Chapter 35 Match Quests
Dave got home by around one thirty PM, he parked his car in his normal parking spot and quickly made his way to the entrance door.
He opened the door to see Emma and Karen standing there with Karen putting on the same black dress she was putting on yesterday.
"And I thought I was going to leave without saying goodbye to you," Karen said on spotting him.
"Oh, you didn't say you were going this early," Dave said pretending to care.
'Finally.'
"Well, I should have left earlier than this but I wanted to say goodbye to you first but it looked like you weren't going to come back soon and I am so glad I haven't left yet," Karen said.
<Wow>
"Okay, just say your goodbye and get going," Dave said, feigning a smile.
The look on Emma's face had changed as she found that to be a bit rude but Karen had kept her composure.
"Umm…how about a proper goodbye, with a hug?" Karen said, smiling at him.
"A hug?" Dave said as his gaze slowly shifted to Emma who gave him a little nod in approval. "Okay."
Karen quickly moved toward him as soon as she heard that and wrapped her arms around him but Dave kept his arm straight until she had pulled out of the hug.
"It was nice spending the night with you guys." She said moving toward the door.
"Yeah, it was nice having you," Emma said with a smile on her face.
"I wish I could be there to watch your live game but that will mean I will have to stay one more night," Karen said with a little chuckle.
"Yeah, but your parents will probably be worried about you and will want you to return," Dave said.
"I don't leave with my parents," Karen said, slightly shaking his head.
"Oh, then I'm sure you have other things to take care of at your place," Dave said.
"Yeah." She said slowly stepping out of the house. "I'll call you." She added turning her gaze to Emma.
"Okay," Emma said.
Dave waited until her body was fully out of the house before he slammed the door shut and turned to Emma who had her arms crossed now with an annoyed expression on her face.
"What?" Dave asked.
"Really? I thought you just didn't like being around her but it turns out you don't like her at all."
Dave let out a deep sigh as he walked to the couch and slowly sat on it.
"You're right babe, I don't like her and I have my reason." He said.
"What reason?" Emma asked as she walked to him and sat down beside him.
"Are you sure you want to know?" Dave asked slowly, turning his gaze to her.
"Of course, I want to know," Emma said.
"Okay," Dave said, letting out a sigh. "No, I'm not telling you."
"What? Why?"
"I'm surprised you didn't notice," Dave said.
"Notice what?" Emma asked with a confused expression on her face.
"I want you to recall everything that has happened since yesterday, the way she has acted, the things she has said to you, and the questions she asked and try to make them make sense in your head," Dave said, giving him a little tap on his head.
Emma let out a sigh of defeat as she decided to talk about something else.
"My friend Emilia is coming to see me on Sunday." She said,
"Okay," Dave said.
"Please don't treat her the way you treated Karen," Emma said.
"Well, as long as she doesn't try to take something that doesn't belong to her, I'm going to be cool with her," Dave said before getting up from the couch and making his way up the stairs.
"Something that doesn't belong to her?" Emma muttered with a confused expression on her face.

The clock was showing 5:45 PM as the players from both Unique FC and Ronino FC were having their last training session before the match began.
Unique FC players were putting on black training outfits while Ronino FC players were putting on white training outfits with some of them putting on black sports jackets.
"So when is Emma going to arrive?" Mateo asked before lobbing a ball to Dave who caught it with ease. "Because I expect her to be here a lot earlier than the normal match time."
"She'll be here in the next fifteen minutes," Dave said, rolling the ball to him. "I don't think she'll be able to stay there alone after what happened."
"Good," Mateo said before lobbing the ball a little distance away from him to test his dexterity.
Sadly his Dexterity wasn't that good enough as he tried to stretch himself and catch the ball but he could only get the tip of his gloves to it before falling together with the ball.
<Low dexterity means you won't be able to catch balls like that so you should focus on punching them out>
'Got it, Catherine.'
The players quickly made their way down the tunnel as soon as the time had struck 6:30 PM to get ready for the match.
Unique FC players had quickly put on their home kit which was an orange kit with black little dotted designs and for the goalkeeper, it was just a plain black jersey.
The atmosphere erupted with cheers and applause as both teams matched into the pitch.
Ronino FC had quite a unique kit, red tops with a curvy black design running through the middle and plain white shorts.
"The players are on the pitch now for the last round of Bilbeth Premier League football for the day," Jim said.
"Yeah, and you can say that Ronino vs Unique is one of the most entertaining matches to watch in the league, these teams always give their best against each other, they never let either side have it easy," Steve said.
"Yeah, their first meeting this season was a very tough one until Unique's defense started getting sloppy and Ronino used that to their advantage to take a three-nil lead in a space of the last ten minutes," Jim said.
"That match should have ended in a draw but it looked like their defense switched off at the final ten minutes and there was nothing Dave's sloppy keeping could do about it."
The players were lined up in front of the stadium now as Dave looked directly at the spot where Emma usually sat during his games to see her waving at him.
He waved back to her with a bright smile on his face.
"You know, Unique FC can win this match if they play just like they did against Spree and if Dave keeps up his good form from that match," Jim said.
"Yeah, Ronino were quite poor in their last match and if it weren't for that penalty, there was no way they could have drawn that match against Dynamo FC," Steve said.
The sides had been chosen as Unique FC moved to the left side and Ronino FC moved to the right side.
"Hey, Dave, I hope you still have what you had during the last match," Adolf said, moving closer to Dave.
"I do," Dave said with a nod.
"Good," Adolf said, giving him a pat on his back before returning to his spot.
"Now, we're just waiting for the referee's whistle for the match to kick off," Jim said.
