Those were the rewards the goalkeeper got for completing his match quest, he wasn't even bothered to look at them because he already knew what they were.

The atmosphere in the stadium didn't look like it was calming down even after the players had finished greeting the fans.

Ferran was announced as the man of the match which was understandable given his performance in the match.

He was one of the best players on the pitch here today but was he the best? That was debatable but it's not like anybody had any problem with that.

The last matches of the first half of the league were quite thrilling, Unique FC were now four points ahead of Dynamo FC because they ended up drawing their match, and as for Supreme United, they took quite the heavy loss losing three goals to one against Spree City.

That was their first loss of the season and that meant that they were just one point ahead of Unique FC.

Norman and his boy ended the first half of the season in second place, but with the current standings, it was safe to say that the second half of the season was going to be really spicy.

Dave was heading toward the tunnel with Mateo when they ran into Emma and of course, Amber was there with her.

"Hey, guys good job out there," Emma said before making her way to Dave.

Amber appeared to be way more awkward than she would be in that situation.

She looked toward Mateo and as soon she made eye contact with him, she quickly put her head down.

"I knew Supreme United were starting to crumble under pressure from their last match, but still I wasn't expecting them to lose against Spree City." Emma expressed.

"It's pretty nice how they lost, now we're only a point behind them, this title race seems to be getting closer."

"Yeah." She said before turning her gaze to her brother who looked like he was about to leave. "Hey, Mateo, do you mind joining us for the match interview?"

"Are you going to be the one asking the questions?" The winger asked.

"Um…why does that have to be a problem?"

"Because if you're not the one asking the questions then you're better off taking Dave."

After hearing him say that, she let out a sigh before grabbing him by his arm.

"Alright, let's go."

Dave watched them make their way to the area before he turned his gaze to Amber.

"Hey, Amber how're you doing?"

"I'm fine." She muttered before she began to make her way to Emma.

Dave made his way down the tunnel room and straight to the locker room where he found Minino and the other players running around <She's not fine>

'I know.'

Dave made his way down the tunnel room and straight to the locker room where he found Minino and the other players running around making a lot of noise.

He seemed to be a bit wilder than he was on normal days and that was because they just ended the first half of the league just one point away from being at the top.

Dave was never in the mood for running around inside the locker room so what he did was sit down on the bench, and before anything else, he decided to check his post-match rewards.

'That looks nice, I guess.'

<You don't really care about the experience points that much anyway>

'Huh? Why are you saying that?'

<You leveled up a few matches ago and you had absolutely no reaction to that>

'Well, that's because leveling up has been the same rinse and repeat method, I just get stat points and skill points, I'm just waiting for the level up that will unlock that last skill.'

<Hmm…Well, it makes sense when you put it that way>

[ 995/2076 exp ]

'A few more matches now and I may see myself heading into level fourteen.'

<Yeah>

'Is that the level where I unlock the new skill?'

<No>

'Then I guess there's no reason to be excited about it.'

The players stayed in the locker room for a while before Norman came in to discuss a couple of things with the players.

The couple of things he wanted to discuss with them was their upcoming match against S.S. Lazio in the Europa Conference League.

He didn't want to say too much to avoid stressing the players after all they just came in from beating Tereville City, all he needed to do was make it clear to them that despite qualifying for the next round, they needed to take the match seriously and beat Lazio to make sure they finished at the top of the table.

After that he went on to talk about other things and those other things were just casual topics, he spoke and laughed with his players before wishing everyone a happy winter break from league football.

The date was the fourteenth of December, that was the day the league went on winter break to return on the sixth of January.

While every other team went on their break that day, some teams like Unique FC still had some unfinished business in Europe.

Dave made his way straight home after spending some time with his teammates.

It had been quite a long day but now he could finally get some rest.

They were free from Sunday to Tuesday so that was a couple more days worth of rest.

He drove into his home as the gate closed behind him, and after parking his car carelessly just as always, he made his way into the building.

He could smell something coming from the kitchen so he knew his wife was home.

"Hey, babe, I'm home." He said as he made his way toward the staircase.

It didn't take long for Emma to pop up from the kitchen as soon as she heard his voice.

"Oh, hey, welcome back." She said with a smile on her face.

Dave turned his gaze to her before quickly turning it back to continue making his way up the stairs.

"Yeah, I'm going to go up now and maybe take a shower."

"Okay, but you have to be fast, I'm almost done with dinner."

"Sure."

He didn't really have the strength to go back downstairs after taking his bath but he promised to come down for dinner so he had to go down.

By the time he got downstairs, Emma had already set up the table and all they needed to do now was sit down and enjoy their meal.

They ate quietly for a while before Emma decided to ask him something.

"So, you guys are getting three weeks break this season, you only got two weeks last season." She said.

"Yeah, that's because of the matches some of the teams like ours have to cover, if not, it would have been just two weeks."

"Okay." She said before taking a sip from the drink she had beside her. "So, are we going anywhere for Christmas?"

That question caught the goalkeeper by surprise as he stopped mid-way in putting the piece of stake he had on a fork inside his mouth.

"I uh…. haven't really thought about that." He replied.

"It's okay, we can talk about it now."

"Okay, so where do you want to go?" He asked.

"Um…shouldn't we be deciding this together?"

"Just make a choice, I'll go anywhere you want to go." The goalkeeper said.

"Anywhere?"

"Um…except a few places but I know you wouldn't want to be in those places either."

"Okay, fair point, how about Germany?" She suggested.

"Germany? Where in Germany?"

"Since you let me pick the place, I'll let you pick the city." She said with a voice emitting her cheerful mood.

"Oh, that's not how it's supposed to work but fine, I'll think about it."

"You'll think about it?"

"Well, yeah, I have to find out the best city, I can't just make a random choice." He explained.

"Well, okay, that makes sense." She said with a nod.

The next morning, Dave got up first as always, and made his way outside to kick off his day by running a couple of laps around the building.

After doing that, he went into his gym and spent some time on the treadmill before returning to his training pitch.

It was leg day for him today so everything he was doing was mostly related to his legs.

He was joggling the ball on the pitch now, but he wasn't doing that just for the sake of doing it.

He had a couple of waste bins set up on the pitch and after getting the ball into the first four from where he was standing, he had to get the ball he was joggling now into the last one which was quite the distance away from him.

After joggling the ball for a while, he kicked it up and now it was the moment of truth.

'Here I go, Catherine.'

He got his foot on the ball and sent it flying toward the area but he didn't aim for the bin directly.

The ball flew past the bin and hit the crossbar before bouncing back and falling into the lid.

"There you go!" He yelled before suddenly crashing to the floor.

<That was pretty smart going with that approach>

'Yeah, I know.'

'Maybe I should try it again.'

He was about to get up from the floor when his phone which was lying right beside him began to ring, and turning his gaze to it, he could see the name Clark there.
