Chapter 9: The Appearance of Little Brother
Chapter 9: The Appearance of Little Brother
Translator: Masakibluei
Rovel is looking at Agriel and her daughter with cold eyes. Meanwhile, the sound of rushing footsteps of a man approaching the hall can be heard.
Sauvell: “I heard that my older brother is back!”
A man with a large physique barge into the entrance hall. The man has a beard and his appearance looks similar to Rovel’s father.
Rovel: “……Is that you, Sauvell? You look exactly like father.”
Sauvell turns around to welcome Rovel, but looking at his older brother’s appearance makes him chokes up.
Sauvell: “How……Older brother…your appearance…”
Rovel: “More than anything, you seem well. I’m sorry that I’m been away for a long time. I gave you so much trouble.”
Sauvell: “aa…Older Brother.”
Rovel hugs the large body of his little brother. As his hands surround Sauvell’s body, Rovel pats his little brother’s back with affection. Sauvell has grown taller than Rovel. This makes Rovel really feels that ten years have passed already. Despite the emotional reunion between the two brothers, an out of place high pitched voice immediately tears them apart.
Agriel: “Aaaa Sauvell, what a good coincidence!! Without any delay, let’s get divorced!!”
All of the surrounding employees of the house are making noises at Agriel’s declaration.
Rovel: “……You are cruel as always.”
Sauvell raises his eyebrows and scowls as he looks at Agriel.
Sauvell: “Did you spend the Vankriff House’s money without permission again? How many times should I tell you until you understand? That money is for our folk!
Agriel: “What are you saying! This is normal! If I don’t dress up myself, people will look down at our house! You should be grateful that I make better use of it!”
Rovel calmly observes the two of them. It seems natural for the two of them to have arguments in front of all the servants. Perhaps, this happens on a daily basis. Although the surrounding servants look like they want to run away from the spot, they somehow appear to grow accustomed to their fights. Even though Rovel thinks that Agriel’s child does not have any fault to begin with, but the child was raised by Agriel to become exactly like her mother. This makes Rovel to look at Sauvell with scornful eyes. If that is the case, Sauvell is as guilty as Agriel. Rovel then decides to erase all of his compassion.
Rovel: “Sauvell, Agriel. Stop making disgrace to our house. Let’s talk about it again later.”
Sauvell: “Older Brother!”
Agriel: “Oh dear! As expected of Lord Rovel! You completely understand me. “
Rovel: “It’s useless to say anything. You don’t have any brain to understand my words. “
Sauvell lets out a sigh in agreement with Rovel’s words. Agriel is really ignorant about herself. She is still elated with excitement and her face shows genuine happiness. With her self centered way of thinking, she interprets Rovel’s cold words and attitudes as being supportive of her.
Rovel: “Sauvell, I have something to say in private.”
Sauvell: “Aa, Older Brother…”
Rovel: “Lawrence, tomorrow I will go to the palace. Please send them an announcement ahead. Then go to the Bureau of Justice Enforcement. “
The butler called Lawrence bows to comply with Rovel’s instruction.
Sauvel: “Older Brother, the Bureau of Justice Enforcement…”
Rovel: “It’s for your divorce formalities. Agriel is the one who wishes for it. “
Next to Sauvell who is feeling overwhelm, Agriel is cheering delightfully. The Bureau of Justice Enforcement is a different organization from the Church. When a problem arises, it is the place to go for legal conclusions, such as annulling a rite that had been magically approved previously. A wedding ceremony is held by the church for the sake of proclaiming the relationship in front of God, whereas a divorce proceeding is handled by the Bureau of Justice Enforcement. However, the person who causes the divorce will be judged as breaking his oath to God.
Rovel: “Tomorrow, the two of you have to go to the Bureau of Justice Enforcement. I will go with you.”
There is no one who dares to defy Rovel’s commands.
Rovel: “Sauvell, let’s go.”
Rovel goes to the 2nd floor with his brother.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They both head into the cigarette room, a private room exclusively for men. Rovel sits down on a sofa while crossing his legs. He leans his elbow against the sofa and presses down his head with his hand to reduce his headache. Then he lets out a deep sigh to let out all of his pent-up frustration.
Rovel: “……I heard the gist of the problem from Albert.”
Sauvell: “Ah…I’m very sorry about letting that woman doing everything as her please.”
Rovel asks his little brother who hangs his head down to sit. Since the first time he looked at his little brother, Sauvell’s appearance and his large build are exactly the same as their father. Rovel recalls his memory of his father who fought during the Monster Tempest incident, and his gallant figure as he died during the battle. His father died from protecting his subordinate. One of those subordinates is Albert. Sauvell’s characters do not bear any resemblance to their father’s. Originally, Sauvell is a timid person. It is heartbreaking to see his worn-out face which is caused by the feuds with that woman.
Rovel: “Bear it until tomorrow. I will drive those two women out of our house tomorrow. “
Sauvell: “…The child too?”
Rovel: “That child is not yours, right?”
Sauvell: “……I have no clue.”
Rovel: “What do you mean by that?”
Sauvell: “On the day I married her. I was drunk from alcohol out of desperation…”
At the moment Rovel listened to it, he realized it right away.
Rovel: “Oh. You have been tricked.”
Sauvell: “I learned my lesson that this way, a man position be weakened instantly.”
When he got up in the morning, Agriel must had sneaked in into his bed. It is horrified to imagine. Rovel taps Sauvell’s shoulder to comfort him.
Rovel: “Agriel claimed that the child does not belong to you. “
Sauvell: “……ha?”
Rovel: “Most of the time, she was talking about marrying me and making the child mine. If this is the case, it is more convenient for us.”
Sauvell: “Older Brother?”
Rovel: “Tomorrow, if you go to the Bureau of Justice Enforcement, you have to talk about your divorce. Just don’t say anything. That would be the best. “
Sauvell: “Wha, what do you mean? I will be punished if I keep silent.”
Rovel: “I don’t think so. That woman will kill herself. Don’t open your mouth if you don’t want to be enfolded in it. Do you understand?”
Rovel’s commanding voices leave Sauvel no other choice but to comply. As soon as their conversation is finished, Sauvell fixates his gaze at his older brother who remains silent afterward. His appearance does not change from 10 years ago. No, something has changed. Both his hair and eyes color had changed.
Sauvell: “A……Older Brother, where had you been for the past 10 years……”
Rovel: “Oh, I was in the spirit realm. “
Sauvell: “How come your appearance……”
Rovel: “……”
