Chapter 201 201. Deal With The Manager.
Just before Kevin drifted off to sleep, he visited the site of a loan bank which was going to be his next target the moment he woke up in the morning.
Morning finally arrived, and Kevin had his bath, put on his clothes, ate and went straight to the bank to apply for a loan.
He wanted to start with a clean slate and earn his own money without having to spend a penny from Max's money.
He didn't want anyone tracing his riches back to Max, at least until the auction was over and done with.
He also had his reasons for choosing this particular bank and he could only hope that everything ended up going the way he wanted them to go.
Meanwhile, the bank manager was reluctant to give him the money he needed because he doubted that Kevin could return the money before the deadline elapsed.
But this was the least of the manager's worries, as to the Manager's surprise, he heard the most ludicrous words he had ever heard in his life being uttered from Kevin's lips.
Being the experienced manager that he was, he had seen his fair share of overconfident stock traders walk into his office and request a loan, only to end up with a massive debt on their heads.
He could see that Kevin was clearly trying to follow in their footsteps and the manager was trying his best to convince him not to do what he had in mind, but Kevin remained adamant and the manager wasn't too surprised by Kevin's reaction.
Even though Kevin had achieved a marvelous feat by completing an online course and obtaining his trading license right after passing the test in a day, the manager still found what Kevin revealed to him ridiculous.
'One week,' That was the duration of time Kevin said he needed to repay the $10,000 he wanted to get as a loan.
Kevin claimed that he would get three times his capital in a week and pay back the money before the time elapsed.
When Kevin told this to the manager, the man couldn't hold back his laughter.
He laughed loudly as he replayed Kevin's words in his head over and over again.
What made it even more amusing was the amount of confidence Kevin had when saying those words.
Now, the manager was interested in seeing how this turned out in the end.
Since Kevin was clearly inexperienced in how the world worked, the manager would willingly show Kevin the consequences that came with taking risks that shouldn't be taken in the first place.
"Alright, I'll lend you the money for one, no, two weeks! If you make that kind of money in two weeks then I won't collect any interest from you, but will instead make you a partner in the bank."
Kevin smiled after hearing what the manager said. The manager noticed the grin on Kevin's face and he could see that Kevin was still feeling very confident in his ability to earn three times the amount he wanted to borrow.
He couldn't wait to see the look of disappointment when the deadline drew closer and Kevin ended up being unable to pay back his loan.
Meanwhile, Kevin could see that the man clearly didn't believe that he would be able to pay back the loan within the stipulated time, but that was precisely what Kevin wanted.
He needed a way into the business world and this manager was going to be his main ticket to making that happen.
After studying and reading countless books on stock trading, Kevin was confident in himself.
He would use the money from the loan to trade in the stocks of the largest companies in the industry, and with the amount of knowledge he had, he could even predict exactly which company would flourish and which ones wouldn't, almost as though he could see the future.
With the agreement signed, they shook hands, and in the next moment, Kevin left the office.
The thought of making $30,000 in two weeks was something that most people would salivate over.
In fact, it was a goal many experienced traders now deemed worthy of being called a pipe dream.
No matter how overambitious one might be, it was only a fool who would believe that he could earn such a ridiculous amount of money within such a time frame.
A regular trader would need at least three months to obtain such an amount of profit, meanwhile, an experienced trader would need a minimum of two months to make that kind of money.
Nevertheless, experts would gladly admit how difficult it was for them to achieve such a feat.
But this was for an ordinary person, whereas Kevin was anything but ordinary.
In other words, he was extraordinary.
It took Kevin two days to make $30,000 and the stock company handling Kevin's trading account went stark raving bonkers.
"Director Han!! Director Han!! Please you have to see this!!" The young man monitoring Kevin's account stormed into the director's office.
The bald old man flinched from the sudden force the young man used to storm into his office.
What audacity!!
If it were anyone else, director Han would have probably turned that person's day into a nightmare, but because it was this young man, he mellowed down a bit.
There was only one reason this young staff of his would actively seek him out, and it definitely had something to do with that man.
The one who went by the name, Kevin Lannister.
Did that man accomplish something amazing again??
Director Han walked out of his office and followed the young man to his cubicle, he leaned closer to the computer screen on the young man's desk and read the words displayed on the screen.
"Thirty thousand?!!!!" Director Han repeated what he saw on the screen loudly.
Everyone in the office looked up from what they were doing when the old man shouted. His eyes were bulging out of their sockets and his heart rate was beating at a ridiculous pace.
Just how amazing was this guru who decided to come to his trading company!!
