Chapter 78 - Will You Believe Me?
"What the hell…?" Tang Wei pushed up his glasses and squinted his eyes as he leaned closer toward the computer screen. "What kind of nonsense is this?"
"What is it?" Ke Shao, who had just returned from an errand outside, approached and stood behind him.
"This…" Tang Wei needed a moment to form coherent words because he was rendered speechless by this website. "Come and see this. Captain sent this to me just now, apparently it came from Xu Binchen. A reporter has just snuck into the hospital because of this."
"What?!" Ke Shao bent his waist and together with Tang Wei, they read the article with rapt attention.
[Warning: Some Doubts Regarding City A's Safety!
As you all may know, City A is one of the most famous cities in China. Not only is there a new Recreational Park which was opened by Jiang Corporation, there is also A University and People's Hospital which was sponsored by Henan Corporation. Two gigantic figures in the business world have invested in this City, making it prosperous and full of vitality. But what kind of malice is hidden beneath this kind of glamor?
First, the vicious criminal, serial killer which is often reported on TV, has fled to City A and settled there. You can see from the recent news where some body parts were found in the parking lot of Jiang Park Mall and City A's Recreational Park. Both were properties that were owned by the big shots, Jiang Huocheng and Nan Cheng. Is that really a coincidence?
Second, reportedly some time ago, a Weib8 post has blown up with the eye catching hashtags of #EmergencyRescueGege and #JiangJinyanWheelchair. Until now, there hasn't been any development regarding this hot topic. Is that normal? Especially when everyone is clamoring on the newly rising athlete's accident, Jiang Jinyan? Obviously, there is a force that controls everything behind the scene. Gradually, the hashtag #EmergencyRescueGege vanished from public and only news of Jiang Jinyan remained.
Why did this happen? Obviously, it is because the man behind #EmergencyRescueGege isn't just anyone ordinary. But do you all forget one thing? How about the girl that was being rescued? Why hasn't anyone mentioned her at all? Suspicious point +1
Third, a sparse amount of people have come out and confessed that they were there during the time of the accident and the location of it was precisely our People's Hospital in City A! So much of being a coincidence! But apparently, all of these comments were deleted before they could even see the light of the day. Suspicious point +1
Jiang Jinyan's accident, the serial killer, more and more body parts, the hidden force behind the scene, what is the connection between all of them?
Below was the attachment of a post that was screenshotted before they were deleted. [picture]
Now, don't worry. This is not a conspiracy post. This article intends to raise awareness of the citizens in City A. Pay attention to safety when going out. Avoid public crowds and keep the lights out when it's dark. Keep your beloved in sight and don't lose them to the serial killer.]
Ke Shao frowned, speechless. He almost slipped out a curse but managed to hold himself back in the end. "What is this…?"
"On the surface, this post is just stating the truth. They didn't conclude anything, but the way they formed the words is ambiguous and leading people's thoughts to a certain direction." Tang Wei analyzed. "First, they brought out the matter of people's concern, the serial killer. Then they linked it to Mr.Jiang's accident, forcefully intertwining the two. Then, they subtly reminded people of someone that they had neglected all these while; Xu Binchen and Butterfly's disappearance."
Terrifying. Just thinking of that gave Tang Wei chills. "If this manages to get out, not only will City A's hospital be crowded by reporters, but Butterfly's identity will also be dug out sooner or later."
Ke Shao clicked his tongue. "Vicious, truly vicious!" He took over the mouse and scrolled down. Because this was a private website that was created with public domain, there were advantage and disadvantage of it. The advantage was; it wouldn't pop up in hot topics and search columns unless people specially typed in the keyword but the disadvantage was exactly that. Because it wouldn't appear on Weib8, then the police had no way to track it down and the website could grow all it wanted. Fortunately, there hadn't been many visitors yet.
"Hmm?" He narrowed his eyes. "This comment…"
Below the article, there was one glaring comment made by an account with username Fu888. "Is this real? Where did OP receive all of this information? I will give you a generous amount in exchange for it. Please contact me as soon as possible at XXX-9876. Thank you in advance."
"Yes," Tang Wei answered with a sigh. "This is the reporter who came to the hospital to scout for news. But he has been apprehended by Xu Binchen and now, he's on his way here. Captain asked me to track the original poster down."
"Eh, what about Wang Chengbing? Isn't it his job?"
"You don't know ah?" Tang Wei slumped on the desk and groaned. "Because of the continuous all nighter and undercover, he suffered from acute gastritis, vertigo, high fever and inflamed throat and was hauled to the hospital the day before yesterday. Now all of the technical jobs are handed to me. I am going to die from all of this work!"
"Good luck, bro." Ke Shao patted his shoulder in schadenfreude. "Fortunately, we realized it soon. I can't imagine what would happen if this managed to spread."
Tang Wei's glasses reflected the clean and neat website which only contained a single post. "Hopefully, what we are afraid of will not happen. Now, let me track down the IP address of this website..."
Tang Wei's fingers flew on the keyboard and the only sound that filled the office was the continuous and rhythmic clacking. The screen changed and rows of code came out, even looking at it gave Ke Shao headache.
"Hmm?" Tang Wei frowned and his expression turned more and more strange. "Hmm????"
"What? What's wrong?" Ke Shao didn't want to look at those rows of intangible codes but Tang Wei's incredulous expression hooked him. "Is there something wrong with the website?"
"The IP address..." Tang Wei looked like he wanted to cry but lacked tears. He showed Ke Shao the computer screen and as he pressed the enter key, the screen changed to the satellite maps. There was a red blinking that showed the location the location of the website creator.
Ke Shao's eyes instantly widened in shock.
***
If Shi Nian's face could be converted into an emoji pack, then her face would be filled with black question marks right now. The youth in front of her still sported the same wild, unrestrained grin with his rainbow color head. His cast had been taken off, and the bandaged arm hung limply by his side.
"Are you busy?" Nan Xukun asked. Then, without permission, he sat beside her on the bench with his long legs stretched out. His warm body temperature was instantly transmitted to her and Shi Nian scooted away as if being scalded. "What's wrong? Did I make you uncomfortable?"
Shi Nian looked at him, incredulous. Her eyes were saying, "So, you realize it?"
Nan Xukun rubbed his nose sheepishly. "Well, don't be too obvious. My heart hurts. See, I will sit further okay?" Then he really moved one seat away. Now, there was one empty seat between them. "Is it okay?"
Shi Nian looked at him intently. Was there something wrong with Young Master Nan's head? Why was he so sensible today?
Nan Xukun stared at her with a smile as if he didn't mind her scrutiny. The light that poured onto him gathered on those pairs of grey greenish eyes, creating a myriad of kaleidoscopes similar to molten silver with a speck of lively color in it. Shi Nian had to admit that he had a very beautiful pair of eyes that people couldn't resist.
"Shi Nian, will you believe me if I say that I am very happy staying in this hospital?"
