Chapter 35
C35 – A Great Harvest!
The trio teamed up to fell a smaller tree, quickly erecting a makeshift tent.
They then ignited a roaring bonfire outside the tent with the flames from a fire spirit.
The low-level Demon Beasts, lacking much intelligence, instinctively shied away from the firelight, offering effective protection against their assaults.
Still concerned, Fu Tian produced a bottle of yellow powder and sprinkled it around the tent, creating a protective circle.
“Fu, what’s this powder? It has a pretty strong smell,” Qin Hongyu inquired with curiosity.
“It’s Beast Repellent Powder. It might not do much against the higher-level Demon Beasts, but it’s quite effective for the lower-level ones. We should be able to rest easy tonight,” Fu Tian replied, smiling.
“You’ve come really well-prepared!” Bo Miaojiao remarked, impressed.
“Go ahead and get some rest. I’ll keep watch for now. In three hours, Qin Hongyu, it’ll be your turn. We’ll rotate throughout the night to ensure our safety,” Fu Tian declared firmly.
“Okay, then I’ll rely on you, big brother. Wake me up in three hours,” Qin Hongyu responded, grinning.
Qin Hongyu and Bo Miaojiao made their way into the spacious tent, finding ample room to stretch out and lie down.
Exhausted from the day’s strenuous activities, they quickly succumbed to a deep slumber.
The night passed without incident, likely due to the fire’s glow and the Beast Repellent Powder’s efficacy.
Each of them, taking turns on watch, managed to get over six hours of sleep—a notable feat in the perilous Iron Woods.
After a brief tidy-up session in the morning, the three set out once more in search of Demon Beasts.
Having already passed their assessment, they were determined to make the most of their rare visit to the Iron Woods. Not seizing the chance to collect more Spiritual Cards would be a missed opportunity.
With their teamwork growing stronger, they honed their skills in hunting down low-level Demon Beasts with increasing ease.
In their trio, Qin Hongyu’s White House took on the role of the main attacker. Leveraging his lightning-fast speed, he was able to engage the Demon Beast head-on. He consistently launched surprise attacks, using Death Bind to immobilize the creature.
Bo Miaojiao’s Fire Spirit served as the long-range damage dealer. With its formidable attack power, it would always strike a lethal blow to the Demon Beast once White House had it under control.
Fu Tian’s Rip, on the other hand, played the role of the team’s cheerleader. Often found standing idly by, Rip proved crucial in several emergencies, using his Earth Elemental Shield to prevent White House from taking damage. With Rip’s protective shield, both White House and Gibbs could launch their attacks with greater peace of mind.
“We’ve only got one hour left before the assessment is over, and we’ve made quite the haul this time! Let’s divvy up the loot,” Qin Hongyu proposed.
The excitement was palpable on their faces – they had indeed struck it rich. In Bo Miaojiao’s hands were three Gray Iron Rank Spiritual Cards.
“This Spiritual Card features the Iron Beetle — a perfect match for Fu. Here, this one’s for you,” Bo Miaojiao said, as she pulled out a card and handed it over to Fu Tian.
