My Evil System

Chapter 186 Getting Ready For The Apocalypse . . .

[BONUS]

Jin dabbled with his lips, thinking. "Though elves are usually private and secluded creatures. Some of them detested the strict rules of their village and preferred to roam the world. We might recruit some of them."

Like Dwarves, Elves were really good crafters. Maybe I should recruit one while I was at it.

"Next, we have the Firbolg. This race is a minority and is one with the natural environment, both eschewing the trappings of civilians for the natural order and taking great pains to ensure their presence is rarely ever known.

"These units are like a hybrid combination of monsters and humans while some are hundred percent monstrous plants."

"Where do we find them?" I asked.

"Probably in the forest," Jin shrugged.

"You might find them in swamps and marches, My Lord, as well as forest and woodlands," Athena answered.

"Are you planning to recruit them?" Amara asked.

"They are carnivorous plant and plant monsters. Their status inducing effect like poison, paralyze, charm, sleep, and soon, would surely help us in the future."

I saw that Amara wasn't too keen on recruiting them, though. But she hid her feelings to herself. She probably didn't like recruiting monsters into our fief.

"The next is the Gnoll. These hyena-like creatures are all primed for killing. Their rampage ability allows them to set up chains of attacks to run down and destroy all their enemies.

"The Gnoll units consist of the following: Witherlings, their militia. Clankeeprs their light infantry. Flesh Gnawers their heavy infantry. Hunters their range units. Leucrottas their mounted units. Fangs of Yeenoghu, their siege units, and Flind, their fantastic units."

I guess these Gnolls would make for better hunters. I thought.

"The next, we have the Gnomes. They are inquisitive and studios lovers of all things mechanical. They field armies of hand-built soldiers, machined and rudimentary robots. They also came in handy in running your technological area, My Lord. So this creature is a must for the advancement of your realm."

"Gnomes are rather temperamental," Jin added. "But if you offered them work which invoked mechanical things, I think they would agree."

"Alright. They would be the first on my list together with the dwarves," I told them. Any race beneficial to my territory was a must.

"The next is the Goliaths. These are honorable giants who believed that the harshness of life provides the best teacher. Their martial code prohibits them from attacking a fleeing opponent.

"Then, we have the Halflings. There are amiable and gregarious races who avoid combat but are prepared for the worst. Their instinct towards self-preservation has left to a reliance on range attacks as a strategy to avoid direct combat."

Come to think of it, most of the creatures I encountered were Halflings and Humans. They dominated the roads and towns.

"Next, we have the Gnomes and Hobgoblins. They pride themselves on their physical strength and martial prowess above all else. Resilient and relentless, they strike hard and strike fast.

"And, of course, we have the humans. They are the most plentiful, versatile, dangerous, and surprising race. Their mounted cavalry units are unsurpassed. So far, the humans have Peasant as a militia unit. Pikes as light infantry units. Swordmasters as their heavy infantry units. Bows as their range units. Cavalry as their mount units. And Catapults as their sieges units.

"There are other races as well, like Kobolds, a draconic ancestry lost to time, yet they still worship these ancestors with fevor. Clever but weak, they know their true strength is in each other.

"We have the Lizardfolk and Beastmen, as well, that are good in melee combats and have unparalleled strength. The Orcs which are irascible and warlike race who rarely shies away from a fight and delight in seeing their enemies fall.

"There are other races as well, but so far, those I mentioned are readily accessible if we're pressed for time."

"That seemed enough." I looked at the others. "What do you think? Dwarves and Gnomes are a must for our territory, but what are your opinions?"

"Aasimar seemed like a nice choice," Amara chimed in. "They could heal in battle, so they would be a good addition to the army."

I nodded and asked Jin. "What about you?"

"Definitely the demons and devils if we can. They're stronger. But knowing their nature and that we're pressed for time, I guess I will go for Goliaths and Orcs."

The big guns, huh? That wasn't surprising.

"Megu?"

Megu hesitated and thought for a moment. "I honestly don't know. I think whatever My Lord wanted, Angelica and I would want that too."

"Florin?"

Florin hopped to her feet and raised her hand. "Yes! Yes! Present! I want those plants, obviously!"

The Firbolg.

"How about you, Lina?"

Lina's half-closed eyes went to the ceiling. "Elves?"

Elves? That's an interesting choice.

My attention then shifted to Thomas, and he just replied with a growl, saying that he didn't care. He would eat all the enemies when they came.

Right.

"Alright, your suggestions are heard, and I will try my best to recruit those races. But before that, let's discuss the Apocalyptic Event next."

With that, I transferred the information about the Apocalypse to them.

Looking at their screens, everyone had grim faces except for Athena, who couldn't care less.

"Honestly, at this point, nothing shocks me anymore," said Jin. "I don't know how you got the Apocalypse's information weeks before it would even happen. All the kingdoms have tried to predict this event, but none succeed. All they got was the knowledge that the Apocalyptic Event came a few weeks after a new batch of players were transported into this world."

I wonder what his reactions would be if I told him that I owned two Gods and a Dragon as minions?

<He would probably gouge his eyes and ears out>

Let's hope it wouldn't come to that. I need all his body parts intact, for I have a job for him.

"Then that meant there is a new batch of players here?" asked Amara. "But why haven't we got hold of this information?"

"They must have been transported outside from this kingdom," answered Athena. "Maybe in Trinity or in the Demon continent."

"Anyway, what are we going to do about this?" Megu asked, her voice thick with worry as she looked at Angelica, who was busy playing with Florin.

"I think we should get lots of ice and lots of wood for the fire. The woods, we can get it nearby, but the ice . . ." Amara was really thinking hard that her forehead was creasing.

"Let's all calm down," I told them. "Athena, get Ulysses here. He might have a solution to this."

"Ulysses?" Amara and Jin questioned at the same time.

"Oh right . . . you haven't met my master builder and Alchemist yet."
