Chapter 61 Riding Golden Lion With Shangguan Sisters
Ling'er settled onto the golden lion's back, her heart beating rapidly with excitement as she could feel the silky soft fur of the golden light. But she needed to bring her sister to the back of the golden lion as the white-haired beauty was contemplating and was in confusion, not expecting Ling'er to take initiative to ride the battle pet with this boy.
Bing'er was standing below on the ground as her eyes were filled with confusion but soon a hand hovered in from of her. She saw her sister's face with a smile as Ling'er said, "Come on, Bing'er, Give me your hand, we are getting late. And don't worry I'll be right here with you."
Hearing Ling'er would be with her, Bing'er hesitation lowered as she stepped forward, allowing her sister to help her up and sat behind the crimson-haired beauty.
The boy saw his Bing'er sat after some qualms which made him delighted.
"Are you girls, ready?" Yue Yan asked the Shangguan Sisters as he saw everyone had climbed up the mount already.
"Yeah, we are," Ling'er responded with a hint of nervousness but an exhilarating glint was flickering in her eyes.
"Then hold tight on each other," The boy said and commanded the golden beast to start their journey.
Bing'er wrapped her arms around her sister, clinging tightly to not fall as the lion was about to move. Ling'er was sandwiched between the duo so she didn't worry about falling.
The Golden Lion let out a low growl, but it was a gentle sound as if to reassure the girls that they shouldn't be afraid of the ride.
As the lion began to move, the sensation of the wind brushing passed the trio's hair and the sun on their face was invigorating.
Yue Yan and the girls rode the Golden Lion through the dense forest, the tall trees providing shade from the warm sun overhead. The lion's two-meter form easily plowed through the underbrush, its golden fur glistening in the sunlight.
As they rode, the trio encountered various beasts that roamed the forest. However, the speed of the Golden Lion was so fast to leave them all behind as they were not that high-level beast.
The journey was long, but the beauty of the forest was not lost on them. The rustling of leaves, the chirping of birds, and the occasional roar of distant beasts all blended together to create a symphony of sounds that was both peaceful and thrilling.
As they traveled, Yue Yan kept a watchful eye on their surroundings, making sure there weren't any uninvited or lurking dangers. His experience from his second life on this continent came in handy as he was able to navigate the twists and turns of the forest with ease because of his familiarity with the wilderness.
From time to time, Ling'er guided him about the direction of Silver moon village as she had the map. Usually, her eyes were closed as she was enjoying the serene sounds of the forest. She felt a sense of peace wash over her as if she was finally able to escape the chaos of worldly matters and find solace in mother nature.
Bing'er who was sitting at the back, holding Ling'er tightly, had her eyes wide with wonder as the golden lion traveled fast. She had never ridden such a beast before and liked the feeling of a cool breeze brushing past her face as her hair fluttered with the wind.
In just 40 minutes, they could see a village in the distance, its quaint wooden homes, peaceful streets, and grown crops in the farmland.
Yue Yan commanded the Golden Lion to stop a hundred meters away from the village as he didn't want to catch the unwanted spotlight.
"We should walk from here or we would get unnecessary attention if we ride on the golden lion into the village." Yue Yan said as he stood up on the golden lion's back and jumped from there.
His figure landed on the ground perfectly and heard another falling sound behind him. The boy turned as he saw the crimson-haired beauty also leaped from the golden's lion back like him and moved to help Bing'er come down carefully.
The girls fixed their hair and clothes before waiting for the boy who recalled the golden lion. After they were done preparing, they started walking toward their destination.
The silver moon village was surrounded by lush green trees and rolling fields, dotted with wildflowers and tall grasses that swayed gently in the breeze.
As they entered the village perimeter they realized, It was a small and unassuming region, made up of simple, wooden homes with thatched roofs. Smoke rose from the chimneys of the homes, filling the air with the scent of woodsmoke and the delicious aroma of cooking food.
The streets were quiet, the only sounds coming from the occasional clucking of a chicken or the soft lowing of a cow. They could see the Children playing in the fields, chasing each other and laughing, while some dozens of meters away the elders sat on their porches, chatting about day-to-day life.
As the trio made their way into the village, they were struck by the peace and tranquility of the place. It was as if time had stood still here, preserving the simple beauty and natural harmony of this idyllic village.
However, they knew it wasn't as simple as the eyes saw. Their mission was to help the villagers to solve their bad situation and earn as many reputation points as possible.
Shangguan Ling'er turned around and looked at her sister and Yue Yan, saying "Because of the Golden Lion, we have reached here before the other teams. Even your siblings and Wang Min haven't arrived yet. They might take two more hours so we should use this time to our advantage. Let's find the village head so we can get the best Quest to farm reputation points for our mission."
