Chapter 408 Last Five Games Of The First Half
With the match now concluded, most of West Ham United players quickly made their way down the tunnel while all of Unique FC players stayed on the pitch to greet the fans who cheered them on till the end.
"What a surprise, the underdogs of the group are the first ones to make it out of the group stage, I wonder if they'll go on to be the underdogs of the competition." Jim expressed.
"Well, we'll have to wait and see," Steve commented. "Another team that's on the right track to qualifying to the next stage is S.S. Lazio who just beat Villarreal C.F two goals to one."
"They now have seven points which means Unique FC will have to beat them in the next match to guarantee that they finish in first place, and for Lazio, they'll have to beat the Bilbeth Premier League side to keep themselves above but the chance of Villarreal zooming past them is still there."
The commentators talked about a few other things regarding the future games and how they were expecting everything to turn out before they finally decided to bring the broadcast to an end.
Mateo was announced as the man of the match and that was sort of expected given his level of contribution in the match but honestly, it could have gone to someone else and nobody including the winger himself would complain about it.
The players had just finished greeting the fans and were making their way down the tunnel.
Minino started his post-match show right from the hallway and there was no doubt that it was going to be crazier today.
They just qualified for the knockout of the competition so why not be a little extra today?

The goalkeeper had his gaze on his system screen as he made his way down the tunnel alongside his teammates.
This new trend of getting small match quests with small rewards continued even with West Ham United, but he was hoping that they would be some kind of switch up against Lazio but he wasn't really expecting that much from the last five teams they were going to face to end the first half of the season.
None of them seemed like that much of a threat but then again, he couldn't forget that any team can be a threat under the right conditions.
He was expecting Catherine to say something about all the thoughts that were going through his mind but she remained quiet but he wasn't surprised in any way, this wasn't the first time.
Mateo had to break away from the group before they got to the locker room because he needed to use the restroom.
After getting his business done in there, he got up to take a look at his nose with the help of the mirror.
Looking at it, it didn't look like anything was wrong with it but just as he placed his finger on it to try and push it a little, he let out a little squeal.
"Ah, that hurts way more than I expected."
Now he knew he had to refrain from touching it, for now at least.
'Placing some ice on it will make it feel better, right?' He said subconsciously as he made his way out of the area.
Right at that moment he saw someone walking down the hallway.
He didn't recognize her at first because she now had her black hair down now and was putting on a black long-sleeved dress instead of the white coat he saw her with last time.
"Oh, hey, Natasha." The winger said as soon as she made eye contact with him.
"Oh, it's you." She said sounding a little uninterested.
"I've never seen you with your hair down before."
"Well, that's not a surprise given how you couldn't even remember my name." She said.
"Oh, that." The winger said with his hand on the back of his head.
"Don't worry, I'm not complaining, it's not like you have any reason to remember." She said before shaking her head.
"You weren't complaining?"
"Yeah." She replied. "Do you have anything else to say, if not I'll be taking my leave now."
"Okay." The winger said.
"Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you, try putting some ice on your nose when you get home, it'll make it feel better." She turned back to him to say.
"I will, thanks."
"Alright, see you later then." She said before continuing her walk out of the area.
As soon as she was out of sight, Mateo made his way to the locker room to find Minino running around with his followers just as expected.
He even had more of the players joining him today and that wasn't exactly unexpected given what they achieved today.
The winger was sadly unable to join them because if he dared try to do so then his nose would surely pay for it, but it's not like he cared.
He made his way to Dave who was busy going through his phone and sat down beside him.
"Oh, you're back," Dave said with his gaze still on his phone as soon as the winger sat down beside him.
"Yeah, what are you looking at?" Mateo said before leaning closer to him.
"The Balon d'Or ceremony is on the eighteenth." The goalkeeper said.
"Oh, but none of us got nominated."
"You were nominated for the golden boy award," Dave said.
"Yeah, but my chance of winning that is low, there were way better young players last season, especially in the English Premier League."
"Yeah, you're right, but I think you have what it takes to win the next one."
"I hope so," Mateo said. "So, who do you think is going to win it this season?"
"Probably Ciro, I mean he won the Champions League plus he won the Copa America the season before last season he was the best player in the tournament and had a pretty impressive run in the Champions League," Dave explained.
"Yeah, he's definitely winning it."
[Post-match rewards ]
[ Five crucial saves: +50 exp ]
[ Goals conceded (0): +100 exp ]
[ Scored a goal: +150 exp ]
[ Match rating: 8.2 ]
Dave was about to react to that when another message suddenly popped up on his screen.
[ Market value has increased by £500,000 ]
[ New market value: £1.5M ]
'Wow, looks like I got more expensive.'
<Good job>
'Thank you.' The goalkeeper replied subconsciously. 'I wonder how much further my market value is going to rise after winning or trophy and how much further winning a treble is going to make it rise.'
<The treble dream is something you should get your hopes up for, you guys are up against really tough opponents, but there's a good chance that you guys will win at least a trophy this season. Obviously, the European trophy has more value looking at it from a general point of view but any one of them you guys win will give your market value a good boost>
'Okay, and what are the numbers.'
<I really can't say but if you want to find out, then you'll have to help your team secure a trophy this season>
·ƈθm 'Of course, you can't.'

With the match against West Ham United now done and their guarantee to the next round now accomplished, the Bilbeth Premier League side went back to league football.
They were back in third place because they were behind in the number of matches.
There were only five matches left before the first half of the season came to an end and they had only this week and the beginning of next week to complete it.
Their match against Lazio was supposed to be that week but it was moved to the next week to avoid match congestion for both teams.
A mistake from Unique FC during these five matches could see them drop to third place because Dynamo FC seemed to have found their form which was missing for a couple of matches now.
On the other hand, if Unique FC fails to make any mistake and Supreme United ends up being the ones making the mistakes then the Uniques will have the chance to move to first place and they were looking forward to that.
For the last five teams Unique FC were going to be facing, they were; Spree United, Litno FC, Ballena United, Razid FC, and Tereville City.
The last match between Unique FC and Spree United was quite a tough one and despite seeing the spot where the Uniques were now, Spree United believed that they still had what it took to take them on.
They paid a visit to Wondanimo stadium for their first meeting of the season which many fans were looking forward to seeing but the results of the match was quite shocking to a lot of them.
Spree United's coach seemed to have underestimated Unique FC trying to go all-out attack on them without giving any proper thought to his defense.
Well, Norman made sure his team punished them properly with every opportunity they got as the home team ended up trashing them six goals to nothing, their biggest victory so far this season.
