to train with them?" She asked, moving closer to him.
"No," Dave said, shaking his head.
"Hey." She said, placing her head on his shoulder. "It's okay, it's just one match and if you look at the bright side you'll see that it's not really something to feel down about."
"What bright side?" Dave asked, turning his gaze to her.
"You get to spend more time with me, we can even go out together and go watch the match together later in the evening." She said with a smile.
There was no expression on Dave's face as he stared at her but it didn't take long before a smile appeared on his face.
"Where do you want us to go together?" He asked.
"Anywhere you want, anywhere that will make you feel better and get your mind off the match during the day." She replied before removing her head from his shoulder.
<That's a pretty good idea>
"Okay," Dave said before quickly moving around the room. "Is Emilia here?"
"No, she left almost an hour ago," Emma replied.
"Okay."
Before she knew what was happening, she was pushed to the wall by the side.
Dave had been careful not to touch her wounded shoulder so he had pinned her against the wall with her right shoulder only.
"What is going on?" She asked with an amused look on her face.
"I don't know what I would do without you." He said intently, staring at her.
"Awn, I don't know what I will do without you too, babe." She replied, staring directly into his eyes.
That was the way he always looked at her, with burning desires in his ear but there was just something about today, it seemed more intense.
He slowly initiated a kiss with her as she slowly placed her hand on his shoulder.
The kiss slowly turned to quite a passionate one as he wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her away from the wall.
She gasped for air after he had pulled out from the kiss but she wasn't getting any breaks as he immediately placed a kiss on her neck to send a wave of exhilarating feeling from that part of her body to the lower part of it.
"I just wish I didn't have to be so careful with this shoulder." She moaned.
She just wanted to wrap her arms around him and completely feel the exhilarating wave that was moving through her body now.
With each movement of his lips on her neck she would let out a soft moan.
After sucking on her shoulder for a while, he lifted her and carried her to the couch.
Normally he would have just dropped her there but because of her shoulder, he slowly dropped her there.
"Thank you." She said with a smile.
She wanted to say something but before she could say it Dave had started sucking on her neck again and instead of words, moans had come out instead.
______ _____
Dave woke up on his bed with a white sheet covering his body.
He let out a little yawn as he turned to the side expecting to grab Emma but unfortunately he didn't feel anyone.
He quickly raised that part of the sheet to discover that she wasn't there.
<She only left a few minutes ago>
He let out a sigh as he slowly stepped down from the bed, picked up his pants, and put them on before picking up his sports jacket which was lying at the edge of the bed.
He slowly put on the jacket as he made his way down the stairs.
He made his way to the kitchen where he had correctly guessed Emma was going to be.
She was putting on a red robe and was holding two cups of coffee in her hands as he walked in.
"Coffee?" She said, raising one of the cups toward him.
"Thanks but I think I'll have a glass of water instead." He said before quickly making his way to the freezer.
"Okay, I'll just drink them both." She said before dropping both of them beside the gas cooker.
She then turned toward Dave to see the two liters of bottled water above his mouth with the last content falling into his mouth.
"You said you wanted a glass of water." She said with a baffled look on her face.
"Well, that's a glass of water to me." He said before dropping the empty container on the floor.
"Two liters is not a glass of water," Emma argued.
Dave didn't say anything as he slowly walked up to her and kissed her.
"Do you really want to start an argument about what is and is not a glass of water to me?" He asked, staring deep into her eyes.
"No." She said, shaking her head with a smile on her face. "I'm glad you sound happy again."
"Why wouldn't I be happy when I'm with you? Sure I still want to be part of the match but spending a full day with you without any training interruptions is also something to be happy about." He said, placing his hand on her jaw.
He placed a simple kiss on her lips before quickly making his way toward the exit of the kitchen.
"I'm going for my morning run now." He said before jogging toward the door.
Emma stared off toward the exit for a while with a bright smile on her face before slowly turning back to her cups of coffee.
"Two cups of coffee." She muttered looking at them.
